Just did my first sweep of the morning. With a maxed park, I got 3 eggs. I'm going to be annoyed if the only way to get the island is by paying real money. I'm thinking of all those who cannot do so, and therefore have no chance of getting everything.
I think we were so successful in exploiting the gaps in the magic event, that BFS has made sure that there is not going to be a repeat. They may not have made as much money as expected. And Hasbro will demand a profit from this event.

u get eggs when the chest is displayed. Just think that habitat every time at 2-3 dc is giving out eggs on in 10 times still you would exploit it wont you ?? so got to wait for the habitat to get filled with DC and once chest appears you can try your luck

Yes, I know. I'm trying to figure out anything about the soft caps that Myke was talking about. I've now collected from most low DC habitats at least twice, no more eggs at all. And one or two from 3 sets of Dragon Roots. Looks like there is no way that we can earn all the rewards if we need 200 eggs a day.

Maybe it's because I only updated my game after collecting the first sweeps of the day, but I'm still occasionally getting some eggs here and there when I sweep habitats with the chest icons, and some when I harvest treats.
For today, I'll just plan to assess the number of eggs I've earned before I go to bed, so I can get a rough gauge of how many eggs can be earned in a day. The part that scares me though, is BFS saying it'll get harder to earn the eggs as we go along, so I'm hoping that what they mean is "in one day."
As I mentioned earlier, I'll hold off on making any magic egg purchase until I know for sure if I need it. What I'm wondering is why BFS didn't offer a purchase similar to the one they offered during the Light/Dark Magic event, where you could make a first purchase for the first upgrade/prize for pretty cheap. I would have needed little persuading to make such a purchase.
GCID: rionhow Thanks to ElektronX for my Light Rift avatar!
Nothing for racing (last magic event there were prizes). Nothing for feeding dragons, either (I've been stockpiling food for an Easter dragon mass promotion party and decided to advance five dragons on one habitat).
For me, being in Switzerland, the event started yesterday around 11 pm. By 1:30 am I had sort of collected everything possible and it came to a stop of getting any further egg. This morning, nada, nothing on big after night sweep, gave a gem, nothing nothing. Have to let the whole day pass without any hope of any further egg until it resets. Quite upsetting. Tonight i will try to see how many eggs a day you can approx get before the next reset. But i am afraid it will only be around 115 or around, not more.
Must you have purchased the gem island in order to be able to use the gem habitat given as a price for 160 eggs? How about the ovalith dragon is it unusable with the gem island or can you keep it in a regular habitat on a regular island?
Hi all I'm new to this forum, I started playing during the light and dark event and my park is level 31. I was planting the 50p treats and I was getting 2eggs when harvesting. So I thought I would share that you don,t have to do the expensive sarjin peppers. My gcid is penguvader if anyone wants to be dragonvale friends. Happy egg hunting all. X
Also do you have to get the prizes in order? and what happens if you cash in for the gemstone habitat and you don't have a gemstone island? And are there any prizes with the exception of the first that can be used by someone who has not purchased a gemstone island?

I wonder if the feelings of annoyance/upset comes from the fact that as more units of magic were needed, there was more psychological reward when acquiring them. We needed tens of thousands of magic to get all the rift rewards.
This time, 2 eggs is the basic reward, not 1. So the psychological reward of 4000 eggs is halved. I don't understand why you get 2 eggs at a time. I'd rather collect them one at a time for more 'yay!' factor when collecting.
I have changed my treat farms for small ones to make reseeding easier. I will grow roots and harvest when I can. I will keep an eye on how much more I get before the recharge.
Does anyone know if there's a cap on the eggs from clearing obstacles?

As I understand it, you get the rewards in order. Have a look in the help menu by tapping on the glass window on the event island.
And welcome to the forum, it is very friendly and helpful.

Welcome to the forum, penguvader. Please feel free to ask for anything you need to know. People here are very friendly and helpful. There is a gem exchange thread for those playing with a gcid, and some people show which platform they use under their avatar.

Woke up this morning to full treasure chests and treat farms in both parks. In one park I got 2 eggs from DC and 4 eggs from treats, nothing at all in the other. I could have miscounted yesterday. I'm not sure we can get even the 5th prize without a purchase. It takes a lot of the fun out of this. I blame Hasbro.
This morning I had full DC in all habitats and treat farms and collected the party hats at my friends parks, I received around 20 magic eggs and then nothing. Last night I grew the low cost dragon snaps in 2 treat farms, I received 2 points for 1 treat farm 0 for other. I kept doing this, hoping it was like the magic in the bush buying, but when I tried to do this again this morning with all 11 treat farms, received only 2 magic for all 11 farms. I am a little confused. Sure hope you don't have to buy the magic eggs to gain the prizes. So far growing dragon snaps seem the way to go.

I tried that and the eggs quickly dried up to nothing. I got 20 from party hats, but nowt else since this morning's meagre crop. I have managed to summon the tenth island, giving me a couple of days to build up the DC for clearance.
In the smaller park, I'm saving for the ninth island, but I don't know if it will be in time.

I stopped guessing and did the math. Assuming 125 eggs/day (20 hats + 40 treats + 40 habitats + 25 colliseum gold), it takes 8 days to get 1000 eggs. With the 50 we got to start, we will have accumulated 2050 eggs at the end of day 16. That's enough for the first 5 prizes with room to spare.
If the event goes through 4/30 that's 21 days so we would have 2675 eggs. The max purchase is 1250 eggs for $24.99. That would bring us to 3925 eggs, still 75 short so that's an additional $1.99.
I didn't count eggs from island clearing or any sort of bonus weekends because those aren't a given at this point. We need 32 days to get all the prizes assuming 125/day.
There is no hard daily cap like there was with the Light/Dark event. Instead, to control how many eggs we find, BFS has implemented a diminishing returns system where you eventually stop receiving any eggs at all for the stuff that you do.
BUT, just like with the Light/Dark event, there is a 24hr timer (click on the stained glass thingie on the Easter Island, then Help, then the Info button for How to Play). When the timer expires, the diminishing returns are reset and you can find oodles of eggs again.
I'll be doing my best to count how many eggs I get for each type of activity, as well as my total.
There seems to be a lot of anxiety about the event requiring real cash to complete. We'll see how it goes down in the end. But for those of you who have an optimistic bone, here are some encouraging ideas: - Maybe we'll get "double magic" weekends - Maybe, as we unlock prizes, we also unlock a new way of collecting eggs. For example, maybe after acquiring the first egg pedestal, we will start to "find" eggs when we hatch dragons. And maybe we will "find" eggs when we gift gems to friends only after we unlock the gemstone habitat.
But these are just ideas. Who knows. It's probly best if we all prepare ourselves emotionally for having to spend money or having to accept that you won't unlock everything.

Great analysis, Susie Spieler. I'll add this info to the Saved Topics at the start of this thread.
But there is no guarentee of gold in coleseum, so it will be even harder. I hope that this lasts a long time.
