Edit: I think I understand. A message is left if someone gifts a crystal or speeds up something for you. You can't actually write a personal message, right?

Also the timer for gifting/helping seems to be set to time of day. I was doing some stuff last night, and pretty sure when midnight came I could send gems/collect party hats again. Will need to confirm that ...
I think you are correct. I visited people, gave 3 gifts & collected $$, in a little while went back &could do it all again.
So sometimes an asteroid you visit has more than one possible timer speed ups you could choose from. Selecting one of them removes the remainder. You can only speed up one timer per asteroid when you make your visit. Plus, yer face.

EDIT: Okay, I'm building the Nature habitat which has a 12 hour build time (I think). 3 and a half hours later I only have 90 minutes to go. I'm pretty sure 7 people haven't sped that up for me, so maybe it's a % thing, and the longer the time the more you save when people click on it?

I started playing. So far I like it. I imagine its only a matter of time before I start spending too much on this game too.
I do need more friends- birdeh27 on GC. I'll go through these posts again tomorrow and send invites as well.
ETA: It's kinda fun being a noob again in a game. The challenges ahead, building up money to buy the next item, etc. I think the majority of us are maxed out on DV so this should be quite fun to have a new game.
I have started the game too and indeed learned from previous DV experience, spending my gems in upgrading the breeding place. T is fun but lacks the charm of DV and the kind of mystery. Problem also as I am already fully busy with DV and RL so difficult to squeeze this new game in it, especially as in the beginning you have to do treats every 30 seconds! Next thing is to keep another list of received/returned gems In any case, feel free to add me if you are not yet on the friends list.
Probably going to fall off the face of the Internet sometime around Monday. Sandy is coming and last time we got a storm in late October, we lost power for 5 days and Halloween got postponed until November 8th. And that was just a regular ol' storm. (Got to love New England weather) built anyways, just giving fair warning. Wind is supposed to start picking up tomorrow and the power companies here are notorious for not being able to keep the lights on very long.

I think that's why I'm enjoying it as well. Love the dragons, but definitely feeling maxed out on DV at the moment.

It's set up sort of like receiving email from individual players, but once you acknowledge the messages they are gone. So the lists will continue. Sorry.
Although maybe you could wait to check them off until you had returned the gems . . . not sure whether that would work or not. I'll give it a try next time.

Ugh. I wish they would come up with a way to deal with this. Don't know if I will play it much or not then because there is no way I'm doing another notebook of payback gems. It's too crazy and I'm am way too far behind on DV gems as it is. As it is I'm months out on returns...slowly but surely I am getting them back to everyone. Thanks Becky!
