The DragonVale Community Forum’s anniversary celebration continues with a brand new game. Do you think you’re good at the DV mini-game Name That Egg? Do you frequently race through the game and say to yourself, 'That was easy', or 'I wonder if anyone else can guess eggs as amazingly as I can?' Well, it’s time to find out! Participants will compete with fellow players to see who can correctly name the most eggs.
The wonderful and wondrous First Ostrich created a replica of DragonVale’s Name That Egg. You can find it here. They have put a lot of work into the site and graciously agreed to let us use it for a contest. Forum staff have helped to make the replica more challenging with more eggs for Hard Mode, and First Ostrich also added all the latest dragon eggs, so it’s up to date.
For this contest, not all the eggs in the game will appear because the eggs have been curated for Hard Mode. There is a time limit to guess each egg, similar to the time limit in DV’s mini-game when there is a golden chest.
HOW TO PLAY NAME THAT EGG
1. Open the Name That Egg replica and in the Settings select Hard Mode and Chest Timer.
2. Press the Begin button. An egg will show with four multiple-choice answers. Choose the correct answer before the timer runs out. Try to guess as many eggs as you can in a row.
3. As soon as the Chest Timer runs out, or you answer incorrectly, take a screenshot.
4. Post the screenshot of your results on this thread. You can either use an image host or the Forum’s Attachment feature to post your screenshot (please see the next post for instructions on how to use Attachments).
• The screenshot needs to include your score and the Settings with Hard Mode and Chest Timer check marked.

If you incorrectly guessed an egg, the screenshot will look like this, depicting one less Correct point than the number of Total Tries. The difference can only be one. Stop playing as soon as you miss. (You don’t need a screenshot of the missed egg because the game resets to a new egg fairly quickly.)
5. You can enter the contest and post your results as many times as you want. If someone beats your score, play again and post another screenshot with your new score.
6. After running out of time or answering incorrectly, you will need to refresh the website to get the Begin button to show again. You can also press the Reset Score button to start over, but the Begin will remain greyed out.
7. When the contest concludes on April 15th at 14:00 UTC (DV’s daily reset) the player with the highest score wins.
8. Name That Egg relies on the honour system, so please be fair and have fun!
PRIZES
The winner of Name That Egg will receive a brand new Forum prize — an animated background of falling stars for all of their posts (see it in action on a post by a Forum admin or mod). The new background and the title Name That Egg Winner will grace your profile for 30 days, along with a temporary badge from a spring water balloon fight!
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• You must be a Forum member to participate in Name That Egg because the prizes consist of bling for your profile, and guests do not have profiles. But membership is easy, only takes a minute, and just requires an email address. We would absolutely love to have you aboard!
• Name That Egg is open to all Forum members, including staff!

Attachments will allow members to post images without using a third-party image host. You can now post screenshots and photos directly from your device or computer.
Some important information about Attachments:
• You must be a Forum member and logged in to use Attachments.
• You will need to use the Desktop version of the Forum. The mobile version removes a significant portion of the Forum's features, including Attachments. To access the Desktop version on a mobile device, at the bottom of every page, simply tap 'Desktop' in the lower right corner.
• All attachments are posted as thumbnails. Click on the thumbnail to expand the image.
How to add images to your posts using Attachments
Click on the thread you want to post on and click the Reply button in the upper right corner of the thread.
The posting page will open. Type your message. When you’re done, click the Add Attachment button.
The Add Attachment window will open. Click the + Add files… button (outlined in blue). If the image is on your device, select Photo Library. Your device’s photos will open. (From your photos, tap on the image and select Add in the upper right corner to add the image. The layout and text may be different for each device’s photos, these instructions are from an iPad Pro.)
The image will upload. When the loading bar turns green, press the Insert button and the image will appear in your post. Click Done to close the Add Attachment window and the Create Post button to publish.
Posting images larger than 1 MB
Attachments have a limit of 1 MB. But a screenshot of your Name That Egg score should not exceed 1MB. If it does, please use imResizer. This is a free online image compressor that will reduce your image to 1 MB or less without greatly affecting the quality or dimension of the image.

I wanted to beat my score, managed to get one more. I stumbled thanks to thinking Oaris' egg was Grove's this time around. (I selected save score just so I could remember what I got last time.)
Also well done Arceus, 60 is insane!
Will this site still be available after this competition is over? I really enjoy Name the Egg but it's an expensive hobby for someone who doesn't have thousands of gems to spare, and in-game they are usually pretty easy. I want to see how high a score I can get but 4 days isn't long enough to satiate my Name the Egg cravings! 😆🤣

The replica should still be available. But I am working with the developer (who is amazing!), and we’re looking at creating other contests for the Forum, so the site could be down at times.

Beat my score; ended up running out of time on the last one.
I do have a suggestion for hard mode:
Add the hybrid and golden hybrid eggs, and make the answers be the different combinations for that hybrid. I have been tricked a couple of times in the real game because of this!

Maybe you might like to post about the extension on the event thread to encourage more participation?
I would also agree with this, right now it's only me and you. It's a bit lonely.
MinyaZ has also fiddled around a bit, although has decided not to share her score.
I would play, but it has taken a lot of training not to panic when I see the clock timer. I have MS and don’t move fast, so I do very poorly with timed activities. I tried to play once, but it caused a lot of anxiety and I don’t know the astrology eggs well and I got a low score. I will just continue to be awed by your score.
I am absolutely not in the league of Arceus or Kaleni at this game. Thanks a million for sharing the game. It is great fun and I really enjoyed giving it a go, but wow it was easy to make a mistake. I was in danger territory with every Zodiac egg and lots more beside. Most of my scores were beyond unworthy of posting but this one is somewhat more worthy, so here goes.

A new contest! This is so creative. The replica is very cool! I had a blast playing. Looks like people are a little shy about posting their score. The developer put a lot of work into it. It’s just for fun, nobody is going to judge you. Post whatever you have. Either that or people are waiting until the end to get the highest score in lol. Here’s my score. But I’m gonna keep trying. I love the replica!!

I got this score about 15 minutes ago. I was so happy I got triple digits I lost my concentration and messed up on an egg! 😆😭 I’m trying to beat the score, but so far I haven’t had much luck.
