I just got a goal to buy and deploy a Hydro Bot. I've not been playing GN for a long time, do they normally have a bot that can only be purchased? Cost is 2250 crystals.

Yes, some of the basic bots have to be purchased, not bred, but 2250 crystals is crazy ridiculous, has to be an error there somewhere. It should be buy or breed, then the cost to buy could be extreme. If it's a new basic bot, then the cost should be much lower & in Robux, I would think. Only Astro, Steam & Thermal have prices that high & they can be bred.

I've been trying for Astro using Welder and Spray for almost 6 weeks(!), 2-3 times each day. and still no Astro. At L16 I took a break and successfully got a Hydro after 3 days. I am back to trying for Astro. The Robux is good, but I really want an Astro.
Anyone have any helpful ideas? Or is it just a matter of luck?
It is a matter of persistence I was at level 28 before I got my first Astro. koala to you. You might think about joining the forum so we can commiserate together and you can keep us updated on your progress.
Thank you for your reply debstoy. (Okay, I've joined. ) I read somewhere sometimes it help do something different. So on a whim I mixed up a Science and a Nature and it looks like the result is a Botanist correction, it is a Solar for 12 hrs.

Hi and welcome! Unfortunately there is no secret way to get an Astro, you just have to keep trying. Some people have waited months to get an Astro.
Pixie: Thank you for the welcome. *nodding* I was coming to the conclusion this game is a matter of luck/timing and most of all, patience, or perhaps endurance is a better word...? At least the robot sound effects are entertaining.

Yeah you start out as a plant then gradually breed up with the number of posts you make. . So jump in and post in any of the different topics and watch what happens to you. BTW glad you joined the forum.
Franken and yeti were limited bots tied to us festivals. As such they should return when the appropriate festival returns. For Franken this should be towards the end of the month. However, many think the game has been orphaned. If so, they may never return.
As for further goals, you make your own. For me, I am trying for three of each bot so I can display one of each non standard gizmo. I know others who maximized the earning potential of every bot by winning in the colosseum. Certainly a non trivial goal considering how poorly some of them fare.
