Is there any way to get rid of the heap of gifted dragons in my social collection during the latest runic cave problem? There's no option to 'clear' them and I don't want to have to collect and hatch them all, taking up precious space in my hatchery!
Cecilia at the Duckpond
Unfortunately, you can’t clear them, like you can with twins from the co-op. You have to incubate then sell them. I believe Backflip didn’t add the option to clear event and reward gifts because players could accidentally clear them, then there would be a lot of requests to retrieve erroneously deleted items. But I wish they could be cleared. It is annoying.
I think I must have been lucky. My park was only gifted one dragon from Deca during the RBC reset.
If your Runic Breeding Caves Egg History was not restored, or partially restored, please message me your Friend ID, and I will pass it on to Deca. They are looking at these parks right now.
Players who did not open their park over the last two days will likely have no Egg History, as the fix did not address their park. In addition, there could be other reasons that contributed to no or partial restoration.
My sister’s runic caves have not been restored yet. Her park id is DragonVale#5820630
Thank you so much! Her park info has been passed on to Deca. It’s after hours for Deca right now, but tomorrow they’ll continue to look into the issue.

Just my two cents... I might be in the minority here, but after all the... rant-y-ness? can't think of a better word... of the subreddit I wanna get it off my chest.
I understand these are big issues for you so you wanted to bring it up here. I quit visiting the subreddit specifically because it is so often whiney. Let’s try to leave that aspect of chat to them and keep this a friendly, welcoming place without their drama. The “crisis” is over. Let’s just play.

There's a reason why the Salty Sunday weekly automated threads exist... so the reddit doesn't get spammed with rants over issues like this. Now there are some rants that may be better off posted (I did one a while ago about the Offerwall when the feature was added; it received quite a few upvotes), though most are best put into the Salty Sunday thread, especially if they are short.
(Also, why is the quoting thing acting weird sometimes?)
The Original One is in all things. The Original One is nowhere at all. From all creations, over all creations, does Arceus watch over all.

Quoting is working fine for me. It's all in the way you hold your head. 😉
Thank you Deca for squashing the bug and restoring the eggs to the Runic Caves. Allowing us to keep the random dragons given was an added bonus! These will come in handy next time the Donation Boards roll around. 👍 😊
Spring was restored and the Vale was growing into green, but Blumi felt there was still something missing — there was no spring fever. As she walked near the Evermore Forest, she hear a cracking noise. When she looked up, CRACKLE was staring at her. 'Crackle, you are what’s missing for spring to fling', said Blumi. Crackle was flattered, but not convinced, 'Me? But I am only an egg.' Blumi smiled, 'Eggs are the beginning, when life begins, where dragons are born, and the start of a good meringue. We cherish the egg on this holiday because the future is in eggs. In the end, the egg is the beginning'. Crackle was beaming under his shell.
Have a cracking good time in the co-op with the cackling Crackle! Koalacrackle to all!
Since we pushed the fix for the reset of the Runic Breeding Caves, some of you have reached out to us to report that their history was not restored.
If your history was not restored or some of your eggs are missing, please reach out to our support team here - support.decagames.com/hc/en-us . They will be able to resolve this situation for you.
If you already have reported one of these issues to our Game Reps and you have provided your FriendID, your park will be taken care of until the end of the day. Please keep in mind that this is a manual process and it might take some time.
The team will also add an additional Double Day in the upcoming week as compensation for the inconvenience!
Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you DECA for the extra double day!! This is definitely compensation EC-wise.
I did see a post that someone asking about paid-for Runestones got the same response as what was posted on the original fix update, but I'm sure that's mostly because of the flood of emails at the moment.
Since I have nothing more I can try for in the Rift, I decided to try for Sakura and Sumi since I love their designs. I got Sakura first try, plant trait - she looks even more like a cherry blossom tree now and I love it!
But trying for Sumi...
My first try was a traited Daylily. The Koalas sure have a sense of humour!
I hatched it out of spite and called it 'Too Late Now' (or rather '2LateNow' because of the character limit), a reference to an inside joke I've had with my dad for about eight years now. Which is even more ironic, since the other half of the joke is 'Good luck with that!'
And I just got another one! Koalas, I love you, but it's stopped being funny now...

Thank you Deca for squashing the bug and restoring the eggs to the Runic Caves. Allowing us to keep the random dragons given was an added bonus! These will come in handy next time the Donation Boards roll around. 👍 😊
I may be wrong but I don’t think using the extra gifted RBC glitch dragons will work on the donation boards. We are only given the option of hatching the dragon. We don’t get the normal pop up where we can choose to hatch, display, sell or release (donate during times when donation boards exist). I received a dragon that I already have rifted but don’t have the rifted pedestal and it will not let me display it, only hatch it.

That's what normally happens. You never get the hatch/pedestal/sell screen, apart from for traited dragons because they're instant and don't go to the hatchery, until you've placed it in the hatchery. Otherwise you wouldn't have to place the gift dragons in the hatchery at all - you'd be instantly hatching them.
I've never played during donation board events but from screenshots, I've seen that the 'donate' button shows up in the hatch screen that happens once a dragon has finished incubating. So once you collect the dragon from the gifts, it'll be sent to your hatchery; then once you hatch the dragon, you'll have the hatch screen, like usual. During donation events, that'll have the donate option.
As for your traited dragons, I don't know. I think there may be a bug (see my comment below): Some of my glitch gift dragons have an issue. Their icon is their baby form, not their egg. On the subreddit, I saw some people were having issues with the bugged gift dragons vanishing when being collected instead of being sent to the hatchery. I wonder whether it might be these double-glitch dragons that have their baby form icon instead of their egg. (Update: even if that was the culprit, it didn't occur for me so has been fixed.)
Here is the screenshot. (As you can see, this small park of mine had some nice gifts 😂) Snowy Bronze is a baby, not an egg.
I tried to hatch the untraited twin Snowy Bronze. I had a space in my hatchery but it told me there was no space in a habitat. I then cleared a space in an Olympus habitat and it let me hatch it. No vanishing happened. Interestingly, I already have a twin Snowy Bronze in that park. I assume that means this would have been traited if this small park was level 28+, which would explain why it skipped the hatchery stage.
There were no other baby icon gifts besides the rainbow one in my main park, which incidentally means that both of the baby icon gifts were technically traited; also, there were no other traited gifts so the baby icon glitch had occurred in all cases of a "traited" dragon. The rainbow safely hatched without vanishing but as braff20 noted, there was no option to pedestal/sell/release it; only to immediately put it in a habitat.
Trying to hatch an actually untraited dragon, it needs to be sent to the hatchery, so that's like usual as the pop-up will show when it's done incubating. This means that non-traited dragons are normal and can definitely be used in donation board events. Traited dragons are immediately hatched as braff20 noted however, without the pop-up, so cannot be used in donation board events, and also can't be pedestalled or released (they can be sold since you can just sell them once you've hatched them).
I wasn't sure whether this was normal or not because I couldn't remember whether, if you collected a traited dragon from your gifts, the pop-up was shown. So I claimed a light-traited Muse from an RBC in the third of my small parks. Its icon is the twin-traited egg and when I hatched it, it had the pop-up.
This means that there is an extra bug with the traited dragons that people got from the RBC bug (although non-traited dragons are fine). They are forced to be immediately hatched; given the fact they have a baby icon rather than an egg icon, I think the game thinks the dragon is already hatched and 'claiming' it is simply moving it to another habitat. This means, as braff20 noted, they can't be used in donation boards, since they can only be hatched and don't get the pop-up.
I do love a good DV mystery 😉😂
Update as of the event ending: I still think this isn't what usually happens. If you don't claim then you are given Motley eggs, so the only way to get a traited version anyway is if you have a twin Motley. I didn't in the park I tested this out so will have to wait till the next winter event to test whether twin-traited Motleys are immediately hatched without a pop-up... It doesn't matter anymore since it's been so long since the bug occurred, but I can't just leave a mystery unsolved 🤣

Yes, you are correct. When receiving a traited dragon from the RBCs in your gift menu, you are required to place the dragon in a habitat before you can then sell it. You do not get the option to sell, release or pedestal the egg.
If you receive a normal/twin dragon from the RBC glitch into your social menu, it needs to be placed in the nursery. From there, you would be given the option to hatch, sell, or pedestal as normal. (Or donate if the donation boards were in play.)

I don't think that there is a bug with how these traited dragons need to be collected from the social menu - it is probably working as it always has. Usually, players would only receive these random dragons if they forget to collect any dragons from their RBCs before they close.
The same with the dragons showing a baby icon in the social menu from the RBCs. It is not a bug. This is consistent with how you select the dragons from the RBC. They show a picture of the baby dragon - this is so you can tell which Monolith/Snowflake you have bred or are claiming. 😊
(I can see your screenshot of collecting the rifted Muse dragon, but there is not a screenshot showing with the Snowy Bronze)
If players are having dragons 'disappear' when collecting, they will need to raise a support ticket with Deca.

I claimed the Muse from an RBC. Its icon was an egg and it had a pop-up. The Snowy Bronze's icon was a baby and it didn't have the pop-up, hence why there was no screenshot of it. The only difference was that the Snowy Bronze dragon came from the RBC bug, and I chose to claim Muse.
Do you mean that, if the RBCs run out, and a traited dragon is selected at random, its icon is usually a baby and it does usually skip the pop-up stage? It hadn't occurred to me that actually choosing to claim a traited dragon would result in a different scenario to having the traited dragon be randomly chosen for you, but this is the only way this wouldn't be a bug.

I have always collected my dragons from the RBC so have never had this situation happen to me. But it makes sense and seems like the most likely outcome.
I do like the idea of the RBC automatic gift being set to give you new dragons. It could go new dragon > if no new dragons available, twin-traited dragons > twin dragons.
I really like this idea too, as in case something like this pops up again, the cave would prioritize dragons whicha are yet to be owned.
Here's my idea for a RBC priority list:
Choose at random from all unowned dragons the player breeds in the RBC.
If no dragons are unowned, choose at random a twin dragon in which the player does not already have a twin of.
If all bred dragons are twins, choose at random a (twin) rift dragon in which the player does not already have a Rift variant of (twins are NOT factored here).
If the player already has every dragon with a rift trait, follow standard protocol and pick at random from the pool.
IF the cave was not used at all during the course of the event, randomly give the player a Motley Dragon or Dargon Dragon chosen at random.
lol love the last suggestion- I received a Motley as a random dragon, so I thought it was already coded this way! 😆😆
