Since this week we are celebrating the 1 year Anniversary of our favorite game, it seems fitting to see when we all started playing.
I started sometime in November 2011. Just in time to miss the Bone Dragon! :-( On a more positive note, I have a breeding pair of every other dragon released in the Vale - including all of the Gem Dragons, which aren't breedable, but I have a pair of each of them because it makes them (and me) happy!!
I started in february, but still missed the leap year dragon because I had no clue what I was doing. I did get a clover, though. I got the one and then moved on, not realising that I could have gotten two and would have been able to breed them at will (like some sort of maniacal dragon brothel owner who breeds dragons sadistically for her own amusement (or something)).
I started on sept 24 2011. Had just got my first IPad and was looking for free games and came accross DV who was already apps of the week. I liked the design and gave it a try ... Still trying lol. I have one Bone only. In those days i had not yet searched for related forums and did not realise two would be convenient. At the time already, there were so many dragons to get that one already seemed a great achievement!
I started playing late in December of last year. As I have mentioned previously, my son started this DV park. He made the poor choice of leaving it in my care, and I've been playing ever since.

I started back in September. Similar to Viviane, I had just unwrapped my iPad and went a-searching for neat apps. It was my son and wife who downloaded DV. There it was, winking at me from the desktop. I clicked on it to see what it was and I haven't closed it since.
I had a Bone Dragon. I had several, actually. But they are all gone now, replaced by an armada of level 15 Lava Dragons whom I love so much I leave them in the HC unless I need to breed them with something.
And similar to Bliss, I didn't know about the get-two-of-limited-dragons rule until I joined this forum in May. So I only have 1 LYD, Clover, but have two or more of all other limiteds.
I joined April 25th 2012, just new enough to not be able to breed bloom. I had actually been playing tiny monsters first and was pretty sold on that until I saw all the comments going "Dragonvale is a zillion times better!" and then I was like "Pffft! Lies! I'll try it just to see how much better my tiny monsters are and to see the level of stupid these people are." So I downloaded Dragonvale and I'm not sure I even have my tiny monsters app anymore xD Stupid RoPhFi. lol.

Me too Viv. I thought it was October that I started but maybe it was the end of September because it was in the apps of the week when I found it. LOL As well I did the same thing and only bred one Bone because I had not looked for a forum yet and didn't realize they would disappear so quickly.
Shellee, furthermore when starting DV, I thought ok it is nice, will play a few days/weeks and then I will be bored by it or it will "finish" when you reach the last level available .... I am still not sure BSF had originally in mind to extend the game above a certain point, but got pushed into going on by popular demand and success (and cash revenue they made).
I saw a post on Facebook about DragonVale and was curious about the game, that was in February. Too late for Love and just before Leap Year. What a crazy time that was! Found the Wiki and read about all the panic people were going through trying to get this new, very short time limited dragon. Had to level-up in a hurry to get to level 12 just to be eligible to try to breed the LYD. Then the popular combos were Panlong/Love; Scorch/Seaweed; Love/Seaweed; Bluefire/Crystal - so many dragons that were way out of my reach.
It was my introduction to buying gems to speed up incubation, I HAD to have that dragon! Finally got the Seaweed dragon, bred it several times with Scorch and had my LYD just before it left the market. If they hadn't been late removing it from the market that morning, there is no way I would have my 1 LYD. Wish I could have an egg for display, maybe someday about 3 1/2 years from now.
I started in March 2012. Shortly before the Clover came out. I remember trying for the Clover but without any great purpose and that limited dragon slipped by me. I did manage to then get one Sakura but didn't know I was supposed to get two. By the time Bloom came out, I had found this forum and was much wiser and have managed two of every limited dragon since that time.
I started last September and I have only missed the bone dragon. Hope they bring that one back! Can't believe I've been playing for a year already! Time flies when having fun ...
Started in October and managed to get two Bone dragons... Sold one of them because I was a rookie and didn't know. So no egg for me. Hopefully they bring him around again.
All you kids remember three islands and just on cave?
What I remember most is that we had no guidance as what to do, no idea how difficult it is to get gems and thus used the basic capital in silly way. Then the thing with game center, what exactly would it change to have friends, is that something like FB (don t wNt that). We were on our own. Habitats would need very frequent visits to collect the little cash, buying treats by 5 units ... Crazy circle! Then found various forums, in particular our previous one. Great great bunch of people (now all on this forum). We were experimenting together, exchanging tips, getting better all together. We grew with the game and BSF had no other choice then delivering new content lol

And no Hibernation Cave.
The HC changed the game. You use to HAVE to sell dragons. You had no choice.
I think it was May I started. Sakura was available to me, but I didn't know there such a thing as were 'limited dragons' and didn't get one. Then one day it was gone :/ But I learned from that mistake, and now I have at least one of everything that came out since then ... Now if only I knew I needed 2 Butterfly's to get more once they were gone lol

I don't really remember when I first started playing. It must have been around January because I didn't get the reindeer dragon, or didn't know it existed, but I did get the Leap Year Dragon. So it had to be around that time. My daughter told me about the game and was hesitant to tell me since she knew of my addictive tendencies towards games. I had paired all my games down to Pocket Frogs, then I found DragonVale and it was love at first sight. We are now in a very committed relationship.

I started in November I think - I remember Halloween decorations and Bone being available but I didn't get one! I didn't realize it was a limited thing!!! ( I'm dying to get one, so I really hope they make a reappearance) I got only one reindeer because I didn't yet get the value of having a breeding pair until I hooked up with most of you lovely people in January at a forum that will remain nameless!! And here we all are in an amazing long term relationship with each other! Without you guys I probably wouldn't be enjoying the game as much as I do!! xxxx
Hehe, I started in July, I told my wife I was not going to play DV because it looked addicting. Well it was and is. So after reading Inheritance, last book by Christopher Paolini, I jumped on the band wagon and have been having fun ever since. I hope to see a lot more Dragons coming soon, although getting them can be a bit of fun.
