I just want to say that it was has been very discouraging in trying to breed the last two epic bots. I have yet to get the Hydro bot, even though I have won 3 gizmos for it in the battle arena. So far I have won 3 gizmos for the Nuclear bot, and guess what? That's right, you guessed it, I have a 48 hour bot breeding now!!! I guess that means I am out and can go back to the search for the Hydro bot. If anyone has a divining rod or any other means of detecting water, PLEASE send it my way.

Well I managed to fill all my baby pedestals with Botanists at one point, but 48 hour fails of any kind are remaining frustratingly elusive.

I Will have to think up a way of counting fails. In DV, I simply pedestal eggs & leave a gap if a fail is wanted for any reason. Use paving somehow perhaps.

Thanks to someone else, I have a good way using tiles and Roman numerals. Each fail is marked by one tile in a column. On the fifth fail, I delete the first 4 and put a tile in the five spot. On the tenth fail, I delete the ones and fives and put a tile in the ten spot. Quick explanation b/c I have no time. You can see it near the hydro zones on my outpost. Far right is ones column. I have two sections next to each other b/c I am counting for astro and steam separately.

Changed my strategy from hybrid to harvester/science and first throw is ---drumroll--- 48 hours.
Speedups more than welcome for the final confirmation, but I think I can get back to trying for thermal at last.

48h bot just processed, but it turned out to be an Astro. False alarm!

Mine proved to be NUCLEAR. So I'm out. Now I just need to work out where to place the reactor. An island about three miles away I'm thinking.

A good thing about these comps is that they put your lack of luck into perspective. Unless you win of course

Still no luck for me. Going to pull out the oil can and polish rag and see if a little spiffing up might help.

They are the worst. I had four of those before getting my first Hydro.

Still no luck for me in Gizmo. I just bred another Solar. I have been breeding Harvester/Science since the beginning and have used over 100 crystals, but still no Nuclear. I'll try not to whine too much about my bad luck though, because I had really great luck in DV and got my DR first try and Bearded second try. I might actually have a shot at winning this contest.

Harvester + Grav/Magnet will have shortest average fail times. Koala.
