Sorry for such a lousy entry this time around. I just don't have time for an elaborate story. But I was moving an egg for display when I noticed this funny little glitch so I took a screenshot and came up with this idea for a very very short entry just to be silly. LOL!

Never Enter a Staring Contest With a Lightening Dragon
Not only is it impolite to stare, but it can also be deadly when staring at dragons. One should always approach dragons while respectfully keeping eyes lowered. One may look into the eyes of a dragon for brief moments of time after much practice. It takes a lot of skill to avoid the mesmerizing gaze of dragons. Once they lock eyes with you, it is hard to look away. The Lightening Dragon is particularly adept at this, and the consequences can be dire. The Lightening Dragon's eyes light up with an intensity that is 5 times brighter than the sun. Blindness happens within a matter of minutes. Attempts at devising protective lenses have been unsuccessful to date.
Wizard Stanley Stzyle blindly walked off an island and fell to his death after a staring contest with a Lightening Dragon in 1783. A visiting tourist was able to capture the horrific event with their camera.

Amazing work Maidy!
My story is also complete, but I have trouble trying to upload some of its content. Is there another site besides Photobucket or Imgur that will allow pictures to be added and shown?

You can upload directly from your files using the Attachment option in the posting box. Works for one image per post.
After many hours of trial and error with uploading, my story is finally here. Unfortunately, I could not insert the pictures into the story, so they'll be in the following posts and I hope you'll know where they fit in with the story.
It was a frostbitten Christmas Eve, and a huge thunderstorm was brewing beyond the horizon. The Snow dragons brought an icy onslaught of snow and ice down upon the little dragon park of Haldale. People began scurrying inside their cozy villas, while others, young and old, gathered inside the Dragon Library to escape the freezing cold. Through all of this commotion, the wizards on their graveyard duty were trying their best to keep all of the dragons under control as all the lightning type dragons contributed to the havoc as well.
The old wise warlock, Grandfather Melvin, was settled in the Dragon Library, looking through a fog-stained window, and studying the storm that was soon to come.
Grandfather Melvin was considered as a father to all, both young and old, and generously shared his knowledge of dragons, myths, and other fantasies he had experienced. After an hour or so, the sky clock tower struck 11 o’clock, and the dragons finally calmed down once fed some tasty Sarjin peppers to warm themselves up. Soon, everyone was gathered around the magical fireplace in the library to keep warm from the blizzard outside and the thunderstorm that was soon approaching. Grandfather Melvin then stood up and left the window from which he was gazing upon and sat down on a wooden chair among the children.
“Grandpa Melvin,” one child asked, “is the thunderstorm bad?”
The old warlock chuckled and replied, “No, my child. It is in fact, good in a very intricate way.”
“Is the storm gonna keep Sandakloz from coming this year?” another young child asked.
“No my dear,” he answered, “Sandakloz is coming none the less. A little bit of thunder, wind, and snow can’t stop Sanda and his loyal Reindeer dragons from coming.”
“But Grandpa” asked another child, “why does the thunderstorm come every Christmas Eve?”
The elder was silent for a moment, and then replied with another question. “Have I ever told you about why the storm comes every year and why you should never stare at a lightning dragon?”
“No,” all the children replied, while some adults turned their heads in interest, sipping at their Dragon-Ale. Grandfather Melvin grinned, pulled out his willowy wand, and gave it a quick flick. A small spark was emitted by its fragile tip and a large book was magically pulled off of one of the library shelves and drifted gently onto his lap. The children watched in amazement as Grandfather Melvin opened the book and particles of dust began to float in the air. He cleared his throat and began to tell his story.
“It all started long ago when dragons roamed about, elements and all. Peace roamed across the magical lands spreading from the legendary Shimmering Isles to the peak of Mount Dramoria, and each dragon went on their own living in groups and wings according to their own kind. The dragons grew in great numbers, except for the lightning dragons. There were very few left, since they liked to be isolated from others, and their population began to diminish. They were rarely ever seen and the only glimpses of them were faded shadows of their silhouettes in the sky.
“Now on one cloudy night of Christmas Eve, Sandakloz and his team of 9 loyal reindeer dragons began their annual routine of flying around the world and magically delivering presents to all of the small children. During one of their cloudy routes however, Sandakloz’s lead reindeer dragon, ‘Drudolph’, met face-to-face with a fearsome and rare lightning dragon emerging from his stormy lair. Drudolph took a quick glance at the radiant reptile, but it was soon to be his last.
The leading reindragon’s bright red nose could not compare to the flash the lightning dragon’s eyes discharged through its steely glare. Brighter than a Sun dragon’s breath and within an instant, the lightning dragon’s glint struck Drudolph blind. Drudolph recoiled backward, looking through a screen of darkness, drifting into the unknown.
The following reindragons and Sandakloz were unharmed in this turn of unfortunate events, and with the help and teamwork of the rest of Drudolph’s wing, he was returned back to his snowy home safely.
“Even though he was blind, Drudolph shared his knowledge with the other reindeer dragons about the lightning encounter. They spread the news with the other dragons around the world on their yearly voyages and the word got around saying to avoid all lightning dragons and refrain from looking at them at all. The dragons of the sky became terrified, looking around every cloudy corner just to avoid them. This incident left Sandakloz curious about why lightning dragons did this. Was it for protection? Was it aggravated? This was the first time this had ever been recorded in Dragon Lore history and left everyone puzzled. Despite the danger of encountering a lighting dragon, Sandakloz sought out to find the answer.
“Taking one of his reindragons, Sandakloz saddled up in search for the lightning dragon he had just encountered. He went to the exact cloudy route where he had last seen the dragon, and caught a glimpse of a faint, shadowy figure flying through the clouds. Sandakloz and his reindragon cautiously approached it until they could see the bright fluorescent yellow scales glistening off of the dragon. The lightning dragon saw them through its peripheral vision and sensed what they wanted to know. It never meant to harm anyone, and Sandakloz soon realized this too as it turned away and growled in shame. The lightning dragon was lonely and didn’t want to live like this.
Sandakloz smiled and pulled out his magic wand and said, “A spell that shall end your long calamity, yet a gift that will bring you new hope and amity.” A spark full of iridescent colors came swarming out of the wand and had overwhelmed the lightning dragon. The pulsating waves echoed throughout the lands to all other diminishing lightning dragons as it fill them with a warm new sense of acceptance.
Filled with newfound joy, the lightning dragon gave a thunderous roar of thrill as sparks charged the tense air. The dragon bolted off in search of others of its own kind and other elements as well. Sandakloz chuckled a deep ‘Ho, ho, ho’ and silently mouthed the words, ‘Merry Christmas,’ as his reindragon flew back to his workshop.
“If it weren’t for Sandakloz’s magical enchantment, I’m afraid we wouldn’t have any of these lovely lightning dragons today. For each year on Christmas Eve, all the lightning dragons breathe and shoot out their sparks, charging a massive, yet beautiful thunderstorm of their thankfulness for the wonderful gift Sandakloz had bestowed on their ancestors. Now, lightnings are still quite solitary, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t civilized. Deep in the inside, they make their new friends, whether it’s in the park habitats or on stormy mountains, but never judge them by that crestfallen look on their faces. So, that is why the thunderstorm comes every year to bring down dazzling bolts of light. And I must remind you, never attempt to stare down a lightning dragon’s glare of steely conviction, for they might become in ‘shock’ and will surely render you blind.”
Once Grandfather Melvin had finished his story and closed the musty book with care, the children began to plead for more stories. “Grandpa, please tell us another one!-” “-More stories Papa!-” “-Tell that story again!” cheered the children, for yet another fascinating tale.
All the elder had to do was raise his hand to catch their attention. “Now, you children head off to bed, or Sandakloz might not bring you presents.” teased the old warlock.
The children quickly scurried off to their traditional villas and hurriedly jumped into bed, anxiously waiting for the reindragon's claws to patter on their rooftops. Grandfather Melvin once again went back to his hazy window and looked into the darkness of the thunderstorm as the clock struck the beginning of Christmas Day. The dark clouds retreated into the thin air and 8 red dots danced and gleamed in the distance.
Grandfather Melvin smiled and said, “Another year, the storm will subside. Another year, the reindragons shall ride.”

Maidy - that was a lovely story to fit the picture, a splash of micro-fiction!
ElectronX - beautiful tale, very well told. I love the detail like the way he magicked the book, but it was a complete fable and the pix complimented it so well! You can add pix via Photobucket, copy the URL between the "[/img]" code tags (you get those from the Tags box above the message when posting from the Proboards website.
