So the amount of EC you earn from incubating/breeding is related to what you breed?
The amount of EC you earn is equal to the incubation/breeding time. One EC for each hour. But for Plant, its incubation is only seconds, so it’s the best to use for EC if you don’t mind the tedium.
The cut-off is 20 hours. If the dragon is more than 20 hours, you’ll still get 20 EC (on regular days and 40 on doubles). Some dragons don’t follow the one EC for each hour and will either give more or less EC, but most follow the rule. And pedestals can sometimes give 2 EC more (you have to place the pedestal to earn the EC).
It’s frustrating not to have any drawing skills. I have what I believe are 2 good design ideas. One for a Moon element dragon and one for a Rainbow/Treasure habitat. Alas, i don’t know how to make them pretty enough for anyone to like them, even though they are beautiful in my imagination!
You don’t need to have drawing skills to enter the contest. You can create a collage, write a description, or use any form of depiction (except AI, which is frowned upon).
I hope you’ll consider entering the contest, Harwood! 💕
I took your advice Adlerist and posted a description of a habitat on reddit. It doesn’t include all 4 of Minyas requests, but 3 out of 4 isn’t bad. It’s a 3 tiered habitat for Rainbow and Treasure dragons - and it has some water! I’m late to the contest but maybe I’ll get a couple upvotes before it’s over. No other entries include dragons flying THROUGH water.

I really like the sound of your habitat harwood. Three tiers sound amazing and having the dragons fly through the water from one tier to the next would be wonderful to see. 😊
🥚 Claim all daily event rewards, including the final egg at the Sunken Treasure
(Remember, if you’re claiming a traited-twin dragon, you can select the trait you want: tap the Day 38 prize; 'Choose a Dragon' will open, tap the '?' on the dragon’s listing. The dragon’s profile card will show and you can see what the trait looks like on the dragon. If you don’t like the trait, close Choose a Dragon and the Sunken Treasure, reopen, and you’ll be offered a different trait. Repeat until the desired trait appears. Note: You will only be offered traits you do not have unlocked. If you have all the traits unlocked for the selected dragon, you’ll receive a random trait.)
‼️ At the next daily reset, 19 August, 14:00 UTC, the event island disappears, and Doubloon collection will end. For the next two days, until 21 August at 14:00 UTC, players can buy items at the City of Atlantis (event market). During this time, players can still breed any of the dragons in the event market (except the new ones, Redfrill, Shelly, and Kelpie — these dragons are clone only).
Not sure which dragon to choose? How about a dragon that’s required in other breeding combos? Or has a low breeding percentage? This post lists the event dragons in breeding combos and has a chart with the percentages. Many thanks to MinyaZ, Quil, and RayRayYash for putting the information together!
The best thing to buy and sell with any excess event currency is large Treasure Habitats. These take 12 hours to build and only 10 will fit on a standard island. If you are close to your habitat cap, you may be limited with the number you can buy.

Harwood, I absolutely adore your contest submission! I gave you a big upvote! I’d love to see your habitat in the game and would definitely purchase many. Those dragons will be living their best life basking in the pond, travelling from tier to tier.

We’re leaving the deepest depths, slowly ascending to the surface
The sunlight is beginning to shine through…
At tomorrow’s daily reset (Wednesday, August 21st), the Deepest Depths is departing from the Vale. So be sure to make all your oceanic purchases today. If you’re wondering what to buy in the event market, MinyaZ has put together a list of dragons required in locked breeding combos and calculated the items with the best Doubloons to DC exchange. If you want to purchase dragons that are difficult to breed, the above-linked post has a chart created by RayRayYash with the event dragons’ breeding/cloning percentages (percentages are from Quil’s DV Compendium).
To give you plenty of time to shop, the deadline for the Rate a Dragon threads has been extended. You have until Friday, August 23rd to complete your feedback and ratings. If you need more time, please let me know. And don't forget to vote for your favourite Deepest Depths dragons — they can't sparkle without you!

Pack your pencils We’ve left the deep sea for school and studies
Do you recognise who’s whizzing around behind the clouds?
Someone’s got the zoomies!

I've been wanting to see the dragon featured on Mrs. Murphy's school of spellwork and Sorcery since the decoration was released last year for Summerthings Magical 1. Super excited!
Also, this is perfect timing since most schools around here have their first day back today.
Redfrill and Sipho are the top dragons of the Deepest Depths
The race to 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas began with no false starts. Sipho and Leviathan were the first to descend beyond the sunlight, but it didn’t take long for Redfrill and Aquatech to catch them. Shelly hitched a ride on Quadruple Leap Year, Kelpie pulled them further into the waters, and Grin guided the way with its glowing esca. Leviathan wormed into the lead but was quickly distracted by a glorious bioluminescent light show from a firefly squid. Meanwhile, Redfrill demonstrated its remarkable agility with swift, deep dives, and Sipho glided into the depths in steady grace. In the end, Sipho and Redfrill easily reached 20,000 leagues first and touched the ocean floor for the win.
🥇 Redfrill, Sipho
🥈 Leviathan
🥉 Aquatech

The City of Atlantis has been added to your mini-profile, providing memories of the deep-sea adventure and the wonderful creatures that lurk beneath in the dark waters. Since we have completed three years of Rate a Dragon there are now three previous paradise awards to offer. Instead of the City of Atlantis, you can choose the Pyramids from last year’s Dunes of Magic, the Ikatako Keg (Inconspicuous Barrel) from Pirates in Paradise II, or the Jolly Roger Dragon from Pirates of Paradise. Please message me, and the award will be added to your profile instead. Members who rated all the dragons for two consecutive events for the first time also received the Lucky Koala award!
We’ve long since dried off the salty seawater, as we returned to school with the continuing education of Summethings Magical II. This thread will be locked soon and filed away in the Dragon Library. When you have a chance, peruse the old tomes and revisit the mythical paradise of the Deepest Depths!
