I am in GCID is emandbuddy. I so wish I had signed up sooner and not lurked for so long as I have failed miserably at this turquoise dragon this month. Never has it taken me this long to get a gem dragon. Maybe now that I have whined I will get it! I will be in for one gem.

Pixie and mike, you guys are doing a great job as usual. Not seeing my name on the list though, in fact, I think a few might be missing (possibly some from after latest update though). Just want to mak sure you got me in for the 3+1 (thanks to Jacqueline and her 3+1 pledge), if anyone pledges higher, you can auto-upgrade me to match. If anyone is still hunting for turquoise - send me a grid request so I can throw a g'luck/koala gem your way during these waning days of availability (January 2nd I think)

Isn't that the way it is. My birthstone is diamond and I find it a boring stone. I've seen a commercial for chocolate diamonds that are pretty. Do you suppose they really are a diamond?

Is it the color of red you aren't cracked up about? Garnets run all the way from white, to yellow, thru the red spectrum, and into the browns. White and almost black browns being the rarest of them, with those being more expensive than some diamonds can be. Just thought that might be of interest. Sending FR as well. Welcome to...the asylu...errr... the most wonderful and bizzarre group you'll ever find anywhere!!

Thanks, I finally had a reason to buy a gem exchange tree yesterday, so excited, no more worms for me! If y'all aren't familiar with the worm song, it goes like this "Nobody loves, everybody hates me, guess I'll just go eat some worms." Around here if you are eating worms on the playground as a kid, you are friendless. Or being a pouty-pants.

Garnets also come in a bright, flashy green with a dispersion ratio almost as high as diamonds. They are called demantoid garnets and were found in huge quantities in Russia. Most of them are less than 5mm, about the size of a 1karat diamond. Most of them are about 2-3mm. They make a wonderful accent stone, if you want a less expensive alternative to emeralds.

I know about that song...I used to be one of those kids, being the new kid at school almost every year growing up. I love gummy worms and will share with anyone! :-}
