Summer vacation has ended, and the wizards and witches have returned to school. The curriculum is packed with Sorcery Studies, Chemistry Conjuring, Broom Mechanics, Vale History, Psychic Physics, Potion Economics, Alchemy Algebra, Witchcraft Crafts, and of course, Dragon Training. Remember your lessons and how you taught the Gryphus dragon to fly with the Dragon’s Flight award permanently affixed to your profile. Study groups and flashcards are old school. Secret groups and flashy magic are the new way at Mrs Murphy's School. Simply rate all the dragons before the event concludes on 9 October, and the Dragon’s Flight award will accompany your diploma.
Since we have completed three years of Rate a Dragon there are now three previous summer awards to offer. Instead of the Dragon’s Flight, you can choose the Stargazer from last year’s Camping Under the Stars II, the Astral Spire from Camping Under the Stars, or Bluetooth the Bluebird from Into the Wild. So many options! After you’re done rating the Summerthings Magical II dragons, message me, and the Stargazer, Astral Spire, or Bluebird will be added to your profile instead.
AWARD RULES
1. You must be a Forum member to receive an award because guest profiles are not retained.
2. Awards will be displayed on your Profile page and mini-profile. To see the awards, you’ll need to view the Forum in its desktop version since the mobile version does not support many features, including the full mini-profile.
3. Awards will be permanent, but if you do not want them or would like them removed, just let me know.
4. If you prefer to not post publicly, you can message me your dragon ratings before the event concludes, and you will still receive the award.
5. Please be aware that awards will be added to your profile up to 12 days after the event concludes, depending on how busy the next event becomes, bug reports, schedules, and real life. Thank you for your patience.

4. How well does Hex fit the theme of the event: 5
5. Rate Hex’s design: 5
6. How would you rate Hex’s breeding combo (APOCALYPSE + SWAMP): 4
7. How much do you like Hex: 4.5
Comments/feedback for Deca: Hex has one of the best animations recently. I love the frogs and Hex freezing after licking one is hilarious. Nice detail on the wings and great contrasting colour with the body. Keeping the same posture when flying seems a bit stiff and not very aero dynamic. Apocalypse already contributes four elements, adding swamp gives five elements to the breeding pool and will result in many long fails when Hex is available to be bred.
1. 5/5 Perfect animation, creative & fun 2. 4/5 An unusual complaint from me but could be bigger 3. 4/5 A usual complaint from me, could be cheaper 4. 5/5 A great fit & good backstory 5. 5/5 Fab design & the tired wings are an added bonus 6. 3/5 Ouch at some of those fails 7. 5/5 Love it

1. Animation 5/5
2. Size (if you don’t own Hex, please check a friend’s park) 5/5, thank you for changing the size, this would have been a lot lower had it not been changed
3. Price (13,000 Magic) 3/5
4. How well does Hex fit the theme of the event 3.5/5
5. Rate Hex’s design 4/5
6. How would you rate Hex’s breeding combo (APOCALYPSE + SWAMP) 5/5
7. How much do you like Hex (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 4/5
3. Price (13,000 Magic): 3.5, it is a bit expensive considering the 1% cloning odds
4. How well does Hex fit the theme of the event: 3, not sure how it fits into this back to school magic theme, even though its backstory mentions exchange students and magic
5. Rate Hex’s design: 5
6. How would you rate Hex’s breeding combo (APOCALYPSE + SWAMP): 4
7. How much do you like Hex: 5
Comments/feedback for Deca: It is difficult to clone with a number of long fails. However, I like this dragon a lot, with its design and the animation, although its movements look a bit rigid. Love the tattered wings too. Just don’t think it fits the theme that well. I think it would be better suited for the Halloween event.

1. Animation: 3/5, Though this is entirely for the effort of incorporating the frogs! The animation on the dragon itself is extremely lazy, the way the pose remains entirely immoveable even when flying is terrible. It's even been animated to rock back and forth as if it's frustrated with how little it can move, like a frustrated sentient goblet. At least the wings are a nice surprise when they appear?
2. Size: 4/5, Intimidating and huge, especially with those wings!
3. Price (13,000 Magic): 1/5, Awfully expensive.
4. How well does Hex fit the theme of the event: 1/5, I'm entirely lost on this one. I agree that it seems more like a Halloween dragon than a summer dragon, the mention of exchange students in the description is extremely tacked on and does nothing to make it fit with the academia theme at all.
5. Rate Hex’s design: 4/5, I love how unique and imposing the head is especially, the eye motif and demonic horns combined with the strange flat face give a really otherworldly, threatening, serpentine vibe. The tusks and extra bones down the back help too, as well as the eye motif being continued over the wings like creepy hex sigils. I'm not a fan of the clashing green wings, though they help it seem more poisonous. I'm especially not a fan of the bright red frogs that hop in every once in a while...? Am I missing something? They freeze it when licked...? Is this the single weirdest ATLA frozen toad reference??? The wiki seems to think it's related to how the basilisk can petrify victims... It seems like a stretch, even with the basilisk's vague connection to frogs.
6. Breeding combo (APOCALYPSE + SWAMP): 3/5
7. How much do you like Hex: 4/5, I love the colour and the genuinely threatening base design of this dragon, but I feel like I'm missing a joke or some bit of context, and the extra colours of the frogs and ice throw off the balance of the palette for me, which was on thin ice with the complimentary wings.
