After numerous failed attempts, I finally prevailed the same time my shrines turned gold!!! Got 2 that day (adult and display). Then a week later I got the baby! That makes 3 and I didn't think I was going to even get 1!

I got one on my first try, so did my son. I then moved on to the olympus dragons and got a bunch of crystal fails before completing my olympus collection.
I tried one more time for a peridot and got a crystal instead. Haven't tried since then because when the universe sends me a sign, I try to pay attention.

One peridot and one display egg. I haven't tried too hard for the third one, as I was lucky with the rubies and filled my island. I have focused more on getting the other new dragons this month.

Just got a 31 hour breeding time in my regular breeding cave this morning, my EBI is currently processing what is to be my 12th crystal fail I think. I mainly got crystals... and trees before getting lucky this morning.

Probably my park does't fit well for the peridot, I tried sooo many times but no luck.
In Italy we say "errare è umano, perseverare è diabolico" which can be translated as "fail is human, keep doing that is sin" so I gave up =D I'll surely regret this strategy, but whatever more than 20 tries are too much for me!

but the thing that is upsetting me so much is totally the useless and betrayer Tree Dragon, almost worthless (5,000dc are nothing) and took me 14hours each time to incubate him. I hate you, tree dragon! I hate you from the bottom of my heart!

I understand about the frustration of only one breeding spot. I have an account I play with my grandchildren and it took until late last week to get a Peridot, didn't think it was going to happen. Had to do some serious thinking about how important was it to me to have a Peridot, compared to breeding other dragons.
That is what is so great about this game. Peridot's are not required for any other part of the game. It is nice to get additional gems from the gem island, and it can be a notch for those of us addicted enough to have one of everything, but you don't "need" gem dragons to do anything else. We can choose to completely ignore them if we want.

I'm proud to say I'm half way to the goal, stable at 55 gems and this is the higher level ever reached by me!! I think, if the income flow mantains the same, in less than a month i can start building that thinghy!

I have one Peridot. I don't have to have three of them; one in the habitat and an egg on display are sufficient. I'm beginning to doubt that I will get another one.
Gemstone dragons have been extremely hard for me, from the very beginning. I started in May, so I didn't yet have the dragons necessary for the Emerald. I struggled to get two Pearls and two Rubies. I was managing my granddaughter's Vale at the same time and I had the same struggles there. I just have no luck to speak of at games. Nothing new for me, unfortunately. *sigh*

If my recollection serves (and I've been sipping beer and wine, so it might not be serving much, other than confusion), BFS is pretty good about cutting over to the new gemstone dragon over the course of the first of the month. I dunno... usually about noon Eastern, or so, 9am Pacific.
