Hi all. Long time no post. Just wanted to mention a few opinions about this event. Firstly i think far too many of us are focusing on the sense of immediacy brought on here. This is an event to reward us for daily play and keep us coming back over and over. The free rewards are given out for collecting eggs. True. But there is nothing to suggest that once the event is over we wont be able to purchase the prizes we failed to obtain. Think december of two years ago when many of us thought we would have to make the hard choice between a gift dragon or a display egg only to find we could breed it a few days later. Or more recently we were given an opportunity to earn free dragons and habitats during the rift event but could later breed and purchase them. I think that even if we dont earn the lost island for free during the event we will still have the option of purchasing it. In fact that brings me to my next point. I think the lost island will not only be purchasable beyond the event but also necessary to obtain the next legendary dragon lapidarius which is mentioned by name in the description for the genstone habitat. I think the lost island may provide a home for lapidarius and the vernal glass may be part of it much like the perch of kairos.
Actually, as far as I can tell, the Rift event DID have habitats that have never been otherwise purchaseable.
This is the description for the Lost Island. The thing that makes me concerned in its statement is the 'and' in it. Not quite sure what it is directly implying, but it may mean that the island is only obtainable through the means of purchasing Magic Eggs with real money AND finding them if you wish.

Yeah, I agree. There's no indication in that Q&A that we can earn all the prizes without making any purchase. Maybe we can, but I doubt BFS will actually state that too clearly, since one of their goals is after all to encourage players to spend a little bit of money. Telling us outright that we can earn all the prizes just by playing will probably lower their profits. We'll just have to wait and see.

also BFS have only ever said it is possible to collect all the dragons without spending real money. As far as I am aware They have never said it would be possible to collect everything without spending money. To date we haven't needed to, but that doesn't mean we are not seeing a change in policy.

I think the confusion arises from the mismatch of the question and the answer, if you look carefully at it. The question was the same one we've all been having: Do we need to make purchases to get all the prizes? The answer from BFS actually looks like an evasion of the question, telling methods of earning eggs instead. They're probably not going to say for certain whether we can get all the prizes without spending money, just so that players will spend a bit in that uncertainty.

Hi all I'm new to this forum, I started playing during the light and dark event and my park is level 31. I was planting the 50p treats and I was getting 2eggs when harvesting. So I thought I would share that you don,t have to do the expensive sarjin peppers. My gcid is penguvader if anyone wants to be dragonvale friends. Happy egg hunting all. X

I have only been playing since thanksgiving. This is the first event I have experienced, except for the bring it back, which to be fair , I had no idea what that was while it was happening. Waiting for the next one.....
I assume that this event will be around to give a fair shot at gettin the island if you play enough Not a problem in my house. We are starting a chapter a DV anonymous 80 or so eggs a day right? About 40 days? Think this event will be around that long? .
I am not sure about the limits for eggs each day. I think I exceeded them slightly yesterday on the getting of gold coins. If you keep at it aft the fist big egg rush onthe dayyou seem to get 2 more here and there.
Also, I have been hammering away at the lower priced treats- as well as experimenting at different price levels. You can get a lot of eyes quickly and the keep experimenting for more. My normal treat buying pattern is to buy 8 or 9 dragonfuit each day, keeping large treat farms available to buy st peppers as needed. Just shuffling that's whole pattern round to maximize egg finding time.
Bother, I was hoping that Pixie had found a different reply where BFS addressed the rewards particularly.
I find that I'm MUCH more inclined to spend real cash on a game if there is the option to earn without buying. In this case, if they said "The only way to get the Lost Island is by paying $5." (or $25 or whatever amount), I wouldn't buy it. If they say "you can earn enough eggs if you work hard, but you have the option of buying some eggs", then I appreciate their generosity and probably would toss in some money to support them. Then I'd be spending some cash to save myself some work, and to support a company that has an ethic that I really like.
I was at 800k coins, working toward the billion. Then I realized that I'd never purchased the 500k island, so now that's on the way. I think I'll save the clearing in hopes of double egg weekends, though. :-)
So when I looked at the details of the event I realised just how many eggs 4000 were. Since I missed both April 10 and 11 on a ski trip I'm already behind! I did a quick sum with a calculator and 14x125 is 1750 eggs, not even enough for BOTH dragons. I missed 250 of them, meaning my eggs max out at 1500 eggs. I think that this means that maybe in Easter Sunday or something there will be an event to allow for more eggs, so that the max for all 14 days is 2000 eggs, allowing for all but the island. This would require two double egg days! Personally I dislike the fact that they do max the eggs out....I want to be able to make up for my missed days. So far the max eggs available are 375, which will get you close to the end of the habitats bar.. I think I might have to spend money on the game. I might buy £25 worth of eggs! But my question is why gems can't get eggs!? This infuriating, as I don't see a way to get a full set of dragons (2000 eggs) Grrr Koala to all

BTW, I had an uncleared island sitting around so I started clearing obstacles as soon as the Egg Hunt downloaded. It does appear to be 2 eggs per obstacle regardless of size and it seems to cap at a measly 10 eggs
So if you're clearing an island, don't remove more than 5 obstacles a day!
I'm worse than upset. This seemed to be the only way to get decent eggs. (I am right in thinking its a two week event right?) therefore you could get 140 more eggs. BUT JUST BEFORE THE EVENT I cleared a whole island! Agh. That's tonnes down the drain. I have given up on both dragons! Could someone who has already got the habitat please say how! I am desperate ,

You are right if you parse out the words that carefully, but being that devious and evasive would be against the character shown by BFS in the past. I would be very disappointed in them if, after giving that answer, they then required cash to get the Lost Island. Am choosing to stay on the positive side of this issue and believe BFS means we can earn all the prizes by finding eggs.

They haven't given a specific end time, only that it will last "several" weeks. Am guessing there will be additional ways to gather eggs as we move through the event, or double egg weekends, or upping the number of eggs awarded for hunting.....something that will get us over the hump to earn the prizes. We just have to have patience as their plan unrolls.

Lets not forget that they increased the daily caps for magic during the Dark/Light event.
It would not surprise me if they did so for this event as well.

send an email to BFS support, they will check and give you your party hat eggs. They have done that for other people.

I haven't posted here for a long, long while, and for a reason! I got a bit bored of DragonVale and have not been active in the game for many months. I think it all started with the update that changed the font in the game to that horrible look that did not fit the DragonVale theme at all. At that moment I quit the game in a mental protest and didn't touch it until the font was changed back. Kinda. Anyways, I returned to the game, but I had so much else to do, and I had completely ignored DV for so long that I just forgot about it.
Anyways, I am back now, and all my thanks go to Pixie/The A-Team! Why? The e-mail! I was casually looking through my inbox when I saw this mass-email about the egg hunt, and I decided to go into the game for once just to check it out. I realised that I actually had missed DV much more than I thought, and I am now happy to be a part of this community again. I have now spent at least five or six hours the last few days on ripping out my old island and replacing everything with a completely new style! When my Panlong Dragon finishes in the Colosseum it is also going to be my first ever Lvl 20 dragon!
About this event, I am going in to the hunt with a positive attitude, aiming for the Island! Koala to all and thanks again to the A-Team!
