This is one of the differences from DV. Crystals are much less important than gems.
Having a friend give you a speedup can gain you up to 12 hours on a breeding. Even longer for some of the obstruction clearances. This means that one friend can effectively give you 12 crystals at once. A few speedups on a 48 hr breed can turn it into a 3. Hour breed
Have lots of friends and make sure to visit their outpost to speed something up there. And have something for them to speed up too. I run snax continuously on battery bites just so there is something for them to speed up - though I prefer it if they speed up my breeding lab. What it does is let my friends know I am still playing. If there is a timer running, then that means that the I have been to the outpost in the last 24 hours. If there is nothing running for several days straight then it is likely the player has given up the game.
Don't have too many friends though. I have about 60 in my main park, and no longer accept friend requests there as it takes me more than an hour to go through them as it is.
Don't get me wrong though crystals are nice. Just not as nice as doing the neighbourly thing and speeding them up.
Also set up your park so it is visitor friendly. Place the Robux zones in the landing zone along with whatever you want sped up most. This makes it quick and easy for your visitor. If you want an obstruction sped up, make a breadcrumb trail to it, and make sure your breeding lab is not in sight.
