Knowing that Smigi is named after a cute cat is so funny, it makes me like it a million times more! I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about Smigi and trying to guess its name for the contest so this dragon is very special to me now! Thank you!

SMIGI DRAGON

1. Animation: 4/5 The only reason Smigi isn't getting a 5 from me is because I was hoping for some acrobatics. Tissu seemed so light and dynamic. Smigi can't even do a full loop-the-loop.

4. Theme fit: 5/5 Smigi trying to fit in and stand like other dragons is cute and feels like the opposite of performers doing handstands in circuses. Except real circus performs can actually pull it off and poor Smigi fails miserably time and again.

5. Design details: 4/5 It's always interesting to see what our Deca team decides to keep/change from the contest entry designs. I like his thick front legs and those pointy toes. The back legs are a sticking point for me. Hear me out. Tissu looked like he did all sorts of acrobatics that would require both strong front and back legs. Smigi doesn't do any of that and so his back legs just feel out of place. Realistically ('cause dragons are totes real), it would be so annoying to support those long, gangly, useless legs. They needed to tuck away better, become vestigial, or get used more.

On another note, I was really confused initially by the egg design. Sadly, I play in low-res and I had no idea where the yellow rod on the egg came from. I finally found it on the dragon (yellow on white?) and still don't understand why it's there or what it represents.

8. Comments: CONGRATS to Beejeans! Tissu was a really novel idea. I think Deca did a decent job pulling it off, though I wish Smigi had a bit more of Tissu's whimsy. Smigi is still a really cute design though and he's a welcome addition to my park. Oh and I like the baby. He's darn cute.

The skinny rabbit hind legs don’t match Smigi at all and look really awkward. I much prefer the cat-like (😸) legs of the Tissu dragon.

I love Beejean’s Tissu dragon! Deca did a wonderful job of interpreting it into Smigi. The highlight of this event has been learning that Smigi is named after a cat 😹! The Tissu dragon does have a lot of cat features. Smigi the cat and Smigi the dragon are purr-fect!

The animation is really nice. I like the way he swings back and forth in the air, like he's dangling from an invisible trapeze. I'm not really fond of dragons who use props, so it's good to see one going through the motions if you will. In other words, acting like he's doing something without the actual prop being visible. --- Giving it a score of 5.

Kind of a little big, but not too bad. --- Giving it a score of 4.

Smigi is a circus performer with a wonderfully entertaining act. I'd say he fits in perfectly. --- Giving it a score of 5.

Beautiful colors and the stripped ribbon tails are lovely. I like that his front legs are bigger and more muscular than his back legs, which shows that he mainly gets around by walking on his hands. --- Giving it a score of 5.

Sound like a good combo. I mean, he looks like he has a dark element, but he also needs a light element for the stage lights and air to fly through the sky during his performance. Makes sense to me. --- Giving it a score of 5.

And the black and white colors of Tissu are a lot like Smigi the cat so I get how Tissu reminded DECA of the kitty. It never occurred to me to look more closely at Tissu when I was trying to make my guess for The Origin Contest. I had a blast figuring out the meaning behind Smigi and reading everyone's guesses. It has made me like Smigi the dragon a lot more knowing the cat is behind it! LOL! I saved my best and longest rating for last. Thanks for the contest! (Sorry I'm late with the ratings!)
