Hi I know I am really really new here so I don't have any say in the matter but I just wanted to give an opinion of a long-time proboard user... the ads are not really that bad and my old group I used to be with would laugh at some of the ads that would show up in the banner because they seem to base the ads off what is in the title of the thread and/or post. We never minded the ads because they are fairly unobtrusive. Just my 2 cents I see the matter was already decided before I even spoke, just wanted to reassure...

We will leave this thread here and people may contribute as they wish. The ads will be removed as long as we continue to have credits from donations, but I agree they aren't all that bad. Am sure Poppy will remove them when he pops on, as long as we still have funds.

We have some credits that will be applied at the start of March. We have pretty much come to the conclusion to spend the credits when we have them, but just not worry too much about the ads. You are welcome to donate to the cause, but do not feel you have to. Thank you for asking.
There are just lots and lots of info, resources, posts...a wealth of knowledge here in this forum. How about putting together a book on DV for Dummies? Royalties will be used to fund our ad free forum among other things . Just a fun thought that came to me while reading this thread.

Hi mods, was just browsing threads looking for a place to ask someone to pass on to proboards what a great design and fluid hassle free setup this is, for a newbie to such things; love the Participated button shortcut, and just used the Bookmark for Bloodstones monthly forecast...and it worked! I'm still trying to work out how to bookmark and then access them on my Mac which I've been using for years n years lol so Proboards Yaay! So, please pass them my appreciation for an idiot-proof setup ( don't know the proper word; website? Forum site??) And, while looking for the place to say thanks, found this thread about ads and contributions etc...its dated now, but what is the current setup? Do you need donations? I can't say I have noticed/been upset by intrusive ads, maybe this all was resolved somehow?? I love this forum, it's positive, friendly, helpful, love the banter and the respectful airing of contrary opinions think you mods and admins do a fab job, many thanks, it all adds to the excellent DV experience So, if you still need $ support, I would like to help out... Loooog post, sorry!

I am afraid I can't really tell you much about the financial affairs of the forum, I'm the new kid on the block! However from what I can tell it seems quite settled. I believe this is a forum hosting site, but what do I know!
I just wanted to agree that thanks is in order especially for people like fletch, poppy and a few of the members of the site who helped to set it up! It is so wonderful! And many thanks to my fellow mods and admins who do such a great job around the site

Hi there,
Once upon a time, we worked to gather some donations to remove adds from the site. Then proboards changed the layout and adds became much less intrusive. Donations ran out, perhaps as a result...? In any event, we've just kind of adjusted to having adds.
But thanks for offering I think you'll fit in very very nicely.
