Does anyone else have excessive trouble with their social menu crashing during this event? I wanted to see how people were doing to see who needed help getting limited dragons. I usually can't even visit 1 person before DV crashes. It is extremely frustrating to say the least. I have force-closed everything else on my ipad, and I have over 3.5 gigs free. I try waiting about 10 seconds before every touch of the screen, but even that doesn't seem to do much good.
Me, me! I have opened it to the gift list, looked at who sent gems, and CRASH! Right out of the game. Also happens when I'm trying to send gifts. Once I've gone to a friend's park, it seems fine.
Speaking of crashes... it also happens when I'm accepting gifts. I just tried to accept three, including one from someone who must have the treatery, and got a black screen. When I went back into the game, it showed me having accepted the one with 20 berries, and the other two were still acceptable. My berry count had gone up by 20, so this time it worked. Other times it hasn't - I've not gotten as many berries as I should have.
If someone has a lot of friends in Game Center who play DragonVale then it is more for the menu to try to load at once and it can cause it to crash.
For over a year I just kept inactive players...a lot of inactive around... who just wanted to see my park, but between that and the RAM on the device I couldn't gift for the longest time.
Backflip told me to try removing some friends from Game Center (and possibly get a newer device), and removing friends that were inactive did end up helping me personally.
I have purged people off my list many times for that reason. I actually did a fairly large purge not too long ago. The problem is, almost everyone still on my list is still playing, and I do occasionally visit to see how people are doing. I guess I'll have to look again, though, and hope I don't delete anyone important.
By the way, why is it always when you need a long timer in the breeding areas that you get short ones. I sped up some things to use the rest of my gems for the day and needed a long timer for the night. I was breeding snowflake & snowflake. I got 2 h 30 m. I decided to speed it up, even though I wouldn't get more iceberries. Repeat that 5 more times. Yep, that's right, 6 snowflake in a row. The first five were #1. The last one will be staying in my nursery overnight now that I finally got an 8 hour timer. Of course, it was even worse in my dad's old park. I sped up an 11 h clover fail to finish off my gems and got a 23 m. Seriously!!! I blame GregDarcy. I am sure that he is responsible somehow.

I usually have to close all apps in memory, then do a hard reboot of my iPad to be able to visit people... Given up on it long ago, since it's too much work for the little you get out of it...

66 berries into Goody's Treatery, I'm exhausted. I'll make it to a hundred today, but I better start getting creative if I want the Dragonsai bush, methinks... not too hot about yet another theme.
I loved the second Snowflake dragon, say what you will about its low earnings... still, hatching it netted 18 berries. Let's hope the offspring give as much. Or do they give anything at all?
If it occurs on a weekend it will probably be next weekend since the other events have had their second or last double currency days on the last weekend before the event ends.
It just seems like a while this time because the first double days was in the middle of the week last week.
Despite being without internet yesterday (12hrs from Calgary to Vancouver, then transit and a ferry back to Vancouver Island), I was at 80 berries into Goody's Treatery and am currently at 324. I think I'm going pretty well how is everyone else going?

A HUGE thank you to all of you that take the time to post your thoughts & results! :0) i visit frequently & avidly scour the website for tips/helps but post very infrequently (a bit insecure about what-button-to-push-where to comment etc?)
Any advice about breeding for my 2nd apocalypse, 2nd dusk dragon & 2nd dark rift? Have been fortunate enuf to get my 2nd dawn & 2nd light rift but no no luck at all for apocalypse Any special things i could try or should be aware of? really feel i must be doing something wrong here because that apocalypse is soooo elusive!? Been using many combos for him but mainly lichen/magnetic (combo i got my first apoco with) & cactus mine... is there a special time i should be trying for him or any other ideas/helps/tips anyone can think of ? Also, any ideas about that 2nd dusk & dark rift ? Thanks! Koala & Happy New Year to all! :0)
I seem to have the best luck using one of the dragons you are trying to aquire in the mix. Apocalypse+Zombie, Dusk+Dawn for example.
I am at 1037 into Goody's Treatery. But I bought some iceberries during the double days, it was not just by collecting. I managed to get one of every Snowflake. Now I am trying to get a second of numbers 3 and 4 and the eggs breeding 1 + 1 on the island. I have a sparkling Dragonarium again. Unfortunately I got a double rainbow on the cave while breeding Snowflake 1 + Snowflake 1. Now I'll have to wait a long time until I can go back to trying for an Amethyst egg, which is being really stubborn. I lost count of how many Victory and Blue Moon dragons I got.

After 5 in a row of snowflake 1 I decided to display #6 in a row. The dragonarium shows that I have two of the first snowflake egg, and can show me where the first egg is and where the second egg is.

I've gotten 2 more snowflake #1, which I also displayed. I have not gotten any other snowflakes yet. Instead, I now have a DR on my EBI as well as a silver in my EBC (trying for apocalypse, kite, victory, and reindeer.) I'll speed up the silver before going to bed to use up my daily gem quota. The DR will have to sit there for a while.

There is no way in hades, valhalla, or even oriin's belt that I'm going to be able to get a dragonsai bush despite spending a full $15 cash hard money on &@^#^/* iceberries. And it irritates the stink outa me! I dont want a winter island theme much less more than one of them:( and I'm ain't gonna pony up $50 for anything in a virtual fantasy. I find these events to be more stressful that enjoyable. I'm having enough bloody (can I say that? Yikes) trouble breeding without the blankety blank distraction. You'd think by level 60 there would be some benefits...that it would be smoother/easier. Now where the heck did I put that Staples button? I'm gonna smash it good when I find it. Grrrrrrrrr

I just got my second Snowflake dragon tonight, and have about 25 berries towards the Treatery. I'm really hoping to get both the Treatery and Bush, but I think it will be close.
