I just found this game and am already addicted!! LOL I want to thank you for this forum and the person that posted the link on the FB Dragonvale page! I do have a couple questions for this group if I may?
1. What is the round object on top of some of the dragons head that I am seeing when I go visit neighbors? Is it an egg? Or does it mean something else?
2. Is 3 gems a day all you ever get to gift? I read on one post that the more neighbors you had the more gems you were able to gift. Is that incorrect?
3. Some neighbors I visit do not have any party hats on their habitats. Or they will have only 1 or 2. Why is that?
4. Does the number of visitors give you anything?

Are dragons loaded as either flying or walking (or swimming) when you start the game and then stay in that mode till you reload or does a walking dragon have a 'take off' animation and a flying one a landing animation that I've just failed to notice? I've never seen one take off or land, but a negative is not proof. Maybe I've just not been looking at the right time.

No, they'll just jump from walking to flying to swimming. Like the way the move from right to left then switch to go back the other way when they reach the end of the habitat.
Thank you for the warm welcome, I have been adding neighbors like crazy and it has really helped with my coins! I also added some of you too! I went ahead and bought the gem tree. How much does the floating island cost? I noticed that several of the dragons are gems only. Like the sun, moon and rainbow ones. Is there any other way to get one of those other than purchasing gems? If not, I guess I will not get those! Thanks for the answers. I am enjoying this game very much.

125 rubies, but now you have the gem tree you will receive gems from your friends and try to win the competition as gold gives you 5 gems and silver 2 gems. So in no time you will be able to save for one or if you decide to purchase one.
Sun, moon and rainbow are rare dragons. Meaning the hunt could be longer and harder. You can breed them, check out 250Strong rare breeding guide on this forum. Enjoy the game and have fun.

our welcome and I accepted your request the island costs 125 gems and all the the dragons in your eggs section can be bred its just some of them are really hard ,you should check out 250s breeding guide thread here it's way cool for all those special combos also I recently had a rainbow from fog and Sakura the Sakura is not available anymore though did you manage to get one of those if so ,I would defo give those a try for a rainbow it may take a few tries I got it on try 17 with the same pair ,koala x

Btw on the dragons u really want to try breeding them instead of buying them.. If u need some good combos check out the breeding guide...
Just leveled up again yesterday and was able to buy the EBI! Yay!! Now have new questions:
How many dragons of each breed do you keep?
My Colosseum is cold today. My cold dragon is on the EBI. So, should I just put any dragon in there or not?
Gems. If you are not near wifi for over 24 hours what happens to the gems for the day? Are they lost?

I keep 2 of all the rare and limited dragons. As far as the rest I keep 2 or more of only the one's I really like usually. The gems will just stay on your tree until you use them. Is that what you mean?

I looked at the breeding chart, but I only have the basic dragons so far. Earth, Plant, Fire, Lightning and Cold. So, I will start trying for a Sun, Rainbow or Frostfire as I just hatched a Scorch! Yea ME!!
No Pixie, no Hybrids from cold. Have my first cold breeding going on now in the EBI and it will not be finished until 9: PM tonight. Which I guess I could go ahead and put him in the Colosseum then. I went ahead and bought another cold one so I could have 2 for breeding.
GT500girl, My question about the extra dragons was because I bred a 2nd Cactus dragon today and figured I did not need more than one of them. The gem question was if 2 days go by when you come back will you only have 6 to give out from your tree or will you have 12? So I guess it is how many can you give out a day if you are away? Make sense?

It is good to have two if you have room.. Right now u might be limited with how much room you have. When you get to the higher lv u can get the hib cave and store dragons in there... Your hybrids are great for shrine work when you are ready to start that.. The cactus is a good one to use.. I hope this helps..
And as far as the tree no u still only get 6...😢😢😢😢

You have picked out some of the hardest dragons to breed, which is fine if you will be happy getting lots of fails. You can get some good hybrids from those fails.
Are you planning on using cold dragons in both breeding areas? Breeding cold/cold will only get you another cold offspring. koala with your breeding, let us know how it is coming along.

hi on the gems it's six every 24 hours if you don't send them they are just lost and you will still only get six next time you go back ,also I wouldn't keep seconds of normal dragons until you have the hibernation cave or unless you have sufficient space to keep them ,but definitely keep any limited dragons you own x

Hi Pixie, LOL, yep going for the hard ones. No, I meant one cold for breeding and one spare for Colosseum or breeding something else to it!

Hi everyone, Question for you, i have 2 bloom dragons, if i breed them together will i get another ( now that they are no longer available)? Also, just got lucky and got the new Current dragon and I am trying for the Butterfly. I breed the firefly and willow and have a 12 hour incubation, is there anything else it could be, besides butterfly? Dont want to be doing my happy dance and be disappointed tonight. Ok I see. I would sell the cactus I think since you are early in the game. It doesn't appear to be a limited dragon or anything and you can always breed one at a later time. Right..you only get 6. It will not add another 6 but I sure wish it would. Makes total sense.
