To my original, long time Game Center Friend “Malabatha” or anyone else who knows how to contact her: Malabatha, for some reason I have lost your name in Game Center so I can no longer return Gems & Treats to you. I would like us to continue to be friends via the DV method. Please send me a friend request there.
I’m on IOS and there’s an update in the App Store. Odd that it shows om my iPad but not on my iPhone
For the past two years, Apple has throttled the number of updates occurring across devices by rolling out updates over a period of several days. That spreads out their downloads on their server. This is only with newer versions of iOS, I believe it started with 11. If your device is on an older version of iOS then you will see updates immediately when they're available.
Unfortunately this method does not work well for the gaming industry, where you sometimes need an app update immediately to continue playing on a server. In order to get around this restriction, you can force your device to look for all new updates. You do this by opening the app store, going to updates, and swiping down on the screen. Hold it a second or two, looking for a spinning wheel at the top of the screen. Then release. You'll now see all available updates to your apps. You need to repeat this every time you check for updates.
Ok, so I’m going to show my great ignorance of how things work here.
First off, I notice in some players tags they have totals of everything like twins and rifties. How do they get those? Or are they patient enough to count them out of the dragonarium?
Also, I saw a post a while back that said what dragons to use for Max dragoncash from the coliseum. Is this kept updated with new dragons? If so, where would I find that info?

Another way that works to force to find the update is: If you know an app has an update that is not showing, you can go to that app and the open box changes to an update box when it pulls the info off the server.
I have a 2018 iPad running the latest version of iOS and mine was not showing the update yesterday and I had to do this.

I keep track by using a notebook. 🤓
I made a list of all rift dragons when they were released and would mark them off as I got them. When new ones are added, I add them to my totals and lists.
For my twins, I slowly went through the Dragonarium making a list of ones I still needed at the time I started caring about getting them all. Now I just add new ones as they roll out.

For the colosseum I believe you get the dragons earnings for a 24 hour period (100% for gold and slightly decreasing for silver and then bronze). The DC is for the base earnings and does not include any boost you would get from an element boost. You can find these on the wiki. This really means each player must determine which dragon is best for them.

This is the list I have:
Metal -Quintessence Dark - Nightbloom Lightning - Satin Earth - Lokilure Air - Ironwrought Water, Light - Bogberry Cold, Plant, Fire - Saccharine
Arkynos - maybe this is something that would be helpful to add/keep updated for the Encyclopaedia Dracontine thread.
One of the (accidentally released) Bright Nights dragons is a bit better for Air, which is nice because it was way behind the other elements. It still will be behind them, just less so.

OMG after all these years playing; you mean that list earns more than the respective Elders?! 😝

Yup, the Colosseum DragonCash is 24 hours worth of Cash (ignoring any boosts) from the Dragon you put in. So you can get a lot more from say, Lokilure on Earth day, compared to using Elder Earth which earns about as much as the squirrel that I hire to answer my phone. That is to say, peanuts. 🐿️
(I've added a link in Dracontine with the list and will keep it updated. Second post, in the middle of the pile of links.)

Are these earnings better than using the elder dragons? I always used the elders 99.9 % of the time. Should I be remembering these instead?
I think this depends from different factors - what level has your dragon? - in what habitat does the dragon live? - with which other dragons? - how often do you go in the game to collect from the habitats?
I don't know how much a level 20 Saccharine earns. My S. is at level 18 and earns 560/minute. Lets pretend that it is fed up to 20 and earns round about 600/min That woukd make 600*60*24=864.000 coins per day The Plant dragon at level 21 earns "only" 223/min that makes 223*60*24=321.120 coins
So a win in the colosseum with Saccharine would gain more coins.(on the first sight) But that's not the whole story. While the one dragon is in the colosseum the other one is earning in its habitat, which after some time is full.
If the Saccharine lives in an ornamental habitat with 4 other as high earning dragons the habitat is full after round about 5 and a half hours. If it lives in an Omnitat or together with less high earning dragons it takes even longer for the habitat to fill up.
If the plant dragon lives in a plant habitat with 4 other as high earning dragons the habitat is full after 45 minutes.
So if you check, your park every 5 hours it would be better to put the plant in the colosseum. So the plant can earn its full dayly coins and if you collect often enough then you'll get the whole daily coins from the Saccharine as well.
while the thing with a Plant elder is quite simple it gets more complicated with those elemental dragons who have a habitat that can hold more coins.
I found out that the epic habitats are mostly not full when I collect, so I decided not to bother. I take the elders for the colosseum. It's handy anyway, because they are on top of the list
But if you know that you won't be able to check your park for the next day (family party or other things) the highest earning matching dragon for the colosseum might be a better choice.
the colosseum just "refunds" you the coins that the dragon that you put in would have earned during the day it was in the colosseum.( sort of lack of work refund) If you would not have put the dragon in the colosseum it would have earned (nearly) the same amount in its habitat. (nearly because the colosseum is ready after 23 hours and refunds 24 hours) - only thing is that you might not always be there to collect when the habitat is full. I think that dragons that could be put in a habitat with a high cap (like nightbloom which goes into a moon habitat) don't use this non-stop-earning as much as dragons which only fit in a habitat with a low cap. You can login often enough to get all of nightblooms income. But you won't be able to do this with a plant dragon.

dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for
crumble608 That's fair. Perhaps another addition to the list of the best non-Epic Colosseum earners is warranted? If we confine ourselves to Dragons unlikely to be an Epic habitat then the rate Vs rate argument works without having to take whether or not you're losing earnings at the habitat cap into account. In any case, there's almost always going to be something better to use than Elders, if you have the right dragons.
Quintessence would be top for its five elements, and Satin still tops Lightning. Air reverts to Ironwrought. Cold... Wyrmwood maybe? The only good earning Light or Dark I can think of is Silverline, but that might just be newness. ...Take this paragraph with a pinch of salt, I haven't checked any of these.
(As an aside, Lokilure at 20 earns the same in 2 hours as Elder Earth does in 24. So if your Ornamental habitat caps for more than 2 hours overnight, then it's better to use the Lokilure for the Colosseum than the Elder Earth. Ooooooorrrrrr you could use Quintessence, get like 4/5 of the Lokilure's total and have the Lokilure earning in the Ornamental habitat all day as well. So I'm definitely going to change up my Colosseum habits because of this, so thanks Crumble! )

Is anyone playing on a kindle fire? I have not been able to install the new update. In fact it does not appear when searching in the store. When Dragonvale opens it says there is an update, no option to continue play just OK takes you to what should be install the update. The description is the current "wild nights", but it just says open, which takes you back to Dragonvale and the message to install the update. A never-ending loop! I only use the kindle version to play an old park to do rift breeding for Quil's "odds".

maybe delete and install new may do the trick, but be sure that you have your login info at hand when doing that

Still unable to install on the “newer” kindle fire hdx 3rd generation. But was able to install on the older fire hd 7 4th gen. I quit using the older device before the low resolution mode. Good thing I kept it. I want Quil to get lots of data!
A while back, and then even further back, different types of foods were introduced, and now there are many many many
Someone did the calculations and posted them, best value for money in some type of order, factoring in cost, amount of food and time to produce... You see where I’m going with this, right?
As an ‘out’ non-numerate person, who is inordinately proud of being able to do a manual cashbook and BALANCE it, I am utterly overwhelmed at the thought of sitting down and doing these sums all over again...
I would love to link such an analysis to the ED for everyone’s future reference
Can anyone remember what thread, or work out how to search for that/those posts, or (deep breath) get joy from doing that recalculation again? So I can link it to ED Pretty please for some assistance 😌🌺🐲
