I'm trying to remember which events to refrain from until Double Candy starts. Let's see...
- The Colosseum should be left till after Double Candy starts, since it only "refreshes" once a day. - Visiting friends should be okay, since we were able to collect more fireflies after Double Firefly started by visiting more friends. - If I recall correctly, hatching eggs will give us the same amount of candies each time; it's just the limit that has been doubled, so it should be okay to hatch eggs even before Double Candy. - Collecting DC or gems and growing treats should be avoided till after Double Candy starts. - Same goes for spending gems and clearing obstacles.
I don't know if this list is complete or correct, so please let me know if I've made any mistakes or left anything out!
Also: will it be alright to collect DC from habitats which haven't reached 1/3 capacity (and hence do not display the treasure chest bubble)? If I'm not wrong, doing this won't give us any candies.

Pretty much correct. Except for eggs. Yes, hatching is fine since they don't have diminishing returns, but eggs that are usually worth 20, will be worth 40. All the rest seems good! Time to twiddle my thumbs and wait until lunch. From what I recall it usually hits before my lunch time...

Okay, so I did a little bit of research... these are the times we noticed that a double weekend went live in the past two events. Note, they are CST, and it's currently about 10:00 AM here. I anticipate that if there is a double weekend then it will start in about 1.5-3 hours from now. Haha, just itching to collect my DC.

Careful, you don't want to end up like GregDarcy! He was originally a Ghost, but when we pulled back teh sheet it turned out he was just a pile of bones.
Oh man, I hit the cap for everything (except the coli, that's later) I've never goten all the treats so quickly!

I'm gonna be ending with a total of 1433 candies at the end of the day. Ugh so close to getting that Dark Island theme. I don't really care about the theme, but it would mean I'm that much closer to getting the Nosferatu!
