Here is what seems to be working for us:
My first Platinum just hatched with Current and Metal...the egg is so cool!
Husband and daughter both have their first Panlongs in their hatcheries with Rain and Lava.
We all have two Turquoise and are trying for Display eggs.
I finished Kairos five days ago--the quest option really worked for me--the constant racing was driving me crazy! The only crystals I used for Kairos was to speed up my final quest/piece.
Stepping back from shrine grind after my fire shrine turned gold (first gold shrine) has helped me a lot--for me it was so anti-climatic that I was able to focus on breeding and going for kairos. I don't burn through crystals anymore and just wait it out! I'm planning a park re-design, so that will slowly happen over the next weeks.
Hopefully the above combos might help you!

I was successful getting Platnium with Rust + Water. Good thing is the fails aren't too long and sell for some good $$$

Mine + Cactus and Metal + Bloom also work for Apocalypse Dragon. We're working on whether we can eliminate one of those elements.

I think the leap year dragon just needs any 4elements, like rainbow, so any breeding for paper will have a chance of lyd also.
Moss+blue fire or frost fire will give you a chance for paper, lyd, Sakura and clover.
