Summer has arrived with house dragons and Olympic games in an arcane and medieval background. Enjoy the valour and jousting from the safety of the Pentournal Pagoda. The symbols of the five DragonVale houses, Blazing Gale, Hidden Bolt, Icy Torrent, Iron Blossom, and Mountain Sun, surround and protect the pagoda with the strength and will of the dragons. The Pentournal Pagoda is the perfect way to remember the Pentournament of the past and the Medieval of today. Simply rate all the Upheaval of the Medieval dragons before the event concludes on 26 June, and you will have access to the most coveted seats throughout the tenth century.
Since we have completed THREE years of Rate a Dragon there are now three previous summer awards to offer. Instead of the Pentournal Pagoda, you can choose Zoom Broom from last year’s Summerthings Magical, or if you prefer dragons over cleaning items, The Hat! from The Dragon Bandwagon, or if you prefer food over dragons, the Popcorn Stand from The Spectacular Spectacle. So many options! After you’re done rating the Upheaval of the Medieval dragons, message me, and Zoom Broom, The Hat!, or the Popcorn Stand will be added to your profile instead.
AWARD RULES
1. You must be a Forum member to receive an award because guest profiles are not retained.
2. Awards will display on your Profile page and mini profile. To see the awards, you’ll need to view the Forum in its desktop version since the mobile version does not support many features, including the full mini profile.
3. Awards will be permanent, but if you do not want them or would like them removed, just let me know.
4. If you prefer to not post publicly, you can message me your dragon ratings before the event concludes, and you will still receive the award.
5. Please be aware that awards will be added to your profile up to 12 days after the event concludes, depending on how busy the next event becomes, bug reports, schedules, and real life. Thank you for your patience.

1. Animation - 2 - I like the rolling in the air, but it doesn’t really fit, and it doesn’t do much more than that. It feels like maybe it was a reskin just because of how unrelated the animation is, but I don't know what it's of if it is, so I'll let it slide

3. Price (11,000 Magic) - 4.5 - if the prices were always reasonable I'd rate slightly lower because I do think 11k is too high for a clone-only, but I nonetheless appreciate that this event was more reasonable than usual

5. Rate Plate’s design - 5 - it’s simply perfect. The colours are really well chosen, it signifies what it is really well while still obviously being a dragon, there are a bunch of aspects to its design but not so many it becomes cluttered, and I love the little tears and scars to show it’s been in many battles. It feels very Tutan-like while, amazingly, not being a reskin. Thank Kairos... (Unless I’ve missed something that is...)

Comments/feedback for Deca: Its head on the loading screen reminded me of Construct but even though it would’ve worked I’m so, SO glad this wasn’t a reskin of it. It feels original. I hope it is.

Comments/feedback for Deca : I like that Plate is wearing armour. Armour is a big feature of medieval times. Having a different colour for the wings is a nice touch and adds interest. Looking forward to seeing the trait placement on Plate. Good breeding combo, not too difficult to obtain. Having fire in the combo is redundant as it is already included in Armament. This only confuses newer players.
5 - It's good, nothing special, but nothing to complain about.

3 - It's fine, but it's already the Fuefuego Dragon's breeding combo. I think (ARMAMENT + metal + fire) would be better. Yes, both those elements are already in the Armament Dragon, but metal and fire are how you perform metallurgy. Alternatively, you could make it (ARMAMENT + IRON) or (ARMAMENT + LAVA) so the elements stay the same, even though both of those combos would have the Fuefuego Dragon as a possible result.

1. Animation: 3/5, I like the sort of rhinocerous quality it has, it seems combative and warrior-like, but its movements don't give a lot of character to it, or draw attention to the armour specifically. I feel like it should act like actual jointed armour, clanking against itself and drawing attention to the panels. The way it is now, it's animated as though it's skin, which is weird and much less fun.
2. Size: 5/5, It's fun to imagine a wizard the size of the guests making armour that big!

Rate Plate’s design: 4/5, I absolutely fell in love with this dragon from the design of the baby and its profile image, I think everything about the design is wonderful, from the plate armour itself to the subtle scars and tears on this dragon that really make it look war-torn. However, one massive issue I have with this dragon are the wing colours; the main colour palette of these blue-greys and accent yellows are amazing, with the blue eye standing out but harmonious with the cool-grey palette. I really feel like the purple wings throw this off significantly, especially given the huge size. The red as a spot colour clashes with it horribly, when I feel like it could have worked great on its own as a sort of suggestion of violence or anger. I usually love purple, but here it just detracts from the greys, and is actively working against the yellow and red. Blue-greys as main, yellow as an accent with red as a tiny spot colour would be perfect. Even reworking this colour scheme into the existing wings I think would make it more cohesive, though I think the wings should be much smaller (or even removed) to take up less focus overall on a dragon that has armour as its main gimmick, particularly when the wings aren't armoured.
6. Breeding combo (ARMAMENT + earth + fire): 4/5, Armament makes perfect sense, but I'm confused on the other two. Earth I guess makes sense given how it has a sort of similar, low to the ground body type as the Earth dragon, but seems like another metal would be an obvious choice if we're already repeating elements from armament.
7. How much do you like Plate: 4/5, The idea is great and I love most of the execution, even the backstory is wonderful. I'd love more dragons based on different types of armour, there's so many creative designs already there and plenty of real-life animals have natural exoskeletons for "armour", so it wouldn't be a stretch to incorporate more, especially to the metal element. Helmets and ceremonial engravings especially I feel like have a lot of potential for armour dragons.
