I for one don't mind the ads. Is it nicer without them? Of course it is but it is not that big of a deal to me. I am here for the game and my DV and now GN family. I can contribute again..but can only do it for so long without others help. I don't think any of us seen how big we have become when we first moved here.

I 100% agree. I wouldnt mind them, maybe gone every once and a while, but Im here to have fun and be here for DV

I don't think people should be discouraged from posting because of the ads just when the community is doing so well. Perhaps just let the ads return and leave them or switch to your own domain and never worry about ads again.
I am not sure if this board software is proprietary or if it is phpbb altered. But, if you can find the same forum software, you can export the database from here and import it on the dvcommunity.com domain board. If not, it would require everyone to re-register.
If you are truly concerned about page loads and don't want to swap to your own forum software, then perhaps put Shane's sites to a little use. Instead of a giant banner and news blurbs, you can add a menu on both the dv and gizmo site and have all of the breeding, arena, etc. charts there. Of course, then you have the issue of splitting your traffic. But, since you make no money, to the contrary- you pay, then it might be a relief.
I am not in favour of migrating the forum anywhere else. We have set this forum after problems elsewhere and it was not easy to retrieve friends from the old place. If we would migrate again, many many would just not follow. And it is Poppy s forum, it should not change owner in my opinion. Finally, we can live with adds, just a matterof getting used to them and then we will just pay no attention.
People should not be afraid to post, but just be aware of how the ad-free works for the future, or for as long as our credits last. The new version of ProBoards that should be coming out early in 2013 has some features we do not currently have. A "Like" button among them. That by itself would be very helpful.
It is propriety software that we cannot export.
I'm not seeing any negative opinions about the ads, they are on the non-obtrusive side, as ads go. There are no plans to migrate elsewhere as long as the ads do not become a problem. When the ads do return, please know that we have no control over their content.

If you want my opinion I do not want to migrate elsewhere either. I like it alot here and would prefer staying here.
I remember people commenting on how quiet it was and how it seems I disappeared. I didnt. I was worried that I was going to, as silly as this seems, be a good bit responsible for the return of the ads. Now I don't have this fear and will be back to posting as usual.
