This is really fascinating! I don’t know anyone else who collects the twin egg before the dragon. I have some friends who don’t collect twins and just pedestal them. But they aren’t actively collecting the twin pedestals, they just don’t care about twins.
I favour the Rift, so personally, I wouldn’t consider it an advantage to pedestal a twin, then receive another regular, Vale version of the same twin as a reward instead of the much coveted twin Rift version. As how you collect the twin Rift pedestals, I collect the twin Rift dragons and have over 300 different dragons so far. It’s all about the mystery egg!
This just seemed like the easiest way to get a full egg and dragon collection. For example, I need twins of most of the new event dragons. Unless I have the dragon up early in it's life and it's being cloned by a lot of players, I almost never see a twin of the dragon from the social cave. Most of my twins come from twin weekends and from mystery eggs. If I manage to get a twin Venture dragon from any source and I took the dragon instead of the egg, then that ends my chances of getting a normal twin Venture dragon from mystery eggs and instead I have to get it through the social cave. It just closes off one of two sources for completing the collection.
I currently have 4 dragons outside the rift where I have the twin dragon but not the twin egg. I'll deal with 3 of them if we ever get a twin weekend back, but the 4th one will be a real pain to deal with: Ovalith. So difficult to breed, BeB has to be in place during twins weekend, and you can't clone with with same parents. I'm seriously considering just deleting it so I can get both the egg and dragon through gemstone mystery eggs. I believe I'd have to delete the rift version too, but rift dragons are much easier to get when available.
What about wishes? I only have twin versions of Ovalith. My first one that I ever bred was during the Solstice and it was a twin. I have 3 twins and one twin rift. I didn’t make any of the twins pedestals. Of course this was all before I was collecting seriously. Now I need a regular Ovalith now that I am going for all four versions of all dragons.

When I stopped playing DV I had all 276 types of dragons that were available at that time. when I restarted 403 days ago there were 465 dragon types (I don't count ghostlies) - so a backlog of 189 dragons. During this last 403 days the dragon counter increased up to 537 dragons - another 72 dragons all in all 261 dragon types to fetch. From this 261 I'm down to tree. I'm only missing 3 more dragon types: Scarab Honeyglow and the new Frond. I'd like to go first for Scarab and Honeyglow because I expect Frond to be permanent after the event. (if DV continues to exist) So, could one of my friends blueheart a Scarab, Honeyglow, Gold, Loot, Ambrosia or Nectar for me ? Please ? <3<3<3

I had my own hand written spreadsheet ( more like pages and pages in a notebook lol), but can’t find it anywhere! I would like to be able to keep track of what I need with out opening the Dragonarium every few minutes, and then forgetting what I saw, and having to reopen the Dragonarium to confirm my memory....🤦🏻♀️

(1) Install the Google Sheets app on your iPad, if you don’t already have it (you’ll need to sign-up if you’re new to the app). (2) Click on the DV Spreadsheet link, open the document in Google Sheets. (3) Go to Menu (the three dots in the upper right corner) > Share & export > Make a copy.
You’ll be able to rename, edit, and save this copy as your own spreadsheet.

Ok, I’m stumped and flabbergasted. I got a Quintessence egg in a runic cave. (Yes, I did claim it!) But... the pairs I used do not show it as a possible result. Kaiju ( fire, water, dark ) and Eve ( cold, water, metal )
Metal, plant, fire, earth, water are needed. I’ll take it though! 😀
Edit: It may have been the Teidian & Glowwing pair. They do have the right elements. Neither the app nor the sandbox show Quintessence as a result of either pair. (Hides Quintessence from the devs just in case)
Did some trial and error with Game Center. To add friends they need to be in your contacts on your iPhone or iPad. At the very least, you need the friends phone number you’re inviting. You need iOS 13 on both devices being used to add friends.
Open settings, Game Center, tap “add friends”. Enter your friend’s phone number or tap the circle with a plus sign ➕ inside it to see a list of your contacts, then select the correct one. Send the invite. They will receive the invite through Messages. It will show up as an invite from your Game Center nickname.
If your friend’s iPad is with a cellular carrier, you *might* be able to use the iPad’s phone number. It’s located under settings, general, about, cellular data number.
In the add friends box if the phone number or friend’s name turns red, their number can’t be used. If it turns green, it’s a number recognized by Messages and the invite can be sent.
I will do more tests using the iPad cellular number and update ASAP.
Edit: The cellular # did not work. However, I was able to receive a friend request using the email linked to my Apple ID. Enter the email address in the same location under adding friends in Game Center. Hope this helps those wishing to add friends to Game Center. 😊

I don't think there has been an os release for any platform that didn't have problems for some users. People said the same about ios 12, 11, etc. I've always just upgraded soon after releases, and I've never had a major issue except a bad install script that was out for a very short time a couple os's ago, and it was fixed that same day. There was one ios release that I held off for half a year because I kept hearing about bluetooth problems and connections to cars (especially the vehicle I have). Finally just upgraded and it all worked fine. We have ios 13 running on 4 phones and two ipads in my home, all different models (new and old), no issues to note so far.
The security fixes and better support generally make it good to stay upgraded. After a major ios release bump, it's good to wait a week before updating and get the next little .1 patch that usually comes out soon after to fix issues.

Thanks adlerist That certainly looks promising. I wish someone would put out an official statement with what is happening after this event ends. I'm sure the uncertainty is making players try other games and if not abandon DragonVale, then reduce their playing time.

Maybe they didn’t read the replies because a lot of them are saying that the game is going to have no new dragons or events or that the game is gonna end, or that this Instagram person isn’t reliable because no one else has verified what she said and so on. I’m not sure why so many are doubting her. She obviously knows what she’s talking about she literally worked at Backflip.

While I can’t confirm the OP is 100% legitimate, I did review the IG account and the name behind it and felt there was enough credibility to post here. I based the OP’s legitimacy on the IG account, which includes DV drawings that fit the employment timeline at BFS (2017 - 2019), a LinkedIn profile, and an ArtStation portfolio which also spans over this two-year period. I suppose someone could be using her name across several sites, but since these accounts were created years ago, this is either an extremely committed two-year lie, or the accounts have credibility.
The problem with having others verify her statements is there are only a handful of people who can do this, and they are either unable or unwilling to do so. Only the DV Team and the new owners have any knowledge of the game’s future, and the owners are keeping everything swathed in secrecy as the private DragonVale IG account confirms. They likely requested the DV Team to keep mum, and to be fair, this IG post was about an employee saying goodbye to a job she loves; it wasn’t about DV’s future.
Just think, this time next week we may have all these questions about the owners and DV answered. Or not.

Thank you. I got my Bizurian pedestal. My Dragonarium now shows I have 564 dragons and 559 pedestals! my next goal will be to have one regular of each pedestal. I need 12 galaxy and ten others. I’m hoping the next event will feature galaxy.
