Is anyone else running into this? Just in the past 2-3 days, I've started getting mail that says "your friend" instead of the player's name. It happens inconsistently, and not always with the same person (I think). I'm emailing support, but just wondering if this is a thing that has just started happening with more people.
It happens to me quite a lot. As Fletch says, when the connection is poor you also lose your friends list. I think what is happening is that the initial link to GC is made, and the Outpost link is made, but there is a glitch in the connection and it cannot update the friends list.
Sadly I often play on a marginal connection and I cannot speed up friends as often as I would like.
It also happens to me sometimes even when I open on a good connection, and go straight to mail. When this happens I just shut down mail and wait a couple of minutes and everything catches up.

Lol. The first thing I thought of was, "I wonder if Wapatango knows?"
I'm fairly certain I did tell her. We spent the afternoon together, but we are both way too busy with too much to think about to remember. But I want to thank everyone for the speed ups. I was shocked at how fast my bot was finished. Most of my bots were before we had decent internet, so I wasn't visiting or being visited much. It makes a huge difference.
It happens occasionally when it can't connect to the GCID properly. As long as you don't collect the crystal or press OK for the speed up, the name will appear the next time you start the game with a good connection.

Sped up techno from both accounts. Yeah Maidy I'm really bummed they aren't doing something more for the game. I like playing it but so many friends have quit. Sigh

I still love my bots and check in daily, but at level 50, I've run out of bots to breed and will soon have my whole park cleared of objects. Would be nice to have some updates and new bots.

Am absolutely devastated that there was no 4th of July Bot, as it was an obvious choice for a limited. The fact they didn't seems to indicate they are putting very limited resources into this game.

Hopefully things are quiet on the GN front because they're working on some kind of major overhaul that will allow us to triple breed, send bots to another outpost, and create our own bot types.
