(PS) True confession: I'm still running on Windows Vista. I've got a more modern laptop, but it simply doesn't have the full office gear that's on my desktop computer, so opening it -- even for entertainment -- is something of a chore. (Yes, I'm overdue for migration, but that's an even bigger chore).

I have a suggestion. I think we should start a new thread for an encouragement shower. This would be for people who don't need gems but are getting discouraged trying for a dragon. Take my mom, rulilind. She has made over 115 tries for her final lapis and has gotten 30 crystal and olys combined, just for this one lapis. She has made a couple posts about this, but not a single person has said anything about hoping she gets the dragon. She doesn't need the gems, but she could sure use some encouragement. That is the great thing about this forum-that we can encourage people-but sometimes those posts get lost in the tips and tricks thread. Why not have a place where people can post if they need encouragement or we can also nominate people, and we just make sure we say something as simple as "I am so sorry, I hope you get that dragon soon." I think that would be very much in keeping with the spirit of this forum and would greatly help us connect to other members. It might take a little longer for us to write a short encouraging post, but imagine how much it could help someone who is struggling to get a dragon. It can especially help people like my mom or peanutzmom who frequently have trouble. It is always good to know that people are rooting for you. Anyway, that is my suggestion.

Thanks, Wapatango, and thanks for the gems. I used some of them to speed up my 27th Crystal fail, only to get my 28th. I'd quit on the 3rd Lapis, but I guess I am just too stubborn, and I hate to totally have wasted all this time.
Update: I just sped up my Crystal fail to get my 11th Oly. Are we sure this dragon is not now a myth? Maybe it mysteriously left the market in one of the recent updates.

Thanks for the reminder that we all need to slow down a bit when reading the Tips and Tricks thread, which is where we originally envisioned encouraging our fellow dragon hunters.

I updated both iPhone and iPad to iOS 7.1.1, and now just cannt get in DV. Keep getting connection error message. I did everything except for delete and download DV. Think it is an Apple prob., but can someone post BFS support email address, please. Just want to shoot them email first before I delete DV. I am not back in the U.S for another week. Will shoot Apple an email too.

I recently had the same problem getting into Dragonvale. As long as you're playing through the Game Center, it's quite safe to delete the game - just make sure you choose the option to 'keep' the data on the Game Center.
Deleting the game still didn't fix my problem, but Lemmyloop suggested putting my iPad back to factory settings. I was very nervous doing that as I couldn't imagine such a move would be without disaster - but it did the trick, and all I needed to do was re-do my wallpapers and perhaps re-login to a couple of apps. After a modem problem last week and trouble with a new faulty modem, the same problem occurred. This time I didn't hesitate to reset to factory settings.

There are a few other things to watch out for.
Auto incorrect gets turned back on. As does BlueTooth. Fine for my phone as I use it all the time. Not so good for my iPad. It goes out and steals my bionic ear from the phone and the wireless keyboard from the computer. I am sure there are a number of other settings where Apple's default is not my preference, but these are the main ones for me.
