Hello! I was wondering if someone could tell me how to level passed 10 with a leaf dragon as it says it is maxed at level 10. Thanks for the help!
Hi daisycrazy and welcome! The next thing you need is to gather sufficient event currency to purchase the two ‘level up’ keys; the (👣👣👣to get the correct names, back soon) Monument of the Epics and Relic of the Epics. These are currently in the prize tent. They ‘should’ become re-available again during Bring ‘em Back (BeB) which is due soon, and possibly during other events.
You should also find them in your Market, under buildings, for a large number of gems. I can’t recall if your park has to be a certain level for them to be available. Also can’t recall (and tapping on mine only tells me I have them...so helpful) which allows you to level your Epic dragons to 15 and which to 20, so check that out first if you can only afford one at this time. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will fill in the missing info, or you can head over to DragonVale Wiki and search there. 🐨with your game!

red and LynnMarie were talking about the amount of dragons to get, so I thought I'd dust off this post and put it to use.
Here's what's currently available to breed. The dragons in red aren't available to breed themselves, but you can buy them in the event. For the moment, any you are missing, you'll have to do without.
Limiteds Available Barbarous - ONI + RAGNAROK Bogberry - BOG + BERRY Bounteous - Any Earth + Plant + Fire Charlatan - APOCALYPSE + SPIRIT Chromacorn - RAINBOW + DOUBLE RAINBOW, RIFT ONLY

So, a lot of the dragons require specific parents. Nothing can be done, except to breed the specific dragons you need, and try and get them. The dragons that can be bred with normal dragons are below.

So here's the dragons you can get by using the following breeding combinations.

I really think Deca should have made a more accessible way of getting the ten of each item needed for the transformation only dragons. I bought 3 extra tries of Guess the Egg just for the treasure chests, currently the only place to get said items. 15 gems wasted, ‘cause I only got food and event treats, no items of transformation. 🤨 it will be impossible this way to get the 30 or 40 items I need, not to mention getting duplicates.
It is possible to ask Deca all the possible ways to get these missing items? Are they also available via the racetrack or questing?? It would be best if we could buy them in the market, like the effigies. They have all those body parts for sale, and they aren’t even necessary except for playing dress up.
I wasn’t playing when the other such items were introduced for Xmas, transforming coals into other dragons. But some how, when I came back to play so many were in my gifts waiting for me, gifted from friends.

No, sadly not. Normal dragons can't breed in the rift. That can only rifted dragons. Rifted dragons are dragons with a trait. They can only be bred in the rift. So you have to breed a Rainbow and a Double Rainbow in the rift.

Yes. Breeding rules for rifted rainbow and double rainbow are the same. And it’s instant. So it’s easier than you think.

The Ghosties are available all year round, once you have the effigies. So you might want to focus on the limiteds.

Exactly. It also was very confusing to me when I returned after my hiatus Just keep asking what you don't understand.
The main thing is that the rift is a bit like a second park in your own park but with a cave that breeds and incubates instantly. Dragons in the rift earn Etherium instead of dragon cash. You have to pay etherium for each breed. The price for breeding is getting higher with every second breeding and gets reset at reset. The breeding in the rift can result in a rifted or a non-rifted dragon. Rifted means that the dragon additionally has the rift element. The rift element comes in different forms (plant, fire, earth...) and is also called trait. Rifted dragon have a part of their body shining in another color than the normal dragon, the color differs depending on the trait. You can transmit a rifted dragon to your vale and breed it with any dragon, but that would never result in another rifted dragon. Rifted dragon in the vale don't earn etherium, they earn cash. The rift is very helpful. You have several extra tries for a new dragon each day because the breeding is instantly. And these breedings also earn event currency. It's difficult to earn a lot of etherium though. Especially in the beginning because you have to clear space from the fog and buy and upgrade rift habitats which is getting more and more expensive. Don't spend all your earned etherium, try to save every day a little and invest it (in getting habitats, clearing the fog, buying basic rift dragons) it's worth it.
There is a whole thread about the rift dragonvale-tips.proboards.com/post/172848/thread On the first page the 5th post shows you which fog aereas you should clear first to find the two hidden rift buildings.
