I have been having the same crashing issues for close to a month now. I have done all the BFS suggested tips with no luck. I have also stepped out of this months comp, due largely cause I can't reward gems to the winners. I do have a DV account on my cell phone, I am thinking about using that account, but I have not figured out the mechanics of friending as as yet. I think I need to go through Facebook.
Have you contacted BFS directly?
I have another issue and would like to know how to contact BFS directly. How do I do that?

Gearing up for december's comp, -shrine grind should be completed before new release at tend of the week (just 3 blooms to go now) -egg display complete on December 1st (breeding finishes in about 30 hours)
Also, since trojan is running into difficulties gifting gems, I'll spot her at 2+1 (and declare myself locked at 2+1 vice matching most generous offer) since she was a runner-up last month (and I don't think we've ever had anyone sit out the following month

Yes. I am waiting for a reply. I can't even get into DV today. It crashes at the opening screen. I AM SO MAD. This has been going on far to long now.

I think I've been playing close to a month and a half. My mom is stkychic and I play on her iPad, (when she's not playing) I've been pretty busy trying to breed reindeer and other limited dragons, and trying to save up for the hibernation cave. I spent all my gems on upgrading my epic island so now I'm saving up gems again to get the gifting tree. I'm excited to get gem dragons because I just got my gem island recently.
