It won’t be easy to choose! I’m using the Runic caves to fill in missing traited dragons. I already have 9 eggs I want to hatch! I’m going to have to activate all the caves and I suspect by the time this event is over I’ll have more than 12 I want to claim.

That is what I am using the Runic Caves for as well. 😊 Top of my list to claim are those with tricky breeding combos and/or not great breeding odds. I am going to want to claim more dragons that what there are caves as well. 😊

They should also be available with the snowflake egg of mystery. I am up to a cost of 75k without being successful. I also have two runic caves going.

Snowflake 7 has a slightly higher breeding percentage than Eldritch, but in many ways it’s worse. Players can breed Eldritch x Eldritch at the RBCs for a decent cloning percentage and claim the twin and traited-twin. Snowflake 7 cannot be cloned. So you’re stuck with the lousy, low breeding percentage. Last year, I was lucky in the Rift and bred SF7 with a trait. Then I tried to breed SF7 at the RBC for a twin. After 2-3 weeks with no luck, I gave up. SF7 will require a lot of persistence. (It would be nice if we could use a couple wishes for the twin and traited-twin versions.)

Am I remembering correctly that, because Solarflare can't be bred in the rift, Ariesian can't be bred in the rift, but Ariesian CAN be bred in the runic caves (but not Solarflare) ?

Ariesian can be bred if you obtain a rifted solarflare through event rewards, mystery eggs or the caves
I am hesitant to buy caves currently with the loading issues. It got better last event, but it's kicking me in the behind again.
Noteably, I decreased the walking space for visitors and it cut their numbers by 200-400 for some time. But, they're back to almost the o.g. amount.
It might be my fault through giving them 2-3 islands back on accident. I had to move themes after DECA placed the newest island all the way left. Now the melody one /alone/ is almost empty, but juuust attractive enough. Great nogard, save me.
/ On the bright side, I will have the space to develop a new Christmas island and still have some reserves left. Also, the rift isn't lagging as much?
/ I'm sick, though and don't have the creative juice to find a concept that physically fits on the island. I *suck* at working with equally flat elements (the habitats) without bigger structures to spice it up.
Given the look, playing with colours instead should be a no-brainer, but.. man. It's so difficult. If the core concept wasn't good, fixing it means losing so.much.effort
I forgot to say, sorry. But, I'm also *really* surprised DECA didn't size up the ornamental habitats.
It's a big risk they'll do it next year. My decorating efforts might be wasted altogether. I guess I could just place things nicely enough to not be an eyesore. Though... that's really lame. I hate doing that.
Unfortunately, players cannot wish for traited versions of dragons. But we can wish for a twin, if we own the dragon. I’ve already asked Deca several times if they’ll change this, because I believe it’s an oversight from Backflip. I’ll keep pressing the issue.
How fantastic would it have been, during the Halloween event, if players could’ve twinned Eldritch with their friends, then wished for a traited-twin. And how fantastic would it be, if players could wish for a traited-twin Snowflake 7, after failing to breed it in the Rift for five consecutive weeks.

Right now, you can’t breed Ariesian at the Runic Breeding Caves, because it’s not available. You can clone it with an Ariesian or Ariesian + Ariesian.
Galaxy dragons can only be bred at the Cooperative Breeding Cave; it’s part of their breeding rule. The only exception are Lunis and Solis. As a result, they cause a bug at the RBCs and crash the game. So, they are typically unavailable when the RBCs are released.
Once Ariesian is available, you’ll be able to breed it in the Rift with a traited Solarflare.

The ability to filter / sort items in the Gifts menu has been requested a lot. It is the dream feature. Deca said it’s on their list, but it’s not a priority, so not sure if / when it’ll be in the game.

Like, small ornamental habitat (current), large ornamental habitat, giant. The usual. Same for the surface/world type dragons. I think those are the only ones without multiple sizes left? (Spare special/hybrid ones like meridiem)
So, they are typically unavailable when the RBCs are released.
It's not massively important, just a note, but they haven't made Lunis/Solis unavailable this time around (I've seen people having issues due to them).

Deca greatly expanded the Ornamental Habitat last year by raising the limit from seven to twelve. So increasing the size of the habitat would not be a priority. Also, players have not requested this, because there isn't a demand; there’s enough room to house the Ornamentals. The problem is there isn’t enough land to place all the Ornamental Habitats. The lack of real estate is a much larger issue.
I don't know about the others, but they can't add much/anything to the Surface element due to copyright issues, since that element was from DV World, and that was shut down when Backflip was.
Deca can’t add DV World’s dragons to expand the Surface collection, but they can alter the Surface Habitat, since that’s DragonVale’s content.
However, since Deca has no plans to increase the collection, there isn’t any need to expand the habitat.

Omnitat / large Omnitat question: I have 10 omnitats, some regular and some large. I’m at the limit (10) and can’t purchase more but I would like to expand at least one of the regulars to a large. Purchasing a large is 12,000 berries; regular is 6,000 berries. Upgrading a regular to a large is… 12,000 berries! That doesn’t seem right! I can sell a regular but i get 50,000,000 coins for it, not berries. Shouldn’t I be able to either upgrade for 6,000 berries or sell the regular one for 6,000 berries, then buy a large for 12,000 berries? Help me understand.
