Summer has arrived with house dragons and Olympic games in an arcane and medieval background. Enjoy the valour and jousting from the safety of the Pentournal Pagoda. The symbols of the five DragonVale houses, Blazing Gale, Hidden Bolt, Icy Torrent, Iron Blossom, and Mountain Sun, surround and protect the pagoda with the strength and will of the dragons. The Pentournal Pagoda is the perfect way to remember the Pentournament of the past and the Medieval of today. Simply rate all the Upheaval of the Medieval dragons before the event concludes on 26 June, and you will have access to the most coveted seats throughout the tenth century.
Since we have completed THREE years of Rate a Dragon there are now three previous summer awards to offer. Instead of the Pentournal Pagoda, you can choose Zoom Broom from last year’s Summerthings Magical, or if you prefer dragons over cleaning items, The Hat! from The Dragon Bandwagon, or if you prefer food over dragons, the Popcorn Stand from The Spectacular Spectacle. So many options! After you’re done rating the Upheaval of the Medieval dragons, message me, and Zoom Broom, The Hat!, or the Popcorn Stand will be added to your profile instead.

1. Animation 5/5, wisp's animation!! I love wisp's animation, also it makes sense cuz it bounces a big ball (I did notice its back legs sorta glitch out when it rides on the ball, but I don't care at all lmao)
2. Size (if you don’t own Jester, please check a friend’s park) 5/5
3. Price (10,500 Eggs) 3/5
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event 5/5

6. How would you rate Jester’s breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE) 5/5

JESTER DRAGON
1. Animation - 5/5 I love Wisp! One of my favorite dragons, so yeah, I love the animation!
2. Size (if you don’t own Jester, please check a friend’s park) - 5/5
3. Price (10,500 Eggs) - 5/5
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event - 5/5
5. Rate Jester’s design - 5/5
6. How would you rate Jester’s breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE) - 2/5 It’ll be hard to breed Jester when he’s available.
7. How much do you like Jester (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) - 3/5
Comments/feedback for Deca I love the ball! It looks great in the animation. There is a mistake with Jester’s back leg. When he’s on the ball, his leg disconnects from his body.

1. Animation - 1 - copies Wisp for no reason whatsoever. I see nothing in the description that would explain why its ball vanishes into nothing or squashes/inflates as it waves its tail. At the very least, it should say they learnt the magic from the Wisp dragons. Normally I rate 2-3 for animations/designs that are copied (depending on whether I like them/they’re suitable), but there were so many actually original, imaginative routes Deca could’ve gone down with this dragon’s animation, and they just chose to copy one — AGAIN! If Deca doesn’t want people to assume they’re being lazy with these reskins, they have GOT to make more actually original designs/dragons!
2. Size (if you don’t own Jester, please check a friend’s park) - 4 - pretty small especially when compared to Deca’s dragons. Oh wait, that’s because it’s a reskin!
3. Price (10,500 Magic) - 5
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event - 5
5. Rate Jester’s design - 2 - I love the colours but I am just SICK of reskins at this point
6. How would you rate Jester’s breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE) - 4 - the dragons are incredibly well-related and pretty easy to get, but there are a lot of elements in the mix. One of the parents should really have been Wisp
7. How much do you like Jester (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) - 2 - I really want to like it but I’m just so disappointed with Deca. Like I say its animation especially could have gone so many creative, fun ways. And they just... copied it. Again. Ugh.
Comments/feedback for Deca: In my opinion these reskins are a sign that the game is going too far into “bashing out new content to keep people engaged” territory. Maybe I’m just overly fed up because of how many there have been within the last few months alone, but it is WAY too much as of recently. Snowdrop was enough, especially since hawk/Lightmare didn’t get any credit for it. Then three in Flower Festival, the failed ‘pangolin’ dragon last event, and now Jester/Wisp, when Jester could’ve been so fresh and new and original. Just stop. Please!!!! I know Backflip did it with the opposite element hybrids, ghostlies and dragons like Bone/Scorch and Rainbow/Panlong/Bronze. But the hybrids had a REASON to be reskins. So did the ghostlies, and people really didn’t like them, so it’s not like Backflip was always let off the hook. Scorch/Bone being reskins offered an interesting theory about how Bone dragons come to be (whether Backflip intended it or not), Panlong and Rainbow were both very special/rare dragons back then so I’d say it’s fair enough, and while Bronze had less of a reason, random/unreasonable reskins happened rarely enough that it wasn’t as noticeable. If you’re going to use reskins, spread them out! There should be less than 8 in a year imo, because otherwise it’s an average of 1+ per event, which is just too much. And please make sure the dragon it’s copying is reasonable. And if there’s room for a creative, original design/animation, use it!
If you wanna be lazy, hold more design contests; fan-made dragons are great!
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event: 5
5. Rate Jester’s design: 4
6. How would you rate Jester’s breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE): 3
7. How much do you like Jester: 4.5
Comments/feedback for Deca: Baby Jester looks a bit goofy with his big teeth, while adult Jester reminds me of a playful, happy puppy with a ball. I like the bright colours. Jester is another dragon with a tongue problem. Why is it always hanging out of its mouth and doesn’t move at all? The breeding combo seems unnecessarily complicated. While either dragon isn’t too difficult to obtain, using both together contributes six elements to the mix. When Jester is available to be bred there are going to be approx 70 dragons as a result. Stage + Glass would have only added one extra element and Glass is also very colourful.
Please fix Jester’s back leg that disconnects from the rest of his body.
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event: 5
5. Rate Jester’s design: 5
6. How would you rate Jester’s breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE): 3.5, the parents make sense and are not too difficult to obtain. But with 6 elements in the combo, the breeding odds will be low, and with a number of fails.
7. How much do you like Jester: 3.5
Comments/feedback for Deca: The design and animation are fit for a jester dragon. But it is too goofy for my liking. What’s up with the tongues! 🤪😜😝🤪…😳
1. 5/5 Wisp in fancy dress! It’s the dream!! 2. 5/5 A little small perhaps but suits its size I think 3. 5/5 You know, I’d actually be happy to pay more for this one - bargain! 4. 5/5 Perfect fit 5. 5/5 Perfect design (both adult & baby) 6. 5/5 Makes sense 7. 5/5 Love it!

JESTER DRAGON
1. Animation-4
2. Size (if you don’t own Jester, please check a friend’s park)-4
3. Price (10,500 Eggs)-5
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event-5
5. Rate Jester’s design-5
6. How would you rate Jester’s breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE)-5 now this combo makes perfect sense!
7. How much do you like Jester (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!)-4 I usually don’t go for the cartoonish type designs, but this goofy dragon makes me smile 😃 which I suppose is a jesters job.
4 - It's good, but I wish the shadow on the ball was a separate asset. Being baked into the ball's sprite doesn't allow the design to mesh with the rest of the lighting of the game. If the shadow is a separate sprite that moves and expands with the ball, it'll be more cohesive with the other assets in the game.
Editing this: 2 - I hadn't realized this was a Wisp reskin when I first rated it, which means its incredibly unlikely that the shadow will ever become a separate asset, like I had hoped. I understand why reskins occur, but I still hate them.
2. Size (if you don’t own Jester, please check a friend’s park)
4 - A bit on the small side, but still good.
3. Price (10,500 Eggs)
4 - A tiny bit too high for a non-breedable non-Epic.
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event
5 - Jesters are medieval, it works.
5. Rate Jester’s design
1 - Hate it. It's overdesigned and busy. It takes a concept already used by the Motley Dragon and turns it into colorful vomit. The ball idea is fun, but I explained its flaw in the animation section.
6. How would you rate Jester’s breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE)
5 - Perfect combo, maybe could've swapped out Carnival with Binky or Motley, but Carnival's fine.
7. How much do you like Jester (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!)
3 - Please consider making the shadow a separate asset and this'll be a 4! It'll still be busy which is what's keeping it from a 5, but that's alright.
Comments/feedback for Deca
More dragons with this rendering style would be a good medium between the DECA and Backflip style dragons, making everything look more cohesive with each other.

1. Animation: 3/5, I would have given this a higher number if it weren't re-used from wisp. It's a shame because it gives a really boisterous, fun bounciness to this dragon that I'm glad was implemented because of how much personality it lends, but the reskin creates some glitches and oddities in the animation. I feel like this is a concept that lends itself to ideas, some goofy creative performances. It's especially disappointing on a dragon so focused on performance, which naturally puts a lot of focus on its display.
2. Size: 4/5, I'm quite glad this dragon is fairly small, for the sake of its performances to visitors; it looks like it could accidentally destroy a building with that ball.
3. Price (10,500 Eggs): 3/5
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event: 5/5
5. Rate Jester’s design: 3/5, I'm personally not a fan at all of clown/jester type characters, so this is less of a reflection on the design itself and more affected by subjectivity. It's got a lot of fun and varied bright colours, I love the gimmick with the magical bouncy ball, and it just seems like such a goofy and cheerful dragon that gives the impression it's doing its best to make everybody smile, especially with that cartoony face.
6. Breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE): 5/5, makes perfect sense for a performing dragon like this one!
7. How much do you like Jester: 3/5, Not my cup of tea and I'm disappointed with the re-used animations, but for the concept I think it was really well executed and is very cute; despite how this theme very easily could have slipped into creepy, it's pretty endearing.
2. Size (if you don’t own Jester, please check a friend’s park) 5
3. Price (10,500 Eggs) 5
4. How well does Jester fit the theme of the event 5
5. Rate Jester’s design 3 The face is too goofy for mr, I really don't like the silly teeth
6. How would you rate Jester’s breeding combo (CARNIVAL + STAGE) 5
7. How much do you like Jester (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 2.5 I would really like it if it weren't for that face, those teeth
