• NEW 29th Island • NEW Maximum Level 140 • 50% off all Islands, Storage Tower upgrades, and Hibernation Cave upgrades in the Vale and Rift • Clear island trees and rocks for free • 3 habitats unlock with each new level for a total of 15 additional habitats • At Level 140 the habitat limit is now 190
Goody goody goody goody New level cap
I was actually thinking about mailing deca earlier this week to ask for a higher max level, but couldn’t find their e-mailadress. Bit disappointed it’s only 5 levels, but that was to be expected. Would be good to have something more to work towards in times of social isolation protocols.
Am now torn between going slow and savouring the moment or quickly feeding some rift dragons so I minimize the risk of getting even more xp boosts to sit idly waiting in my gift menu.
In addition to the already asked question about the placement of the 29th island: where will number 28 show up? Can’t find a map updated past island 25.

You can contact Deca here (under Submit a Request select DragonVale and a form will show to complete the help ticket). Or you can email them at dragonvale@decagames.com. If your question/concern is related to your park, it’s best to contact them directly from your game under Options > Email Support (this way all your account information is included in your email).
Edit: corrected Deca’s new support ticket link and added instructions.

When someone buys the new island would they mind telling us where it is situated in the park? Thank you. :)
PSA: Location of the 29th Island
I deployed 24-hour Kairos to speed up the summoning of the 29th Island. Here is its placement in the DragonVale universe:
This is a close up of the 29th Island. As you can see, it needs quite a bit of yard work. So if you’re planning on purchasing the island, try to do so in the next nine days so you’ll have enough time to summon it and take advantage of the free clearing.
Having been out of the game for so long, and because so many things have changed, I am trying to clarify breeding rules. In the past, when something was not available in the market, you could not get it, unless you bred two of that dragon together. Then they introduced the co-op, and you could breed with a friend's epic in the co-op and hopefully clone it, whether the dragon was available or not. I believe that now you can clone any dragon in the co-op, whether it is available at that time or not. Is this true? Also, they have introduced the rift. If you get a dragon in the rift, if you use it for breeding, you can get another one whether it is available or not, and sometimes a non-rifted version. Can you also bring the rift version down and use it to clone a non-rifted version in your breeding cave or on your breeding island, when it is not available in the market? Also, why have I seen people put Chromacorn in the co-op? What is the purpose of putting a rift only dragon in the co-op? Any help would be appreciated.

You can clone any dragon in the co-op, except the Rift exclusives (can only be bred in the Rift), the evolve dragons (both parents must be the evolve dragon, so you’ll need one to breed with a friend’s), and Gemstone and Crystalline dragons (locked combo only, no cloning).
Also, they have introduced the rift. If you get a dragon in the rift, if you use it for breeding, you can get another one whether it is available or not, and sometimes a non-rifted version. Yes, you can use traited limited dragons in the Vale to clone untraited versions after the dragon has expired and left the Market. The traited dragon acts like a regular, untraited dragon outside of the Rift.
Also, why have I seen people put Chromacorn in the co-op? What is the purpose of putting a rift only dragon in the co-op? Any help would be appreciated.
I don’t know why players put Rift exclusives in the co-op. Maybe they have a friend who needs a specific dragon and they don’t have it but the Rift-only has the elements needed to breed it. Chromacorn will breed like a Rainbow dragon, so perhaps the player doesn’t want/need a specific dragon and they’re just breeding whatever with their Chromacorn to see what will pop up (?).
Thank you adlerist. That explains a lot, but just to make sure I am understanding correctly. Say I got a Hooded in the rift, but not in my main park. At any time, when I have nothing else to breed for, I could bring the Hooded out of the rift and breed Hooded + Thistle, it doesn't have to be Hooded + Hooded, and have a small chance of getting a Hooded for my main park.
While I am asking, is there any way to use a dragon you get in your main park to get a dragon in the rift? If I am understanding things correctly, the answer in no. You can only use rift traited dragons to breed with in the rift and you can not get rift traited dragons except when breeding in the rift.
Thank you for the help.

Yes, that is correct! Hooded w/ trait + Thistle would give you a very good chance of breeding Hooded (no trait). Your odds definitely improve with cloning.

While traited dragons can travel between the Rift and the Vale with ease, untraited dragons cannot be moved into the Rift. So an untraited dragon won’t be able to breed in the Rift. Only traited dragons can occupy the Rift Breeding Cave, and traits can only be acquired in the Rift. Breeding traited dragons in the Vale will never result in a traited dragon.
There are so many different breeding rules and even more exceptions to the breeding rules. I don’t know how returning and new players do it, but I commend you for learning all of them so quickly!
Thank you again adlerist. Hopefully I have this now. I never did know all the rules that well. I relied on my son and daughter who had played longer than I had for all the information I needed. But after almost 4 years away, I have really struggled to catch back up, and since they were gone also, i couldn't rely on them. I will admit I have been too busy to search through all the past posts to find the information. After all, this is suppose to be a fun game not a full time career. Thank you again for the speedy answers and good information.
Yes, thank you adlerist. I guess all the twin traited dragons I have must have somehow come from gifts. I had several from when I dropped in for a short time a while ago, and didn’t remember where they came from. Now that you have so expertly clarified the rules, we can stop debating whether you can clone an exact copy of a dragon with a trait in the co-op. Now, my mom and I can start debating who got the better deal. I bought the next island just a little while ago and cleared it, but my mom didn’t have quite enough DC. I had been holding out on the next upgrade of my hibernation cave to conserve gems, but my mom had already purchased it. (Don’t tell her, but I think she’s the winner since she will probably have enough to buy a second island before the deal ends, while I’m still over a thousand gems behind her despite how much I saved when I upgraded yesterday.)
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

I had to update the IOS on my iPAD. Now I’m able to receive and collect gems from friends but the buttons for returning or sending gems and dragon treats aren’t lighting up for me. I can still see everyone....just can’t send. If anyone else has encountered this or has a solution please let me know.

I just recently had this problem and discovered that I needed to go into the social menu in DV and log into Game Center. This is different from logging into Game Center in the settings app on your iPad...which I didn’t know for a couple of days, many logouts, turning my iPad on and off, etc. I hope it works for you.

Brilliant!!! That did the trick. Thank you so much
Excellent wapatango, 😊 Now if a few of you brilliant minds could get together and similarly find a fix, preferably with dragons involved, for CoVid19; well, the world would be most grateful😈 Please and Thankyou 😈😈
Motley is back. Aren’t you glad he wasn’t here in the middle of the event? 😉
Aren’t you glad, while stuck with a pandemic, we have electronics, WiFi, games galore, streaming services, ebooks, Skype, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, all our e-friends, etc? Imagine going through the same in 1918. We are indeed a fortunate generation. Stay home, stay healthy, and may God bless you and yours!

Right, I can't decide what to do, so I figured I'd ask all of you. I'm looking at getting the overgrown island and the expanded lost island. Should I use a wish or spend gems while these islands are on sale? I've already maxed out my hibernation cave, and I've only spent like one wish ever, so I have a bunch just sitting around (though they're obviously harder to come by).

Even at half price those islands are costy. If I have something that costs over 1000 gems I always use a wish. You get a wish every 100 days so that are over 3 in a year

I just noticed some fine print on the bottom of the splash page that says something like "Dragonvale trademarks and related logos are property of Hasbro" and dated 2020, so is that just something Deca hasn't gotten around to changing yet, like the occasional BFS logo showing up, or did Hasbro sell the game but keep licensing rights because they plan to make more toys, plushies, t shirts, etc.?
While we normally don't spoil things here, I do recommend that players focus on getting a few extra of the following dragons soon: Monolith 3, 4, and 6 Stoneshell
Monolith's can be bred from any pairing of Monoliths, and Stoneshell isn't currently available and can only be cloned or received in a mystery egg.
I'm not getting any essence of abundance is there a way I can fix it??
