I loved Avatar, Gone is 60 seconds, Hunger Games and too many to list.
Watching now Game of Thrones. I didn't get much sleep last night...too much on my mind so this morning after I got up and checked into the forum I watched episode 3 and 4 of the first season. I hope to watch episode 5 tonight. Hopefully if I can get a little time I will get caught up and waiting eagerly every week in the next couple weeks.
I am also waiting patiently for True Blood...can't wait!
I'm reading the 3rd book Forever in the trilogy The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater Not my usual read but they have been pretty good.
Last season TrueBlood was just off the chart. I heard HBO pretty close stuck to the books. Can't wait for the new season.
Ive just started the last book available in the sookie stackhouse series and they are similar, but after the russel edgington line of story it goes abit south. Not that i dont love it, but it deviates quite a bit from the book.
Really enjoyed Season 1 of this. Struggled with Season 2 (what they hell was going on?!) Could not finish Season 3. My wife assures me the books are much better and I might look for an audiobook version of the series when I've finished the Game of Thrones ... Quintology?
True blood watched it to season 4 or 5 not sure now, but it seemed to be the final in Australia, admittedly we did get it all from a friend so please if there is more I would love to know
True Blood Season 5 will start June 10th exactly one week after the finale of Game of Thrones. I would expect there to be a lot more seasons...

I can't wait to read them. One of these days I will get them started...
I am totally into science fiction/ fantasy, both reading and tv/ movies. I started reading sci-fi/ fantasy with Authors like Andre Norton and Anne McCaffery before I was a teenager and have co tuned to read sci-fi to this day. I have a huge tbr pile, but the next ones on my list are some by Anne bishop.
I loved avatar, and I am intending to see hunger games.
In terms of tv series, I love things like Farscape, Buffy, doctor who, and I just finished watching torchwood miracle day. I am currently watching game of thrones. I haven't read the books yet, but decided to watch the series first, then read the books.
Woooohooo, DOCTOR WHO!!!!!
Sorry, just had to!
Um, yeah, as you may be able to tell I am a HUGE Doctor Who fan! I've only watched the newer series (from Doctor#9/Chris Eccleston) but I'm kinda obsessed with it at the moment.
As is probably already obviously from my signature and message under my avatar, Doctor 10/David Tennant is my favourite. dang but I love that man! (Seriously, I could watch the gif in my signature all day *drool*, heh) I cried and cried when he regenerated into Doctor 11 (in fact that series has just been repeated here and I spent the whole episode fighting back the tears as I knew it was coming!) but I do like 11/Matt Smith too.
I was not really a sci-fi girl growing up (whilst I enjoyed both Star Wars and Star Trek, I wasnt a huge fan) but I got into Red Dwarf (a British comedic sci-fi TV show - and they are making a new series ;D ) through my boyfriend when I was 18 and have gotten more into other sci-fi as time has passed.
I know I'd like Buffy if I could watch it again now but I only saw bits and pieces when it was actually first aired. Torchwood is fantastic (how could it not be when it's a Doctor Who spin off ?! ) but unfortunately I missed lots of the first episodes and haven't caught anything since 'Children of the Earth'/the series was UK made.
I've read some 'pure' sci-fi (Asimov) and enjoyed it but I'd say my tastes generally run more into the YA (young adult) supernatural/dystopian now. I'll probably say more on my book tastes in a separate post though, heh.
For now I'll leave you with - DOCTOR WHO!! ;D
LOL there is some more info for me. I am quickly learning about the ever so popular Dr Who that I keep seeing posted here and there!
Im yet to read anything else of hers as at my book store they always only have books 2 and 3! Ive tried ordering them twice and both times i go in weeks after ive ordered them and apparently the order slip has been lost!! Grr!!
Try the book depository website - it's a UK based company and they are so cheap it's not funny and they don't charge for postage! Even shipping them here to me in Australia there's no way I could get books cheaper! I swear by them!!! Look it up! They ship to anywhere!
love Disney movies and Pixar too I couldn't pick a favourite as they are all fab but I did love all dogs go to heaven when I was younger and would still cry if I seen it now ..........and Bucky my eeeewww ewwww ewwww movies are saw 1-5 and final destination eww ewwwww eeewwwwww lmao x x x x vicky

In fact, there's a bit of a funny story about how I came to watch it the first time: When I was in late primary school (so about age 11 or 12 or so) I spent many weekends staying over with a good friend, Karen, at her Dad's place. On these weekends we'd also quite often go to the video store to pick a movie and the worker's there kept recommending Labyrinth. Now Karen and I took a look at the case and scoffed - it looked much too much like a 'kids' movie for out 'mature tastes' so we never rented it.
Time passed and I was home from school, sick. My Mum came home with a video as a surprise and guess what it was? Of course, Labyrinth. I groaned internally but decided I was bored and sick enough to give it a try anyway...and instantly fell in love.
Now, as an adult it remains a favourite (ah, my silly younger self deeming it too immature!) and I still enjoy the deeper layers of humour and innuendo as well as the more obvious, magical adventure.
One of my favourite quotes from the movie is: "I ask for so little; just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave." - Jareth
is this the one with David Bowie and they sing "you remind me of the babe " "what babe" " the babe with the power " " what power " " the power of voodoo" " you do" "do what" " remind me of the babe " lmao ,because if it is I absolutely love this film too I had a major crush on David Bowie in this film when i was about 14 .....is that weird lol x vicky x

That's the only thing coming to my mind, but it's not very SciFi.
I cheated and googled Phibes and yes Vincent Price The Abominable is what came up!
if you haven't seen it the abominable dr phibes is a film that was out in the seventies. Creeeeepy. Oops showing age now!! I haven't seen it on sky yet so don't know if anyone here has even heard of it. Wasn't one of my favourites. 😊

it was a classic, my problem was I went to see it with a boyfriend, real gent, he went off with his mates after leaving me to walk home alone....... my imagination was playing tricks on me. If I remember right iw was on with Hands og the ripper, did you see that as well?
I'm almost finished with the first season of Game of Thrones. I'm on the last episode. The emotions have been running wild for me on the last episode I watched...2nd to last of the season and now the last episode. I can only imagine how it would be with reading the books. I'm sad, furious, curious and everything in between since I am still left hanging and only minutes into this last episode. Can't wait to start the 2nd season and I think I will have to read the books very soon....

Quite the shocker eh? I remember reading these books years ago when I came to *that* part. The tv series did a great job of hiding the event and it was fun seeing the reactions from all my friends when it happened.
Oh and read the books Shelly. As good as the show is they don't really hold a candle to the books (like most adaptations)

Oh yes..major shocker. LOL I don't want to give anything away either...yes.."that" part.
I will read them for sure and probably pretty soon. I figured that I am missing so much that it is not even funny. Can't wait. Thanks Neil!
I just finished the first season finale. I loved the end! While my emotions are still running high I am happy the ending with not reading the books ahead of time of course. I can't wait to watch the first few episodes. I know that #3 is on tonight but I have a concert to go to so I won't be here to get caught up and watch it but I do believe I will be on track and eagerly awaiting next weeks new episode. ;D
