I have CS4, and don't do art like you do at all! Do you think there have been enough enhancements to jump from 4-6?
I was previously using CS5. Only a few months ago I bought CS6. The only difference is the performance and memory usage really. It still has a lot of bugs in the program with random crashes. Luckily CS6 has a recovery feature which I love.
As for painting, I just paint straight on canvas layers.
I custom make my own Photoshop brushes and techniques. I haven't given out my brushes for personal use, but I have published a Metallic Dragons tutorial book that explains some of my drawing and coloring techniques.
I do however dab into Painter 10. I create my own textures for my brushes and import it into Photoshop once in a while.
Have made my own brushes, too, it's fun!
Am having terrible issues with CS4 only being able to open/save about 3 PNG's before it acts like they are corrupt files. Have to resort to closing/opening the program to have it work again. Major PITA!

Do you run into this issue with CS6?
I didn't have that problem, that sounds kinds funky. I usually save my files as PSD when I'm working on them. Might also be the memory usage of your computer.

Am adding more, just haven't got round to it yet. Will be interesting to see if that fixes the problem. Working making simple animated gifs.
Searching around, it looks like it is quite a common problem with CS4. You think there would have been a patch for it, but am completely up to date with it.

Adobe is actually still trying to patch CS5. But they stopped that project to patch CS6 now. I wouldn't count on CS4 getting patched anytime soon. Though there might be a place on the adobe site where updates are available. In Photoshop I usually look under Help>Updates

Just noticed the Seasonal dragons appearance changed in-game! It now totally reminds me of a artwork I had done early last year before I had gotten into DragonVale. (Hope that it is OK to post here, let me know). I created my original spring dragon with cherry blossom horns... maybe BFS got the idea?

What I really like about your dragons is that they are beautiful and I would NOT want to hug them. There's something unrealistic, though cuddly, about BFS's dragons... I guess I'm a little oldschool (TSR) when it comes to dragons and yours resonate with me.

Absolutely gorgeous! Love the serene feeling and the cute hatchlings roaming about.

Your art is absolutely beautiful! I would love it hanging on my wall - so much to look at - I love fierce - awesome dragons -
Hi, Has anybody else had the idea of an Easter decoration with eggs coloured like DV eggs ?
When my kids were small we had an Easter Egg Tree - once the blown out eggs were decorated we would glue embroidery thread loop (3-4") at one end of egg -
Cut some pretty branches (we used pussy willlows still without leaves) about 2 - 3 feet long with lots of small branches coming off - put these branches in a sturdy vase - then hang the eggs in the branches - It looked lovely - saved eggs in egg cartons and after a few years had a lovely collection! DV eggs would have been a special touch

Sounds like a lovely idea I have never "de-yolked" an egg before, but with that thought in mind, I just might have to try it, if you don't mind me stealing your idea.
Go for it! My children loved the tree and adding to it every year! "Blowing" the eggs isn't hard -
Edit: did go google "blowing eggs" and lots of methods shown we just carefully made holes in either end - a bit bigger one at large end of egg and blew the egg out with out own air - then rinsed egg out! All sorts of fancy methods came up lol

Mushroom Dragon (Water+Plant+Earth)
Mushroom Dragons are very mysterious type of dragon. It is said that it was to dangerous to keep them in your park because they have a slimy poisonous coating on their back. So wizards came up with a magical solution to keep the toxic slime off their back and have them safe to view in parks. Keeping many of them in your park may cause psychedelic effect.

I love it.
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

Absolutely awesome. The psychedelic part of its description made me chuckle
'... overwhelming goodwill, and witty humour, profound grace and compassion blended with the spice of relentless taunts.'
