Well I don't know how this works if my friend isn't in the comp, but I just received a twin Glassia Dragon.
I don't know if it should count since the breeder is not in Last Call, so I think this is a good time to clarify.
I would think that yes, this would count towards you being out, as buying the dragon also counts, But i will be sending you a gem as its a twin version

I've already been out-I was the second loser behind belorga. I bred a light trait one on my second try on Thursday.
Thing was, I was not expecting a twin Glassia Dragon, especially from a friend in which was not part of the Last Call. And since I believe this is the first instance this has occurred (one person breeding/recieving a twin from someone not in the last call) I wanted to figure out how the pledges would work for that scenario.
The Original One is in all things. The Original One is nowhere at all. From all creations, over all creations, does Arceus watch over all.

As others have mentioned, receiving a twin makes you a “loser” no matter who it comes from, though you’d still be eligible for any twin pledges! For instance, Fletch marked me as out after someone outside the competition announced a twin on the event thread - he actually mistook the egg and I wasn’t out, but that’s an example of how it’d work in practice

Currently breeding for whatever twins I can possibly get my hands on

I was already knowing that you'd be a loser after receiving said twin (since you have the dragon now). As I mentioned already to logan14325, I had already been out since I bred one in the Rift on Thursday.
My largest question would have been how the gems were paid out-would it be:
none at all since the breeder was not in the comp at the time
or would I/the reciever be the only one to be owed?
In the end, it sounds like it'll end up being the second one.

Right now I am trying to double-parent clone a regular, untraited Glassia as that was my original plan (I'll probably clone one more for a normal pedestal). Last night I got a successful double parent clone with theresa .
But I swear, if it ends up being another twin, I think I'll go insane. I may have to kick most of the koalas out of my park.
Update: It wasn't a twin (at least this time around).
