Wisp + Wisp can be excellent when the stars align, but the Wraith dragon fails really bring that average down quick.
Most people seem to prefer the relative stability of Plant + Dark, since Nightshade and Fungus have such similar breed times. Light + Plant is slightly better on average but the breed times swing more.
Of course, we've probably got a new dragon showing up in just about 2 hours, so Air + Air might be the safest bet at the moment...
So far I bred Wisp/Wisp 49 times. I got 25 Wisps, 14 Sparks and 10 Wraithes.
Just to let you know that version 2.1 of my spreadsheet is now available with island 11 and a few more features. Check my signature for the download link.

Hi all, I'm a newbie with a park optimisation q which has nothing to do with math (to which I am allergic); I'm level 18, have read most of the posts in beginners thread, and this thread, and cannot find a clear list of which elements go well together for placing on islands. I'm seeking sets that can be broken down into either doubles or eventually singles ( I don't know how many islands are possible in the game) as I can earn more islands. I currently have three islands; one devoted to working ( colosseum, racetrack, food, nursery and hibernation) And one with cold, water, metal, earth, fire; an earth boost and a cold boost And one with plant, lightning, air Have just bought a third island; not sure what to place on it so I can start using boosts without negative impacts.... Does the following work Earth/cold Plant/air Lightning/metal Water/?? And then there's dark, sun, moon, and others??? Help please ? Thankyou!

Boost placement is nowhere as critical as it used to be.
Not so long ago, a water boost would boost Water element 20% AND penalise lightning element 20%. Under those conditions boost placement had to be considered very carefully. Now they have done away with the negative boost, making it just a matter of boosting whatever you want wherever you want.
Now just boost the high earners. Especially the 3 and 4 element dragons. Panlong for example can get a quadruple boost (~80%) by placing Water, Earth, Fire and Air boosts with it. A quadruple boosted Panlong is going to fill up its habitat very quickly though. So you might want to think about placing the boost so the habitats fill in about the time between your clearing the DC.
Boosts do NOT affect Epic dragons. At least they didn't last time I looked. The rules have a habit of changing. So fill any islands with boosts on them with normal habitats not epic.

You can put Epic habitats anywhere they will fit in your scheme. My Spooky Island has a Dark boost with Dark and Light (Dark/Light and Rifts) habitats as well as a Dream hab for Nightmare dragons, an Olympus hab for Zombies and Hydras and an Earth hab for Nosferatu, Ghosts and Bones. The Earth dragons don't get boosted, but they aren't such big earners anyway and they're SPooKY!

Thanks for the feedback, appreciated! Fwiw; newbies tend to try to find answers before bothering people, and a LOT of the info in the early posts on threads has been steering me wrongly. May I suggest a locked post insert at the beginning of long threads stating that lots of changes have occurred in game rules and while its fine to read from beginning, don't take action until we get up to more recent posts?? Even the two breeding calculators, sandbox and dvcalc, don't agree anymore, I wonder if dvcalc has not been updated by its author... Love this game

I gave up on DVCalc a long time ago. It is (or maybe was - its been a long time) based on users reporting results. This means that the results are inevitably skewed for two main reasons: Malicious people can report spurious results. And unless good people report ALL their results, the percentages will be skewed in favour of the desirable outcome. In other words there is a natural tendency of well meaning people to report "Hey I got the fantastic Kalamazoo dragon by breeding Plant and Fire." but NOT report their 17th through 42nd Poison from the same pairing.

Omg thanks GD, I shall remove the link from my iPhone notebook in which I'm keeping all these tips and breeding thoughts:) I think actually I may move to pen and paper to record what I'm hunting and trials and fails etc; initially I thought I could do it paperless via iPad and iPhone, but it's a lot of screen switching already....so maybe not Cheers

Yes, there is a lot to do, and a lot to record. Currently I am designing a spreadsheet for people like you, but it's not quite ready yet

Hi and welcome. Your first three goals won't be too big a deal. They will come if you continue playing. Though you may need to wait for the return of limiteds.
Your fourth goal will be very difficult. Expect to take YEARS to complete it. If not decades. Feeding a single dragon to L20 takes something over 10 million treats. Using Beanstalks that's about half a billion cash per dragon.
That means you will have to get serious about income production. Choose one of the high earners you like and build up their numbers. Then level them as high as you can as a priority You will also need to take into account the cost of breeding and housing into the equation. That makes Double Rainbow a poor choice as the cost of taking them out of production takes a long time to recoup. Of course if they happen along anyway they are a bonus. Also avoid the high earning normal dragons like Paper as the only way to get big returns on them is to collect VERY frequently. Hourly or more often around the clock. The epics with their larger earning caps are better options as you only need to collect once or twice a day to maximise income.
Popular choices are Rainbow, Solar Eclipse, Lunar Eclipse. Solar Eclipse is very popular as it is quick to breed (reducing loss of income) and earns very well.
Personally I dedicate two entire islands to Large Rainbow habitats.. Though I also have another of Sun Habitats.

Was starting to think this thread might be dead lol
What dragons should i save and which ones should i sack off? most if not all dragon are at least level 11 Mono elements are 15 and some panlongs are 20 some are 15
UPDATE : Sacked off x5 Lvl 15 panlongs cause i already had two and a display and im shutting down the earth habitats

Hi kaoeg16, Think about what categories you want to level up first. Some do limiteds as a priority. Some go by "pretty". Others look at the monthly forecast and level up dragons so they are at high level when needed for breeding. Keep them in the habitats with the greatest cap they will go in. I keep at least one of every type of habitat so I can swap out dragons as needed but I actually have mostly L1 "normal" dragons on show. Of course I'll bring a L20 Quake for breeding and forget to put it back when I am done, so mostly my islands are a mess.
And we don't kill old threads here. Though we do give them peace and quiet if they want to have a nice long snooze.

Start at lvl 15 for all dragons. I personally do it a stage at a time. All my dragons are at lvl 15 currently. I'm gonna wait till I have 50 mil treats then I'm just gonna spend them all upgrading as many dragons to level 16 as possible. Solar eclipse is a popular choice cause it's the best dragon
But yes, some people choose solstice, others solar/Lunar eclipse, etc. Choose your fav and run with it. Also use your omnitat as to store double rainbows as the highest earners (or quad boosted panlongs.).

I think im gonna lower my goal to level 15 for all dragons lol
That's a much more achievable goal. Don't forget to take your colosseum dragons to L20 though. Last time I looked , best options were Air...Panlong Metal...Kite Water, lightning... Current Light, dark... Any Rift Everything else... Paper
Of course these are not exactly common dragons so you may not have them all.
That's a great idea for quad boosted panlongs in the omnitats JV. I just may do it. I have a bunch in hibernation.

I personally prefer having all dragons on display. Slowly moving my dragons up to level 20, I'm in no hurry!
