Maybe this should be "first to Find" . On a more serious note. If we are breeding something else when the combo finally comes out do we have to buy it out - one at least?

I'll play! This is my first time in a competition, so please bear with my questions: 1. I don't get the #+#+# thing. 2. We don't even know how to get the Jade yet, do we? The Sandbox isn't giving any clues.
Hello Alpha,
The #s represent how many gems the participants pledge. For example, AGS pledged 2+1, meaning two gems to first place, and one gem to the runner up.

No. You are not required to "buy out" whatever is breeding once we find a combination. You just have to begin using the correct combination (or necessary materials to breed your first pair of parents) once it starts and you have an available slot. ---that said, some will buy them out, especially when they are an epic that still has a long time to go...but this is completely optional

Personally, I think it would be only fair to give any existing breedings a chance to finish up (say 24 hours??) when the official combo is announced.

Lol see above. Lusty Custard posted at the same time as you! You don't have to buy anything out that you've already got going on in your breeding sites. I nearly always do, but that's just because I'm really impatient and get over-excited easily. This is an ingrained and fundamental personality flaw deep within me that I am powerless to overcome
There is no obligation to buy out at all.
I tend to distribute my spare gems to those who look like they need them so please don't feel you have to return if you get one from me!
My GN won't let me in regularly so please don't send me gizmonauts crystals. I can't use or return them!

One point of clarification:
There is a time when you are required to buy out - this occurs when you mistakenly stick the wrong pair into the cave/island and start them breeding. This is, of course, only after the competition has officially begun and while not a very common occurrence, it has happened to the best of us (i.e. myke) & the worst of us (cough cough LC cough cough).
---self taunting to make me an early loser...before we officially started no less

I was wondering if it was too early to start whining about my "breeding-challenged" dragons but if LC can start taunting I should be able to start the whining, right?

Just as well. I just went through about 750 gems as my contribution to the cause. I only have 5 left. (Salamander/Pollen - fail)

To clarify the clarification, you only need to be breeding in one cave for the comp. So if you accidentally put the wrong pair in one of your caves BUT your other cave has the correct pair, you don't need to buy out your mistake.

Fletch, your clarification of the original clarification clarified it so nicely that I feel clear about the clarification and that which it was clarifying.

LOL. POTH
POTM!! And since she didn't actually POTM the original comment, does that mean it's still up for grabs, b/c I'll take it.
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

Myke, I'm surprised at you! You usually come up with sidebets to promote interest. Why haven't you started one for how long it will take to find the combo? I don't ever enter sidebets, but I am sure that you could get many people to bet against you, especially debstoy. She loves winning gems from you.

Agreed! If finding a combo for these new dragons will take this long, we may need to open up a "Guess the Combo for the [insert name] Dragon" competition.
AGS, Spotted Cow, I need GCIDs please. I'll still hold a spot for you. But do get back to me soon please.
EDIT: found "... GCID is spotted cow 06..." in another thread.

This month's achievements: Lapis and Aquamarine egg
This month's other "achievements" (aka fails) so far:
Too many to count :-(
I said I was in for 3+2+1 (though it's not noted on the master list), but it just occurred to me that I don't have the ability (or know-how??) to send multiple gems to 1 person. Am I missing something? I'm at level 37...soon to be 38.
