I second that, after all, up to now, we got the successful combo suggested from other sources and not as a result from trying some random pairing.

Yeah the game, for me, has certainly changed since I discovered this community, the kids at the wiki and have access to a test account. Instead of just being my real life family talking about things and trying combinations and just plodding along, the information is at everyone's fingertips in a heartbeat. It has taken something from the game for me, knowing all the answers immediately.
Of course what I get in exchange is friendship, an extended family, the chance to help a large number of people and share in the joy of people reaching their goals. Good with the bad.

It's not so much the impact on my life, as I would not let it interfere with the important things, just that playing the game has changed. Instead of 6 of us talking about the game in real life, seeing their faces light up, etc and there being an awful lot more trial and error, and therefore longevity in the game as we played. Now each new thing is discovered, explored and put to rest in a matter of hours. There was a reason I had none of the major rares when I first joined the other forum, and I guess it was connected to me joining, as I had been playing for months and was looking for some answers.
But I miss the times when it just would have been my immediately family talking over a cup of tea about what we might try to get this new elusive Emerald Dragon and working hard to get it before May was over. Having a working combination given to me by the time I checked the forum after the update was out has taken more than a little of the magic away from the game. I'm sure this is connected to me not speeding up my fails as I make each dragon a challenge to get within the time frame available. I get everything I can from it.

So number 2 daughter, 18 year old, put Lichen + Crystal in the cave, first time trying for the Emerald Dragon, and boom 31 hours. It finished up this morning, straight back in and boom, another 31 hours. 2 for 2. She says to me, "How jelly are you?" Me: "Did you ask, 'How jelly am I?" Her: "Yeah ... I don't get to use that expression much." Me ... at a loss for words.
Now I know I missed a golden opportunity there for some comedy but I couldn't think of a good line. So for the next 24 hours I'm opening it up for you to come up with the funniest comment as judged by me. Winner gets a gem.
