Thankfully the Wiki has an archive of all the dragons that have come out.
"The bloom dragon is found roaming the Cadberry Meadows near the beginning of Spring. These dragons have been known to hide their ornate eggs in some unusual places to protect them from Spring-time showers. Unfortunately it seems to have had the opposite effect because children have made a game out of finding them!"
The beginning of Spring phrase leads us to believe it will return. I also think they said something along the lines to get it now before it is gone for a year when they removed it. Maybe someone else here will remember better about that part.
Master Fletch, I have tried and tried and tried to figure this out myself, but I just can't. Could you please help?
I need:
Fire - 4 Air - 12 Water - 11 Earth - 10 Lightning - 6 Plant - 6 Cold - 15 Metal - 31
I have pretty well two of everything except for Bone (zero) and Leap Year Dragon (1)
Thanks in advance!
(Editing to add that I bring in a reasonable amount of dragoncash per day, and currently have 300 mil dragoncash and 5 million food.)
6 Blooms, and 4 Panlongs to start. Leaving
8 Air 7 Water 6 Earth 9 Cold 31 Metal
Which leaves, quite neatly, 8 Chrome, 7 Rust, 6 Iron and 9 Mine and 1 Metal left over to be any Hybrid (or the Pure element) that you choose.
Cheers Shane
Sir Fletch, I wanted to thank you again for this. I finished my gold shrines in much less time than I had originally planned, and also with much more enjoyment than I previously had. I really quite enjoyed this last bit of the shrine grind... and every day of it I felt appreciation for you. So I just wanted to stop in and thank you again. :-)

Congrats! That's quite an accomplishment, steeley, especially considering the deluge of dragons BFS has released for us since you wrote asking for help.
We should be asking you for help and advice, I think

Does anyone have a site that shows a setup for what boosts to put on each island and what dragons to put on each island? I found one page, but it doesn't take some dragons into account like butterfly and panlong. No matter how hard I try I can't seem to work it out that I can get some boosted.

My best advice is to ask for advice based on your needs and set up. There are about a bajillion different possible combinations, so no way to write up a spreadsheet.
Also, your level plays a big role in where boosts go. The lower you are, the less access you have to certain types of dragons... but as you level up, it makes sense to juggle things around.
Without knowing your level and what dragons you have (and how many of each), I would encourage you to set up your boosts to push up the earnings on your larger habitats. Forget about boosting dragons in your plant, lightning, and air habitats. They max out too quickly for it to matter.
Panlong can be double-boosted with Fire and Water. It's best if you put them in an earth habitat.
I recommend putting your metal and lightning boosts with your metal dragons, focussing as much as possible on Copper and Magnetic dragons. Forge dragons will also benefit from the metal boost.
I recommend putting your cold and plant boosts with your cold habitats and filling them up with Blooms, Reindeer, Lichen, Evergreen, and Storm dragons.
In my experience, I have had very little use for air and earth boosts.
Again, this advice might not work for you. So feel free to ask follow-up questions and tweak things to suit your needs.

Thanks! That does help! I've been fighting with the plant, lightning and air. I'm level 32, and have every dragon out now except the Olympus--still working on those. I think this answers what I need! I'll let you know how it goes!

Hey thanks, Myke :-) I used about 50 gems to make sure all my breeding and nursery spots were full 24 hours per day. I also kept a close eye on my Dcash and food levels to make sure I would have enough food at the very end. Then... on what I expected to be my last day, I was tapping away to feed one of them, and it zoomed up to 17 and took all my food! I was so strapped for cash that once I couldn't even play the Race Track for 50,000. That's pretty bad! But anyways after an extra day of magnetics and sweeping I finished. :-)
Hello, Master Fletch. I wonder if you might be able to assist me, since I am horrible in math.
I have 2 Silver Shrines: Fire: 27/50 Plant: 28/50
The rest are bronze shrines with some 10's and 15's (from fire and plant hybrids, obviously): Earth: 33/50 and 13/50 Water: 25/50 and 7/50 Metal: 24/50 and 2/50 Air: 27/50 and 9/50 Lightning: 35/50 and 8/50 Cold: 35/50 and 10/50
Currently, the dragons I don't have are: Gold, Scoria, Bone, Love, and Olympics. (Clearly, I'm trying to breed Olympics at the moment.)
I have upgraded the EBI and NBC. Hiberation Cave still only holds 50 dragons, though.
I have a pair of every basic element, and a pair of every dragon that I didn't list above. That includes Panlong, Bloom, Sakura, and Clover.
Currently, I'm using my food supplies to level all of my existing fire and plant hybrids to level 15. I still have to level my Pollen, Malachite, Cactus, Evergreen, Firework, Lava, and Brass. I'm working on leveling my Malachites right now. (They are all already level 10, by the way.)
I have three Panlongs and four Sakuras, so I'm getting about 4 million DC a day. A bit more if I'm more active on the game.
I also have nine extra Poison/Flowers and one extra Lava. Never could figure if I should keep them or not; they're all already at level 10.
So that's my Island situation in a nutshell. Would you have time to help out a math-deficient player? *pleading eyes*

I'll let Fletch do his math to give you the exact numbers. Until he wakes up and joins the forum frenzy today, you should focus on breeding lots and lots of Panlongs, and lots and lots of Blooms. Hold off levelling up your plant and fire hybrids to level 15, as Fletch will be able to tell you if you can make better use of the food on other dragons.
Also, grow food continuously. Back when I was still levelling up to 35, I would grow the 2-hour food over and over again, as it has better XP/$ and food/$ than the more expensive food. However, if money isn't an issue for you, then blow it all on the 5M$ food.

Yeah pretty much what myke said. If you look in the first post of this thread there's a list of dragons to use. And the following list has just been posted with the introduction of the Malachite Dragon.
50 - Panlong 33 - Bloom 17 - Mine or Steel 17 - Magnetic or Copper 17 - Malachite 134 - Total Dragons
It's 4 less dragons, but a long more Panlongs which take so much time because of they're 36 hour breed time. Really, you only need to worry about working on the Gold Shrines, because the Silvers will take care of themselves.
And feel free to sell off the extra Poison/Flowers. They did they're job of getting you to silver, but aren't worth feeding up to Level 15.
With no Bloom Dragon, your best bet is going to be 50 Panlongs, 50 Magnetics and 50 Lichen Dragons to get them up to Level 15 and make your Gold Shrines. Feeding up Evergreen and Copper Dragons you have will get the job done as well, but they have a longer breeding time.
Definitely sell off those that you have more than 2 of as you'll need the room in your HC for the Mag/Lichens you'll need as you won't be able to sell them off till they get to Level 15, and you won't be able to do that until you've turned those shrines Silver.
If the second set of numbers after the = signs means Level 15, you must have a Silver Plant Shrine as well, so you can get started on your Lichens, feed them up, and sell them off. They're not worth as much as Mags, but it is what it is.
Any other questions?
Fletch
So is this a good general strategy for somebody just starting out? Level 20, just started DV in July, so no chance for Blooms. I only have bronze shrines, nothing over level 10 critters. I just want to make sure I dump the correct babies from the HC. I've been keeping my fails since my sorry attempt to get a Ruby (and now Peridot) a couple of weeks ago. Your above post was the closest thing I could come up with. I know it will be a bit before I can get serious, but it can't hurt to be going in the right direction.

It can't hurt at all.
Because you need 10 000 food to get a dragon to Level 10 at the cost of 500 000 DC and you need 320 000 food to get from Level 10 to Level 15 at the cost of 16 million DC, it doesn't really matter what you do whilst you still have bronze shrines. I know 10 000 food is still a lot at Level 20, but you'll be up at higher levels soon, more habitats, faster earning dragons, and the game will enter a new phase.
50 each of panlongs, lichens and magnetics is what you need to feed up to level 15, so keeping them and selling everything else you have 2 of is a fine strategy.
Happy to report I will never have to breed another Panlong. Once I hatch and feed those last 3 in my hatchery- I will have my first 4 golden statues!!
Congrats to you, getting those golden statues is getting harder all the time. BFS just keeps us too busy with new dragons. You must be very organized to keep the grind going at the same time.
