Testing cloning with Elder, vs plant hybrid. Part 2. 100 with Level 20 Cactus.
Only 1 copy of the target, so 99 fails. 1186 hours of fails, averaging about 11 hours 50 minutes a fail. Using Cactus as a parent meant it came up a lot as the fails, and that 30 minute timer helped bring things down a lot. Even though we got a Rainbow and a DR. It seems that even if Rainbow dragons weren't fails when using an Elder, this still dramatically decreases the fail times. If you were immediately spend gems to move on to the next breed, you would have saved 222 gems in just the breeding cave alone.
The average Golden Hybrid fail went from 17.5 using Elder to 12.5 with Cactus
The average Regular Hybrid fail went from 8hrs 50mins to 5hrs 50 mins.
The average of the epics went slight up, from 47.5 hours to 50 hours. But because there are so few epic breeds, it didn't add that much to it over the course of 100 breeds.
Looking at the overview, using Cactus to clone with, gave 35 regular fails, 59 Golden Hybrids/Opposites, 5 epics and the 1 target.
Using the Elder gave 53 regular fails, 40 Golden Hybrids, 5 epics and 2 of the target.
It seems to show that the epics have the same chance of being bred, what ever parent gets used.
Then the fails are split between the golden hybrids, and the regulars. Using Cactus as a parent breeds a lot more golden hybrids, because you have more than twice of many of them when you add plant into the mix (including the opposite dragons). This means you make a lot less regular dragons as fails. Except the one you are using to clone, so you choose the one with the shortest breed time. Cactus or Poison. If you were just spending a gem to speed them up, Flower would work as well.
Again, this is quick and dirty. Only 200 breeds. If people want to collect more data, it would always be welcome.

And here's the results of 100 attempts at breeding for Ocular. I can't make epics above Level 10 in my test park. I am not sure of the difference it might have made if they were level 20 dragons. I have not seen any bonus using level 20 regular dragons when trying for limiteds in the past.
1 Ocular, which is about the same results as cloning. There is very little difference between 1.5% of cloning and the 2% of breeding, but I thought we might have seen more of an effect in the breeding island. 100 breeds is obviously a very limited sample size.
18 other epics were bred as fails. I guess that is what you expect at the breeding island, and might have something to do with why we only bred 1 Ocular. Almost half of them were Cyclops, which is to be expected with it's cloning rate the same as regular dragons. No instances of Barbarous because its regular cloning rate is less than 1%. You would expect to get more of them if you bred Cyclops and Barbarous in the CBC.
14 other limiteds were bred.
67 golden hybrids were bred, because there were so many to choose from.
0 regular dragons were bred, with the rares taking up all the bandwidth. Again, not a surprise.
So 1993.4 hours in breeding fails. With the 20% discount, it actually came down to 1546.72 hours. About 150 hours more than then Cloning with an Elder in the CBC and 360 hours more than cloning with Cactus.
So it seems that the breeding chance is pretty much the same with all 3 methods. Cloning with Cactus gives you quicker fails, and therefore more chances to try for it. It seems like the best option to me.
