With the new month, comes a new installment of POTM. It works like this:
You find a post you like and you nominate it for Post of the Month. You do this by quoting the post and adding the comment "Post of the Month" or if you think you can pull it off, simply "POTM". A Mod will move your POTM Reply to this thread. Conversely you can right click on the "Link to Post" at the bottom of each post
and Copy Link Location. Then post in this thread with "Post of the Month" (or "POTM" if you think you can), right click in the thread and Paste.
You cannot nominate your own post ... I mean c'mon ... that's just really lame ... no matter how cool/funny/clever/poignant you think you were.
Each post can only be nominated once. The first person to do so gets the nod.
On September 1st (or thereabouts, I mean, we're all working folks here, well most of us) we'll make a Poll with all the nominated threads and everyone here will be invited to vote for their favourite thread. You'll have about a week to vote.
So about the 7th of September we'll have a winner, or more accurately, two, because the original poster AND the person who nominated them wins. What do you win? Gems of course. The mods will give a gem to both of the people that win the poll.
So, to sum up. - Make good posts. - Nominate good posts. - Vote for posts. - Profit.
So have any of you heard about dragonvale Malibu? My husband is saying he's sending me there. It's for dragon addiction but not a 12 step program. I told him I didn't have an addiction and asked him if I could get more gems. He's shaking his head at me. Can you believe it?!
An unlimited supply of gems would be nice. It wouldn't be so painful to get all those crystals and trees. I'm all for robbing the gem bank. Who's with me?!
I'm not that far from Boulder, we can set up base camp here!
I think I'm going to stop bathing. Maybe I'm to clean for my dragons to do the Peridot dirty! Long shot I know but whining and threatening aren't working so I'm thinking outside the box.
*snort*. POTM
Please wait until after Sunday before you start this new tatic though okay?!
My husband has been off work on vacation the past couple of weeks. We have been busy clearing fence lines, getting our daughter ready to move to California, even a trip to go whale watching. Lots of things to do.
So this morning we had an appointment up north and hubby decided to take me to the Woodland Park Zoo, which I have wanted to visit for years. Used to spend summers with my cousins who lived near the park and we spent so much time there and at the zoo. It has changed so very much. The old concrete habitats with plexi fronts are all gone, lots of natural areas with lots of room to roam. Was really nice to see the improvements.
I know this is all pretty boring, but it is the set-up for what came next.
Stopped into a restroom, I know, TMI.......reached for the toilet tissue, I know, TMI again.......and much to my surprise and delight written above the tissue holder was the word........
Wait for it.........
MEOW!
LMAO!!!
Oh Pixie that is to funny rotflol. Do you suppose Tommy was there and left his mark?
No, no, no... Jean Luc Picard is hot and Fletch somehow worked enough voodoo to conflate himself and Picard in my mind, so now we can't get rid of Fletch. We will need to come up with new plans. But, I've said too much, thus revealing our intricate and Machiavellian plot to somehow displace Fletch creating a power vacuum which you could fill with me as your humble advisor and so taking over the entirety of Dragonvale and having control over all dragons. We all know Fletch is key to this process, but again, I do not mean to reveal our long plotted takeover that we have been toiling away at for the better part of the last 15 years. Good thing I have written this in code. Besides, the churlishness of the doltitude evinced in the referenced personage will not allow him to catch on, even if he were to break this tremendously complex code.
Oh, for crying out loud. More new dragons? Can I at least catch up? Eesh.
Jeremiah was a bullfrog! (Bah Bah, Bap) 'e was a good friend of mine! (Bah Bah, Bap) I never understood a single word he said but I liked to hear him whine. (chucka chucka) And he always had a mighty fine whine.
I awoke from a restful sleep, and this started my day with a giggle. Thank you. POTM
To stay on-topic, you could use this to type about dragon breeding and keep track of when the gates are open and by how much and also do a spreadsheet for yogurt.
Hypothetically speaking, though, how would one stand out as a geek on a forum board about games about dragons? Seriously. I mean... you would have to be really geeky.
I've been thinking this for a while but I think it would be cool to have an off-topic thread where people explain their GCID's. I think the names we choose to be known by say a lot about a person and I think it would be fun to read people's stories.
Soooooo, who'd like to start?😜
With all the wonderful traction this thread has had this month, Glenys mustn't be overlooked for POTM.
'... overwhelming goodwill, and witty humour, profound grace and compassion blended with the spice of relentless taunts.'
