I just attempted to insert a screen shot of what the island looks like and its placement once achieved. Not my island, family member of a family member.
(And hi. I am new here, hope that worked properly.)
Edit: Well that didn't work. Nevermind. It ends up to the right of kairos' island. And you can put habitats and decos on it.
edit: trying again.
Hi, svrellia, welcome to this forum ! Is it possible for you to post another pic of the lost island which is more zoomed out so that we can see how the bottom of the island looks like in the end position of the island ? ( if that last picture was allready fully zoomed out, it could also be a picture that doesn't has the upper part of the island but the lower one) I'm not sure whether I like that island or not. And seeing how it fits in the whole island group would be very cool.

Just another thing I noticed in svrellia's picture: the complete Vernal Glass is on the Lost Island as well, which indicates that this is probably a final gift to those who've completed the whole Magic Egg event.
It doesn't seem to be the complete vernal glass, though, it seems to be missing the lower part, or maybe its somehow sunk underground. Curious...
Maybe it's because the bottom part on the Vernal event meter is intended to represent the Lost Island itself.
Has anyone figured out whether the timer resets every 24 hours automatically or whether a new 24 period begins when it's eligible but you have to collect eggs to start it?
In other words, do we have to be vigilant not to permit down time, to get the most 24 periods and thus the most eggs
It doesn't reset automatically, I didn't collect any ME from my second park until this morning and the time left now shows 13 hours until the reset... which means the 24 hour countdown started from when I collected ME today rather than from the time when I collected ME on the first night.

If I recall correctly, the Light/Dark event reset magic in an approximation of the 24-hour period. I started playing at different times in the morning each day, and that was when the timer would reset. I'm not too sure how it works for people whose timers reset halfway through the day (my timezone is GMT+8), but if that's the case with the Magic Egg event too, then we don't have to worry too much about having to keep track of when to start the timer going (like with the colosseum).
Edit: Looks like noodles has more concrete evidence, so ignore this!

Dunno if this has been noted elsewhere yet, but obstacle clearing appears to be capped at around ten eggs per day. Just went to clear a small rock that finished overnight (after removing some bushes & small trees); rock yielded no eggs.
I'm still torn over whether or not I like this setup. I appreciate not *having* to grind this one out, I really do! But having such low caps, it's easy to max out very quickly with a big park, and then there are long swathes of the day where there's absolutely nothing to do to forward progress. Planting bushes & breeding plant dragons was tedious, but at least there was a sense of control and of accomplishment. This event has neither for me so far.
Elements of luck and of needing to do a little work (though not the crazy lengths many of us went to with the last event) to win might make it a bit more interesting.

While I'd also like some sense of control over how fast I'm moving in the event, I'm also really glad that I'm not given the opportunity to over-obsess with the non-stop grinding to earn magic eggs. I recall having pains in my thumb from tapping the same areas repeatedly, and I probably was a little anti-social and unproductive then too.
It's not a certainty, but hopefully BFS has planned the event out so that players can achieve all the prizes with little to no IAP. Until we know for sure, we'll just have to keep earning our daily quota (looks like 125 for the majority, 135 for those who still have island obstacles to clear).
Maybe all this event is is a way for BFS to reassure us they're still giving the original DV some attention, and not simply ignoring it while they work on the sequel.

Me too. It's really different and I think those new to the game are not disadvantaged and if anything due to clearance eggs perhaps a slight advantage. Iy also seems better fro friends side of things ie lots of new party hat friends! I love looking at other parks so it's brilliant in my humble opinion
Was looking for some space to place the Egg of Burcadia, it hit me that the Egg looks like a purple artichoke. heehhh hehh, yep yep it's Friday, and I am hardly working
Yes, it looks sort of like an artichoke, but also it has a dragon face incised on it, as do some other rocks on the Lost Island. Kind of nice.
Hi all. Long time no post. Just wanted to mention a few opinions about this event. Firstly i think far too many of us are focusing on the sense of immediacy brought on here. This is an event to reward us for daily play and keep us coming back over and over. The free rewards are given out for collecting eggs. True. But there is nothing to suggest that once the event is over we wont be able to purchase the prizes we failed to obtain. Think december of two years ago when many of us thought we would have to make the hard choice between a gift dragon or a display egg only to find we could breed it a few days later. Or more recently we were given an opportunity to earn free dragons and habitats during the rift event but could later breed and purchase them. I think that even if we dont earn the lost island for free during the event we will still have the option of purchasing it. In fact that brings me to my next point. I think the lost island will not only be purchasable beyond the event but also necessary to obtain the next legendary dragon lapidarius which is mentioned by name in the description for the genstone habitat. I think the lost island may provide a home for lapidarius and the vernal glass may be part of it much like the perch of kairos.
Thank you very much ! Well, I have to admit that the island looks much better in that position. Sigh, hopefully we'll get a lot of extra chances for MEs.

Good thoughts. But what a name for a Legendary Dragon : Lapidarius ! Sounds so lapidary ! The gem habitat on the lost island shows a statue of Lapidarius. I think it shows a dragon head. But if you don't look closely you could fancy it being the statue of a rabbit. Which fits perfectly for an Easter Egg Hunting Event.

Somehow I totally failed to notice the dragon face on the egg. Thanks for pointing it out to blind members like me!

I have to agree. As someone who didn't get a chance to participate in the magic event, maybe I see things differently. This is the only game I've played where the higher "coinage"/gems, normally only available through purchase, is actually pretty easy to get in the game with just a little patience. Other games might give out gems on rare occasions, but not only can we give up to 6/day to friends, we can breed special dragons that give gems. Now we have an event that not only gives us something new to enjoy in the game, but gifts us another gem habitat and 2 more gem dragons, and those dragons aren't the slow twice a month earners, but the high once/week type. And the possibly out of reach reward isn't the dragons, but an extra island, which while nice, isn't really required to play the game. So yeah, I'm enjoying this event and may even spend some money on it, like I did during the BEB event.
Edit to add: I almost forgot the Colosseum and Dragon Track, both of which offer more opportunities for gems. I'm still trying to reach my personal goal of all perfect taps on the Track, racing 2-3 times a day until I get the gem prize. I had my closest race yesterday, when I got all but one. It's a fun way to keep my interest going during those 48 hour incubations!

"If you find and buy enough magic eggs, the Wizards will work their magic and keep this island in your park permanently!"
This is the description for the Lost Island. The thing that makes me concerned in its statement is the 'and' in it. Not quite sure what it is directly implying, but it may mean that the island is only obtainable through the means of purchasing Magic Eggs with real money AND finding them if you wish.

Since we already knew you had bad eyes, I shouldn't be surprised that you don't know that I look like a cute little baby spring seasonal. However, I thought you were going to have your eyes checked after that last big blunder you made. Maybe those bad eyes have something to do with your current condition as a messy pile of bones... You really should do something about those eyes. BTW do you still have 23 billion in assets?
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

Take a look at the Q & A BFS had on Facebook yesterday, it is listed in the 3rd (think it is 3rd) of OP's. Says all will be available without spending real, hard, cold cash.
