Summer vacation has ended, and the wizards and witches have returned to school. The curriculum is packed with Sorcery Studies, Chemistry Conjuring, Broom Mechanics 101, Vale History, Psychic Physics, Potion Economics, Alchemy Algebra, Witchcraft Crafts, and of course, Dragon Training. Remember your lessons and how you taught the Gryphus dragon to fly with the Dragon’s Flight award permanently affixed to your profile. Study groups and flashcards are old school. Secret groups and flashy magic are the new way at Mrs Murphy's School. Simply rate all the dragons before the event concludes on 9 October, and the Dragon’s Flight award will accompany your diploma.
Since we have completed three years of Rate a Dragon there are now three previous summer awards to offer. Instead of the Dragon’s Flight, you can choose the Stargazer from last year’s Camping Under the Stars II, the Astral Spire from Camping Under the Stars, or Bluetooth the Bluebird from Into the Wild. So many options! After you’re done rating the Summerthings Magical II dragons, message Adlerist, and the Stargazer, Astral Spire, or Bluebird will be added to your profile instead.
AWARD RULES
1. You must be a Forum member to receive an award because guest profiles are not retained.
2. Awards will be displayed on your Profile page and mini-profile. To see the awards, you’ll need to view the Forum in its desktop version since the mobile version does not support many features, including the full mini-profile.
3. Awards will be permanent, but if you do not want them or would like them removed, just let me know.
4. If you prefer to not post publicly, you can message me your dragon ratings before the event concludes, and you will still receive the award.
5. Please be aware that awards will be added to your profile up to 12 days after the event concludes, depending on how busy the next event becomes, bug reports, schedules, and real life. Thank you for your patience.

Comments/feedback for Deca
The post below is a template you can copy/paste into your reply so it’s easier to rate the dragon. Please be sure to use the template assigned to the dragon, as the questions may vary.
2. Rift trait: 4, kind of subtle, but I do like the placement.
3. Size: 5
4. Price (13,000 Magic): 4
5. How well does Polarus fit the theme of the event: 3
6. Rate Polarus’ design: 5
7. How would you rate Polarus’ breeding combo (MAGNETIC + earth + fire): 5
8. How much do you like Polarus: 5
Comments/feedback for Deca: We know this dragon has been in Deca’s vault for a while. The last minute surprise release feels forced, with a quickly put together back story to tie it with the Magic theme (to follow the story line of Construct, maybe?)…However, I do think it is an adorable little dragon, with the body parts turning into a magnet. The breeding combo is right on, but they generate a lot of looong fails. 99% of the time, if not 100%, at least one of my caves, and sometimes two of them, have over 30 hours timers.
5. How well does Polarus fit the theme of the event: 4
6. Rate Polarus’ design: 5
7. How would you rate Polarus’ breeding combo (MAGNETIC + earth + fire): 5
8. How much do you like Polarus: 4
Comments/feedback for Deca: Polarus is an unusual design with unusual but great animations – almost too many animations. I like the panic when it leaves its rear end behind. The backstory makes Polarus fit into the event. The breeding combo is a great one for newer players, but the metal element gives 14 fails over 18 hours. Many players had their breeding caves clogged with long fails, which when it was only available for 6 days, seems a little cruel. It seems to be squeezed in to the event. There were already 9 dragons in this event, it wasn’t necessary for another dragon to be added.

1. Animation: 5/5, I absolutely adore how much effort was put into this dragon's animations! It does a great job of combining the separate section mechanic of Construct with a magnetism twist. The follow-through on the sort of *clunk* as its sections hit together really sells that invisible magnetism pull. I especially love the compass-esque animations as it aligns itself like a needle! The best animated dragon in the event and a joy to watch roam around with its polarised hi-jinks.
2. Rift trait: 5/5, perfect! The metal trait especially seems to be right at home on this dragon, and doesn't interfere with the magnet colour scheme.
3. Size: 4/5, Big! But it somewhat fits for a dragon that is so detailed and animated.
4. Price (13,000 Magic): 2/5
5. How well does Polarus fit the theme of the event: 2/5, It doesn't seem to have any links to schooling or summer as far as I'm aware, aside from the description mentioning that it originated from a student in alchemy class. It's a very fun origin, but not immediately prevalent in the design.
6. Rate Polarus’ design: 5/5! I love the incorporation of the red/blue/grey colour scheme, it alternates just enough to give that "magnetism" effect, while also remaining mineral-like and balanced against its neutrals. I love the idea of using horseshoe magnets as horns! It seems robust and strong, with just enough detail to not be overwhelming.
7. Breeding combo (MAGNETIC + earth + fire): 4/5, This breeding combo makes plenty of sense and is accessible to early players! The only problem is the extra failed breeds clogging up the breeding caves for a long time.
8. How much do you like Polarus: 5/5! One of my favourites from this event; I'm a big fan of Construct (and this sort of inorganic design in general), and characterful animations are my bread and butter, so I was bound to love this one. It has a super creative concept and is so much fun to see clunking around in my park.
1. 5/5 Fun & clever animation 2. 3/5 A bit too subtle 3. 4/5 A bit too big 4. 4/5 Could be worse 5. 4/5 Works with the backstory 6. 5/5 A great design. Different & fun. A bit Pokemony but that’s not a complaint 7. 3/5 Too many horrendous fails 8. 4/5 A welcome last minute addition
1. Animation 5 I usually don't like deconstructing bodies, but this one fits the idea perfectly
2. Rift trait 5
3. Size (if you don’t own Polarus, please check a friend’s park) 5
4. Price (13,000 Magic) 5
5. How well does Polarus fit the theme of the event 1 Why wasn't it released in the previous event? I actually was given the egg (apparently accidentally) as a daily log-in gift long ago, when it made more sense in the event.
6. Rate Polarus’ design 5 a bit clunky, but perfect for the concept
7. How would you rate Polarus’ breeding combo (MAGNETIC + earth + fire) 5
8. How much do you like Polarus (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 5
Animation: 4/5 Overall well done, although I am not sure how I feel about Polarus' design going top-down to face north for a few seconds.
Trait (Metal was NOT a good trait to showcase in the example): 3/5 Could use a bit more.
Size: 4/5 Overall Polarus' size is pretty nice, although a tiny bit larger would be even better.
Price: 5/5 For a surprise limited, this is acceptable.
Theme: 3/5 The only reason why this is not rated lower is because Polarus doesn't really fit with *any* event, and of them, Summerthings Magical is probably the best choice.
Design: 5/5 When this dragon was leaked way back in May, I had always been fond of its design. A spin and upgrade on the classic Magnetic Dragon.
Combo: 3.5/5 Although it does fit, there are a couple flaws. I prefer surprise limited dragons having elemental combos, and even then, the elements bring a number of rather long fails - including lodestone, forge, gold, and bronze.
Preference: 4.5/5 I've been waiting for this dragon to return to the Vale for half a year, and after long last... it has arrived.
