Hello everyone, someone in chat on the wiki mentioned he turned in his Fireflies and had 6 extra Fireflies.
He said instead of getting 1 gem for the 5 fireflies he got 2. Unfortunately I don't know how else we can check on this without completing the even during Double Firefly Weekend, which would mean not getting Fireflies Monday morning.
I'm way over in getting the tower and will cash them in probably Sunday so will keep you posted unless someone else does it earlier.

I'm just thinking, is the tower even worth going for? I mean really, being able to breed sun/moon/dawn/dusk without waiting is nice, but does it really serve any other purpose other than to be a trophy?

It seems to just be a trophy. What I'm not sure is if they mean the current dusk sky is what they mean by "night". I do like it better than the blue sky and clouds though.
It could be as simple as 1 gem per five fireflies or part thereof. So the first five ffs got 1 gem, and the remainder got the second.
If true it would be a nice gesture from BFS.

I think this works the same way like how the magic eggs were transformed (rounding of to the nearest whole number).
We we have a note on the wiki about magic eggs:
"The amount of gems was rounded of to the nearest whole number. For example, if a player collected 987 magic eggs, he/she would get 198 gems which was rounded of from 197.4." This should have been 197 if it was to be rounded to nearest whole number, right?
However, in this case its 1.2 rounded of to 2.0. hmmm..Maybe everything goes to a higher value instead of a lower even though the nearest whole number would be the lower value.
Yay! I got the tower! I could have done it without any more gems, but I got impatient and gilded my Lightning shrine which gave me precisely the amount of FFs I needed

I keep wondering if there are going to be more dragons that will be bred differently according whether its day or night. Several times I've heard others on this board hope for stellar dragons or Zodiac dragons. Even the new loading screen has a firefly 'tracing' what could be a constellation. The fireflies also seem to morph into stars. Maybe its just artistic license and not hints at all. But, these possible dragons could all be affected by time of day. If so, the Twilight Tower would be very beneficial.
Also, is there more open space to the left of the breeding and Gem islands? or was that much open real estate always there?
A couple of weeks ago I posted that I wanted the habitat and the dragons but didn't care about the Tower. I honestly don't want the Tower taking space on my islands, and I really don't care if I have the dusk sky or not. That said.... I've been busily collecting fireflies -- including doing tons of repetitive treat plantings, and collecting party hats which takes forever when the game keeps crashing. I also purchased $5 worth of fireflies on the last sale. By tomorrow I will have the Tower. Cause..... I don't want to not have EVERYTHING in the game. Isn't that dumb? I tried to do the self-talk thing, but I didn't listen to myself.

I recently watched the BFS video on p1 of this thread and it says (and shows) the Tower changes the background from day to "dusk." It doesn't use the word "night." It also shows the Tower itself changing color from dark to sunny yellow. I'll know in 286 ff!
Should be at midnight on the 4th but check your news tab in the social menu and you should see a countdown timer so you can be exact.

Also since the discount ends 10hours before the event does, that might mean the double ffs might not last till the very end of the event. So make sure you get em all while you can!

I know this has been brought up a number of times but I need some confirmation...
I'm hoping to get some gems after turning the fireflies in for the Twilight Tower. Should I turn manually turn them in or do I just let them system automatically turn them in?
Once the event is over and if I have sufficient fireflies, I will get the tower even if I had not manually turned them in right?

Nobody knows for sure if the game will automatically redeem your fireflies once the event ends. So the general consensus is to turn them in yourself sometime before the event ends just in case.
I must say... when the event started, I was all "oh. Fireflies. Summer. Dusk. That's the event. That's a thing... I guess." But honestly, the whole thing conceptually is better than I realized. After collecting ffs bit by bit the other day, then heading out and coming back home, I walked across my driveway towards my house, looked at the blue-purple darkening sky, insect noises ambient in the air, and fireflies lighting up all around me. Such a nice atmosphere, and it mirrored what was going on in the game so well, I had to take a second a step back and reflect. ✨✨✨
I finally got the Twilight Tower Wohooo! Haven't turned in the fireflies yet but the animation has begun. My dedication, "hard work" and gems finally paid off.
I'm kind of neutral with this event and not sure if I would like to see a similar event in the future. Maybe Yes, but it should be different (totally different) from the past two events we had. I did enjoy myself very much and it was frustrating at times but just had to deal with it (ughh...the last 2-4 fireflies). It was possible to obtain all rewards without making any in application purchase and clearing obstacles. My sibling whose park level is at 17 managed to get the Celestial Habitat which I think is a really really good progress. The only advantage was having obstacles. But no gems, not enough habitat, and ummm... not much dedication. I used to stay up till 2-3 a.m. just to collect fireflies but my sibling didn't.
Thank you, BFS! I did enjoy the event and would love to see something different in the future. I think three is enough
I'm within range of getting the Twilight Tower too. I stopped using gems a week ago in hopes that they would do Double Fireflies and it wouldn't matter. I guess that paid off and saved me 270 gems.
Otherwise I probably could have finished it sooner.
Finally turned in my FF for the tower My patience was rewarded with 333 gems... oh and the tower
