I have a request about the language of late on the forum. Yes I know we live in an age where even the 'F' word seems to have become commonplace. Hey, I spent a number of years in the Navy and nobody curses like a sailor. Still though, this isn't the Navy, a high school playground, or a Hollywood movie. It is supposed to be a forum for everyone, young and old and with profound grace. Use of even the relatively mild hells and damns is offensive to some people. I know of at least 2 people for whom the frequent recent appearance of these expressive expletives is ruining the enjoyment of this forum and they're contemplating leaving. I don't need to mention names of the "offenders", that's not the point. Like I said, hey! I was in the Navy. I get the use of ... expressive language. But there are young people on here as well as older people who are offended.
And truth be known, it takes more thought and is better style to avoid resorting to expletives. Those are just a reflection of impatience, irritation, or simple profanity. So I'd like to request that we try to clean up our act. We don't have to publicly call out anyone, just a pm to someone when it occurs, reminding him/her that we want an atmosphere that can be enjoyed by young, old, and everything in between.
I don't think we want to lose people because the atmosphere of the forum has lost its charm.

Hi Doug The "F" word is not a word that should be able to be read on this forum, as there is a filter in place to make a substitution because we agree it is not an Aloha friendly form of speech. If you, or anyone else, sees very offensive words in the forum, it means something has gone wrong with the filter that might need our attention. Always feel free to report posts to the staff, as Fletch has directed above, or pm any staff member so that we can contact ProBoards if necessary. Thanks!
