Hey, you never know - Jack could one day be hit by an unlucky bug. But we're not wishing that on him or anyone.
If I could have one wish, it would be for this competition to end in one day, with the winner and runner up getting their Opal no later than the second day. That's my wish. I know I'm dreaming (afterall, LostGirl and Tommy signed up again), but that's my wish.
What no side bet on how fast TommyB and I will get them this time? I'll start -- I bet TommyB and I are in the bottom 15 at least before we get one. I'll even put a gem in for it.
FYI, the pot for this competition is up to 106 gems (87 for the winner, 19 for the runner up). You guys are awesome.

Cafe, meet LostGirl and TommyB. These two would have trouble breeding a limited dragon even if you gave them a pair of the dragon to start with. They are THAT unlucky.

Liquid. It is so glad to see you back. I have missed you! How awesome you are getting an iPad 3. It will be good to see you here more often. You started the great idea of helping losers you donating a gem helped me lose this comp. how funny this is the only comp you really do wanna lose.
Sorry for the absence everyone. Long story short: finally got iPad back from Delta (used the wife's access for a couple minutes each day while only mildly inconveniencing her in the meantime), now just need to update it since the are never going to fix the issue with the game crashing for those running an old iOS (still in the 4s). ---that said, managed to finagle a new iPad 3, so when it arrives this weekend, I will get last month's winner a gem and start to repay those of you who continued to gift me.
All that said, means aim in for this competition as well and will happily pay a minimum of the 3 gems as described (2- winner, 1-runner up) but probably at least 1 gem a day to someone still in the hunt:

Are there any leading theories on which dragons will be the opal combo? Should I use this weekend to get more than the small handful of metal hybrids I have?

The one thing we absolutely, positively know about BFS....is that they do what they want, when they want. We can tell what the trends have been, but every time we say this or that will happen, they make liars out of us. The predicting of required parents are just that, no one has any real knowledge.
Wish we could fill in the blanks for you. It never hurts to fill in dragon areas where you might be weak.

Go look at the opal breeding competition. There u will find all the dragonvale braniac's giving their best shots at the combo. We are all really..... smart and most probably really..... wrong. But that is part of the fun!
