I found a solution to my too-uniform-habitat problem, but I had to steal one of my own Crystal Castles. Unfortunately, the cap is at one. It's a bit mean we can't buy more. It's just impossible to get 8 ornamental habitats to work without it

The Crystal Castle is like Whitbee’s Castle. We only get one, but it’s big, and special.

Huh? I've got more and, I think at a time you could buy unlimited copies?

An IRL friend is still trying for Aisa, currently using level 20 Jetstream in coop. Is it better to use an Elder dragon than a level 20 hybrid? I would have chosen an elder Earth or Air hoping for slightly better breeding odds, but are the odds pretty close with eother choice?

We don’t know the exact bonus for using an elder, and it would take large samples of testing to see. I myself have tried several ways and always seem to have the best luck with elders, and even better luck using ghostly elders whenever possible. You also have to consider the cloning odds when trying to clone. When it is 1-2% I am not even going to bother speed breeding and using gems on it. If it is 3-4% then I will use some. If it is 5-10% I definitely will try to get it as it comes easier. I used Elder Air for Asia and got on first try. I am not always that lucky though. It does have good cloning odds. It should come fairly quickly as long as you do not add extra elements in.

Thanks, Amos, that’s my experience too. I feel like I get the target dragons quicker with Elders. It may be confirmation bias, but I’ll suggest to my friend, who is welcome to ignore advice.
I've never had too much luck with most elders. Plant and fire, yes, but with some like metal involved, it just invites long fail times. There's always a gamble between improving changes slightly to get a rare type and accidentally getting an epic. If you're trying for an epic, it doesn't matter. Rare types have me wondering about the best strategy, though
Question: if I have an Aisa double parent cloned in coop now, will it still be a twin if I collect the egg after the weekend is over? I never paid much attention to twin weekends

I'm sure I read somewhere that as long as you start the breed during the twin weekend, it will be a twin. Possibly the DragonVale wiki's page on the twin weekend mini event. I'll double check if I have a moment.

If they're using a non-elder, it should be ruin because jetstream is a rare type and has a bad chance of cloning itself (and shortening fail times). Elders /supposedly/ have better breeding boosts than level 20 rares.

Thank you! It doesn't say on the wiki, but I'll cross my fingers DECA hasn't changed that mechanic. I think it used to be that way, at least.
just read over adlerist’s notes on RBC and looks like we can.
Yes, you can clone the new event dragons at the Runic Breeding Caves and claim them. I usually claim the traited-twin version so I can maintain my collection of all traited dragons.

As long as you begin the breed during Twin Weekend, it will be a twin, even if you complete the breed days later. Similarly, any breeds started before Twin Weekend will not be a guaranteed twin.

I have gotten a few very pleasant surprises over the twin weekend! In each of my three accounts! Thank you so much to jbm, Grammy#6671, and chinchillababy for the twin Aisas, Everfrosts, and Suggarmittens. What wonderful holiday gifts! 🙏🙏🙏🎉🎉🎄🎄
Twin weekend was a lot of fun, although it is never long enough. 😊
Thank you to belorga for the twin Aisa and lisgie for twin Funis and Zipzap. 😊
