I'm motivated to open up this new thread after watching one of the most interesting, captivating movies last night that I have ever seen. It's called "The Way" and it starts Martin Sheen in a phenomenally authentic role. Written, produced and directed by his son Emilio Estavez, the topic is the Camino de Santiago trek to the tomb of St. James. It's a pilgrimmage that people have been making for over 1,000 years.
It's fundamentally about how the trek is a metaphor for the human condition. It's deeply spiritual and not at all religious. Inspiring, captivating without being didactic, pedantic or preachy. Watching it was an "experience" for me - I've never seen a movie quite like it.
I'm very interested to see what my fellow travelers here have to say about it..

Mine would have to be Labrinthe starring Jennifer Connolly. I love its fantastical element and that even though its quite an old movie, i still find things i havent seen before!! Love love love

You will find "The Way" at Amazon, both on DVD and streaming. I *really* like Amazon Streaming - they have a huge selection, much larger than Netflix. All you need is a set top box. Roku and Sony make good ones.

Any idea whether Amazon Streaming works with Apple TV? I haven't kept up, but I believe late last year there was talk that they were trying to reach an agreement.
Man, I feel outclassed...mainly I watch old Bugs Bunny cartoons & nature/cultural documentaries...right now watching Taboo on Netflix each night till I get through the series. I'm supposed to finally have a 'free' day on Saturday & I hope so as I have 400-600 minutes worth of new Looney Tunes Dvd's I want to watch, been collecting the Spotlight Collection set of DVD's.

OMG! What is it about that show that stinks you in?? For me, it's all the interesting things that get brought in. One of my guilty pleasures has been "Dance Moms"... it's like a train wreck and I can't look away!

Haha this made me laugh because last weekend we were trying to describe this show to my 91 year old mother-in-law and she kept asking us why we would want to watch a show called "Porn Stars"! Perhaps her hearing is starting to go?

Dance Moms? Haven't heard of that one. Although, my daughter was heavily involved in a dance studio for 15 years and I probably just about anything they could come up with. ;D

Too funny!!! She would like pops...
Perhaps. Am thinking she would take more to Chumlee. She has really taken a liking to the Kardashians *shudder* lately. Not understanding that at all!
