Hey..... all you old timers need to remember it isn't the bone that separates you. From my perspective what really separates the 1st gen players from the next gen players will be the leap year. 3.5 years till I/the rest of us...get that! I could feel bad, but what will separate my generation from the next will be the Panlong. How would you like to start next January and realize that you get to wait 12 years for that one.....so bone and sakura clover etc will come around yearly, put yourself in BFS's shoes. Us younger generation players Have a heavier cross to bear!!!! If next year is the "year of the rat" do you really think...could it be....hah!
Panlong ... you have nailed it there, imo.
I see IMO used a lot but I can't figure out what it means...
Aren't there 7 elements? Think you're forgetting metal at a minimum.
Thanks for reminding! I have reached gold status for my Metal shrine and so I left that out. What I missed out is the eighth one, Water shrine! Will rethink of the alternative to Sonic after the Paper.
Any suggestions from friends and experts here?
* 8 elements : plant(P), earth(E), fire(F), cold(C), lightning(L), water(W), air(A), metal(M) * M is already gold * If you have Bloom you can Cover the remaining elements best with Panlong (EFWA) and Bloom (PLC) * If you don't want to use Panlong but Paper (PEFC) this will leave you L, W, A Which you should split up in 3 groups ** L + W (Current or Plasma, both with long breeding time) ** L + A (Sonic) ** W + A (Fog or Rain) Depending on how much dragons from each element you already have the quantities of these groups will differ. * don't look at the shrines to get the amount you already have but for all your dragons are fed to 15 and none of your 15ers sold, better to make a list.
dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for
Does that include mine? Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty please. Begging on my hands and knees. Agreed to a second date after hysterically funny message won me over so may need it
WHAT?!? seriously? How does that happen? It sounds like you took that exceptionally well. That would drive me bonkers.
I'm very fond of the 5 year old who sold my Bone Dragon, and then spent 300 gems on an armada of Lava Dragons, and then spent several thousand food to feed them up to level 10. He would have bought more Lava Dragons, but I hadn't accumulated enough gems for him. We've talked about it. We're better now.
Regarding the posts about people playing Dragonvale from the start. There's a game that I play that every year they celebrate their anniversary. They give out anniversary presents to the gamers based on when they joined the game. I started 4 months after the game first started but had to wait 20 months for my first anniversary gift on their 2nd anniversary of the game's inception.
It would be interesting if they could deliver a statue or something to the players that had started the game....now how they'd pick to do that I don't know...ie the first week it opened? second week? They'd have to draw the line some where. My other game did it based on when people created their account. So I think if you created it the day after it opened....you had to wait until 2nd year anniversary. That said it's a completely different type of game where people could create their account prior to the game's opening day. (GW2 did the same thing - create account before could download)
If they only plan on the paper dragon, then they're cutting it off by year, and no one that started after anniversary 1 will ever be able to get it. Certain dragons like the Leap Year one will be indicators.
All in all we're not competing against each other, ok barring the "I hate" competition, and our islands aren't competing against anyone else too. I quite enjoy checking out my friends islands and getting ideas about how I might change mine up and design an egg collection display.

The slightly insane chromosome splicing dragon collector.
I missed out on anything prior to July but agree completely, it's a nice way to see those who have played longest. For example, much as I lust after the Leap Year dragon, I think it *should* be special to those there at that time and I think it will be a shame if all their specials reappear.
It'd be cool if BFS could come up with Version 2 of the Bone Dragon. So, same general design but a different color or something like that. That way, those of us who didn't play the game when the Bone Dragon first came out could still get one but those who have been here since the beginning can still keep their original Bone Dragon (and their status as long-standing players) and then add the new version of the dragon to their collection.
...and it would give us something to do. I don't think it would be much fun for us oldies to be sitting around twiddling our thumbs while others were in a frenzie over a limited dragon.
I was prompted to update my version of DragonVale yesterday, and I did so. I did not notice any change yet from the previous version. Do any of you find something difference after the update, or is it just to fix some bugs in the program?
Unfortunately, no changes for me, my game still crashes when I access the friends list on my iPad Maybe my iPad1 needs to be upgraded this Christmas?
I think that is kind of selfish myself. My son was 6 years old when it came out and has been playing since the second week of inception. He was just learning to read and did not understand the entire "breeding" concept of the game but did his best. He was not able to breed a bone dragon and has been waiting to get a chance again ever since. Are you any more seasoned or deserving than he is? At most you have been playing two weeks longer.
Without this forum or other Internet forums I'd be willing to bet that loads of people would have missed a dragon or two while trying to figure out the right combinations, or still be working on their shrines, you included.
Honestly meant no disrespect to anyone with that post and if it was taken the wrong way then i sincerely apologize. I wasnt saying that no one else deserves a chance to breed bone. As i said i cant wait to get my second. All i meant was that it was a good indicator as to how old some of our parks are. Ive put a ton of time into dragonvale over the last year (much to my wifes dismay) and it was just nice to see who else has been playing as long as i have. With so many of us stuck at level 35 its hard to tell whos been playing for a year and whose been playing for 6 months. Thats all. I meant no harm and hope that everyone understands that. I guess its just a leftover sentiment from work as seniority means quite a bit in my profession. Once again. Apologies to anyone i may have insulted and please excuse me if i came off as selfish. This forum and this community has been a big reason that im even still playing after a year.
Sean.
I understand what you are saying Sean. I actually sold my Halloween decorations...can't remember why but I regret it now. lol Me too with my husband. He still doesn't get it after a year of me playing this game. hehe Remembering kind of what the "wizards" said in the market though I had always assumed this dragon would make a come back because they said something like it comes around once a year and I also remember them saying it needed to be close to fire so I was horrified that if it wasn't in my fire habitat that it would disappear! lmao

Yep, agreed, the H in IMHO = humble. That would be why Tommy uses IMO instead of IMHO.
Your face.
BOT, your face looks like it's been draggin' along the pavement. Have you considered breeding through your nose so we don't have to smell your dragon breath? Or should we lock you up in the Epic Breathing Cave until you chew some Evergreen Dragon Breath mints?

Good morning, Tommy. Had a rough night? Have you had your coffee yet? Is today the day you breed an Opal?
Just caught up on the reading... Hope my post above doesn't come across as being angry either. Just wanted to pitch a perspective into my quest. Personally, I think they shouldn't change the dragon on a re-release, but perhaps when your dragons (any of them) reach a year old, you are able to get something for your park. Perhaps even each time a dragon reaches a year old (cupcakes for everyone). Something to signify your longevity, as well as acknowledging that you kept a dragon alive that long. Special monuments and such, or an achievement at the least.
Liquid, DVC,
I sympathize with both groups. I've been around the game for a fairly long while. I have owned a Bone Dragon, and I have woken to it no longer existing in my park. And I thought, no biggie, BFS made it pretty clear it would be coming back.
Since BFS made the soft commitment of re-releasing Bone, I think they should keep to it. You'll notice that BFS is quite deliberate in the way they position their dragons. For some (gemstone, most seasonal) it is stated very clearly that they will be back. Others (Paper!), not so much.
I think making a special re-coloured version of Bone would be dishonest.
BUT, one of the best ideas I've read on this forum is the one I'm quoting. Some kind of aging marker for dragons would be awesome. Liquid, please post your idea in the ATTN BFS thread.
Because that's what Bone is: a trophy attesting how long you've been around. It's like a hotmail address without any numbers or special characters in it (we're sorry, michael.kealey is already taken. We suggest "m1ka3l_K34l3y_1994774662@hotmail.com" instead). Some way of tracking age on a dragon would be genious.
So yeah, the TLDR version: BFS should deliver on their promises, and no funny business either.
Liquid - your post didn't come across as angry at all. But thanks for taking a second pass at it.
Snoce - good on you too for taking a second pass on your post.

Yeh...never thought of that..and LYD was a real pain. I think it may have been the most stressful for me. If I remember right it was the first one that was that short of a time frame to breed it. It was a panic frenzy to say the least.
While chatting with the "girls" through text today I realized that after 168 tries..yes you are seeing right I still have not got my 2nd Seasonal! Ugh!!! Ok..now the first combo I tried was 62 tries and nothing. Then I tried the combo I am currently using has been 106 tries total. I actually got the 1st Seasonal on try 10 so that is another 96 tries with this combo and no 2nd. That is just pathetic. Maybe I have power lines nearby my breeding caves or something messing with their fertility?! I have got to be the champion for worst luck in DV history.

Funny how that works....I have bred three seasonal's as fails trying for a rainbow. Still no rainbow.....maybe we can trade caves?

Maybe try butterfly/clover. I got all three of my seasonals with this combo as fails trying for my second gold oly

Well, they gave 25 gems as an anniversary present this year to everyone regardless of when they started the game. A statue is nice but I was EXTREMELY happy and grateful for the 25 gems.

iOs all up to date? Done all the suggestions at the BFS FAQ?
Might be a really good excuse to upgrade your iPad.
