So now we're about 5 months since the Gemstone Island was released, I was wondering how everyone was doing with the Birthstone Dragons.
Bound to be people with a dozen or more, and the new members without their first, but I'm wondering if we've got a bit of a bell curve going in the middle numbers.
My first Opal this month was my 12th gemstone dragon. So the pace of filling up the island is no more. I get to look forward to slightly less stressful months of only having to breed one and one display egg!

3 out of 4 so far....however I can make the 4 with opal. I don't stress has it will be here next year and I am very positive that I will get it. My question is that when I collect a gem each dragon seems to have a slightly different starting point for its clock. Wondering if the counter resets and continues while waiting for me to collect.

Each Gem Habitat Caps out at 3 gems. Each Level 10 Gemstone Dragon earns 1 Gem a week. If you put 3 in there you will reach capacity after 7 days. Or you can collect 1 gem after 2 and a third days, 2 gems after 4 and two third days and 3 gems after 7 days. When 1 gem is ready to collect the counter is still counting down towards the Cap. Exactly like clearing a DC habitat after the treasure box appears on it, but before it reaches capacity.
I'm sitting at 8 dragons. I've only managed to get 2 of them in August and October, but I am quite happy to get just the one. Needless to say, I have no display eggs, but no worries there either.

I have full house, plus one pearl in the HC. Reason why I did not go for a third Opal, one on the island and one display is enough. When the next gemstone arrives and provided I get it, another double will be stored. They are not lost, just like a saving account.
9 For me. I might try for another Opal if we don't get a new dragon for the last week of the month. My priorities: 1 - Limited Dragons 2 - Gem Dragons 3 - New Dragons 4 - Shrine Grind/Food Production 5 - Filling Gem Island 6 - Decorating
Could be wrong, but don't think we will get to breed them. Not keeping one in the HC.
With the onslaught of new dragons in the las couple months, I started just being satisfied with a single gem dragonfor the month. Idon't have a discreet egg display of each type either, so that made it easy to be happy with just one gem dragon per month.
All full here. I'm starting to store spares in the HC as well. I have a display of all the gem eggs besides emerald, I think still would like 2 of each hatched and a 3rd for display, though..... a "breeding" pair that cannot breed...

Our other habitats do do the same thing, it's just that it doesn't take days to earn a single dragoncash. It's easy to forget the gemstone habitat's limit is 3gems.... that takes a whooping 5.25 days! (even more if it's not full, of course) I always collect after a single gem..... seeing the gem count go up by 1 is nice.
I was gone over the summer and wasn't able to breed an emerald, despite my numerous attempts, so I'm missing that one and ruby. I have 5 in the island right now, but one incubaing and my cave is going to be occupied for a while now too Good dragons. I think it's because I'm excited for the bone dragon hat instead of giving me a shot at that one, I'm getting the opal more. I'm a happy camper either way! So, by the end of the week, I should be up to seven I think.

Only have the 6, and all their display eggs, will wait til April 2013 to fill it up.
This is interesting. No desire to have a Baby and an Adult of any of them?
Nah, I've never been big on having both the babies and adults in my park. I will be switching some of my dragons, who are currently all in their adult forms, (minus Tarandro, who's just too cute!!) to babies, quite soon.
