My math skills tell me that there are 343 gems in the pot (185/106/52). The previous record was 169, back in March 2013.
We have 87 participants in this last I HATE gemstone comp. The previous record was 83, back in November 2012.
Some sad records: - The longest comp duration is now 31 days, as the March competition ended on the 31st. - The new longest unlucky streak is infinity! Sadly, Qchip was completely unable to breed Aquamarine in March 2013. The previous record was help by Anuj (the runner up in March), at 27 days.
I just went back to check. I had thought Anuj bred his AM on the 30th (at which time the comp would have been considered complete). But his announcement of his AM was at 12:06am on the 31st. So there you go. I shoulda checked. So indeed Jo is right, and the record for longest comp is 31 days, and likely never to be broken again.
Ooh no I wasn't trying to be clever! I thought you'd just typo'd. LC (I think) deemed the comp to have concluded on the 31st and April won the side-bet for it so that's why I remembered.
That said "Jo is (always) right" is a pretty good mantra to have in your life. I make my family repeat it 100 times, thrice daily, and it hasn't done them any harm
I tend to distribute my spare gems to those who look like they need them so please don't feel you have to return if you get one from me!
My GN won't let me in regularly so please don't send me gizmonauts crystals. I can't use or return them!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask right here in the thread. Lots of folks are capable of answering, as this competition has been around for awhile now. That said, the basis is that you need to be continuously breeding for the diamond with the correct parents. Only if you do not have a set of the required parents, are you allowed. To be breeding for just them. At all times, at least one of your breeding sites must be actively breeding in the hopes of getting a diamond. Hope that helps a bit, please refer to the initial post (top of page 1) in this thread for a much more eloquent description of the rules.
Been very busy with the scavenger hunt today, but just found some time to check the dragons, and, by golly, I am out! Will definitely need a display egg though as so pretty.
Wow! I got a 24 hour breed time on my sixth try. So I'm out really early this time. We'll see how long it takes to get a display egg.
